There's no die trigger on yor opponent side if your commander is out (blood artist for exemple). For a die trigger to happen, the creature has to hit the graveyard. Your commander prevents that.

Hi guys - lots of people mentioning the legendary rule, absolutely correct. The legendary tokens would get sacrificed immediately. However, you would still get their ETB/LTB triggers. If you would like to not sacrifice them. You can pick up Mirror Gallery or Mirror Box to not have the legend rule apply and go crazy with a legends matter deck too 👍

I know it's a bit late but to go infinite just use a mana dork such as: Ornithopter of Paradise, Manakin, Gold Myr or Iron Myr. Then Cast/Copy Bell ringer and repeat. You could also go almost infinite while creating an extra floating mana with Ashnod's Altar (Sac your tokens). Also, since our commander already has haste, a Patriar's Seal would be more efficient than 1000-year Elixir as it would double as a mana rock. For those who don't know, this card will not remove the Legendary Rule, so the token copy would simply explode upon impact but this also means that we automatically get any ETB's or Death triggers right away from the token copy, this is something Kikki-Jikki cannot do.

No sir, if Valgavoth is killed, then recasted, you cannot play cards exiled with its former self. It is no voidwalker, it will be considered a different object by the game. Still very good though.

Wouldn't the Balloon man's ability not get rid of the legendary typing on tokens he makes? It says it's a 1/1 red balloon in addition to colors and types. It doesn't say anything about taking away the legendary part.

If you flicker the Balloon Man with Restoration Angel, its already an infinite combo due to you being able to tap him again, making it a two card combo (which is ideally what you want for a commander deck), same exact thing can be done with any other flicker card like Felidar Guardian and Wispweaver Angel (although this one is quite expensive) because in essence it does not matter since the wincon is to attack with infinite flying 1/1s anyway. Having Flash might be slightly better since you could play Restoration Angel at the end of the opponent's turn and fully untap to do the combo with full mana on your phase. Zealous Conscripts and Coercive Recruiters are other options that is Red that allows you to untap. If you have a "Sacrifice Creature" activation creature you could also use Thornbite Staff, although that makes it a 3 card combo by equipping Thornbite Staff on Balloon Man and repeatedly sacrifice that copied creature. Combat Celebrant and Godo (and Port Razor which work with Kikijiki) do not work here since you only get an additional combat phase, not an additional main phase. There are more but pretty much any Kikijiki combo works as long as it does not require instant speed (as in extra combat phase effects).

Quick note, it's sorcery speed so godo infinites don't work. Nor does kikki jikki with the commander as Kiki states nonlegendary

Way too expensive for cEDH, I don’t see this ever seeing play as a commander in cEDH and very very rarely in the 99. Definitely seems like a trap to me

Ayara widow of the realm can’t be in the 99 as the phyrexian red counts as a red mana pip and her back side is both red and black so she cannot legally be in a mono black commmander deck. Otherwise amazing deck build and the first for valgavoth on TH-cam as far as I can tell!!!!🎉🥰

I don't find the calculator very useful for decks that cheat creatures into play. I can theoretically win anywhere from turn 2-4, but turn 6 is a consistent win, yet it evaluates my deck at a 6-7. I can throw in cards that have 0 synergy just to appease the calculator, and it will easily give me an 8 and jump me to a 9 if I help it correct my actual mana costs. It's like it just cares about which bonkers cards you have in your deck and not if they work together.

To be more on flavor, it would be cool if Harry cost less and he had the same hexproof ability but only when you sacrifice him. Just having a permanent commander thatll give everyone hexproof might be a bit too strong; he'd be countered every time you attempt to cast him imo

You can indeed copy mana rocks, but you do need to cast something else on the stack, then activate ulaleks ability. It’s actually insane value, because you can have echos of eternity on the field, cast hedron archive, cast any flash Eldrazi, echos activates, which also triggers ulalek, and you can double it and you get double of everything on the stack

Cool deck tech. Just some funny interactions I didn't see mentioned: - Vehicles: certain vehicles will have effects and now never need to be crewed since they are creatures - Equipment: Amorphous Axe, Runed Stalactite, etc... cards like that can make Leo into a Thopter so he can benefit from his own ability - Encroaching Mycosynth can turn everything you control and in hand into Artifacts - Maskwood Nexus can generate 2/2 Thopters and it can be another way to make Leo into a Thopter ;p

Seconding the other guy, this is solid content but I recommend including a list, even if it's not perfect, just so people have something to work from instead of manually typing in every card from the video. Other than that, you could also consider sorting the video into sections since it's a 24 minute video (mana dorks, utility, big boys, etc). Good luck with the channel gentlemen, I subbed.

Not sure about my ideal Gimli or Legolas cards, but for Gollum I'd suggest: A 1/3 for 2B Shadow- At the beginning of your upkeep the Ring Tempts You- Whenever Gollum deals combat damage to a player you may sacrifice another creature who is the Ring Bearer. If you do, search your library or graveyard for "The One Ring" and put it into your hand.

I like a lot of these ideas but i think these commanders are too strong and 'solve their own equations', so to speak, which imo makes deckbuilding around commander not as interesting. I like the flavor though

Given the positive reaction to my proofreading, I took some time to check what *would* be a good color identity for Blastoise, given that I believe that it breaks the color pie both flavorwise and mechanically. I think you could've stuck with this same style of design if you were willing to make Blastoise Green *and* Blue. If this hurts the devotion theme too much, then Hydropump could give Blastoise trample, and power equal to the amount of Islands you control, potentially acting as a payoff for ramp decks. (This might be on the strong side, but the card does cost seven mana.) I would give feedback about how well these represent pokémon, if I could, but I am not interested in pokémon. I will simply trust that the design directions are befitting of the source material.

Your gimli is absolutely busted, because he turns into a board wipe with every attack. Slap an equipment on him with first strike and the moment you have 5 mountains he's a 9/4 that either wipes your board of any creature with up to 9 toughness, or you need to sacrifice creatures up to the point where he doesn't wipe you anymore. He essentially gets "must be blocked" because if you don't block him he'll wipe your creatures anyways. I also don't see the lore connection between him and that ability. and his mountain buff essentially makes him a 9/4 for 5cmc in a mono red deck. You didn't playtest your cards, did you?

These are overpowered... Legolas is a 6/6 for 5 with a bunch of keywords and abilities?!? Maybe if he was a 2/5 with WGG Tap: fight target creature. No healing. Either that OR the last ability but not both. That's literally lightning helix and theres no red? Gimli is quite good, I was also super disappointed in the Gimlis we got in the set and made my own. This one is very cool but very strong. Im not sure about the haste on there. Very pushed power level but it is Gimli... and he's a BAMF Golum would be better "searching" for the ring. But not tutoring for it. Better to be "Whenever Golum attacks look at the top 9 cards of your library. You may place an artifact from among them on top of your library, and the rest on the bottom in a random order" Each turn you're searching your deck for the ring and it doesn't become completely useless once youve found it.

The easiest fix they could have made with the cards we got was making Legolas, Counter of Kills and Gimli, Counter of Kills partners.

Coram is a decent commander but its far from "crazy". The Master, Transcent came out just a few sets ago and is an objectively stronger "mill for value" commander. The only thing that Coram has over The Master is that it's a potential voltron threat. If you're building this one over The Master, you should probably lean into that aspect by running some big stompy creatures such as "Lord of Extinction" as well as run ways to give your commander evasion. 5 toughness when you're on the ground is not enough to safely attack into people in commander. If you aren't attacking with this commander, you're missing out on two thirds of the commander's appeal.

The Ditto card is broken, it would die the moment you cast it because it isn't entering the battlefield as a copy of another creature, it's entering the battlefield as a 0/0 and thus, would die before its copy ability could resolve. Cool designs, I just thought that card was really funny.

I would give feedback on these, but they're clearly just not worded correctly, and it's not even consistent between the cards. You forgot to require revealing the cards you searched for with the pokéballs. Some cards seem to be a work in progress Great Ball especially. Cool ideas in general, nice concept for a video... I don't especially like that many of them reference the commander by name.

Gyarados is on the strong side, but might be balanced. Bubblebeam is instant speed, which could potentially create problems. I'd heavily prefer for it to be sorcery speed.

Jessie and James doesn't specify the creature type of Meowth, which would mean that they create tokens with the Meowth creature type, which is... strange.

Dragonite is really, really weak. Compare it to "Akroma, Angel of Fury" (Just one example, there's various other examples, some of which are dragons. There's better cards in standard, which *should* be the lowest power format to compare it to.) 7 mana 5/5, vs 8 mana 6/6 Pokémon Dragon vs Angel Flying, Trample, vs This spell can't be countered. Flying, trample, protection from white and from blue 4 mana +1/0, which increases by one with each use and each proliferate, vs Firebreathing (To get any value from Dragon Wave, you need to pay at least 8 mana. For 8 mana, Akroma gains +8/+0, assuming it's only red mana.)

There was an old version of the legendary rule, where if two players controlled a legendary creature with the same name, they would both be put into their owner's graveyards. That's very outdated by now, as the legend rule has changed ~3 times since then.
