Sort by new and have a look at the comments, listen to what kind words loyalists are saying about their brothers on the other side of the world. Then look at the republicans and how they speak down to these men and women and act as if they cant think for themselves... quite nasty really.

Interesting short documentary. Personally, I can't understand unionism, not this day in age anyway. We are all "Irish" regardless of what passport you have, we're from the island of Ireland. According to Lord Brookeborough - Protestants on the whole want to be part of Britain and loyal to the Queen. Why would anyone want to be loyal to the Royal Family nowadays, they're literally parasites. Brookeborough also saw the 1916 Rising as a stab in the back because he was off fighting a pointless, unnecessary war in Europe. Two blood-related royal families quarrelling at the expense of the lives of millions - pointless! I can, however understand unionists not wanting to be absorbed or annexed by the 26 counties because of the state it's in - a vassal statelet of Brussels, overrun with bogus welfare tourists or "refugees", crippling rent costs, years-long hospital waiting lists etc etc. I would like to see a whole new era, in Irish history, where we unite under a common banner for the greater good, maybe in the form of a federal republic.

Thieves and brigands invading another country! Shamelessly stealing and pillaging while thumping their King James Bibles. Calling the natives who fought to protect their homes and land "Rebels" and "Traitors". Do the English not regard Robin Hood as a Rebel? To the Normans he was an outlaw. Meanimg he was, "Outside the protection of the law". He could be killed without punishment for the perpetrator. This sounds very similar to the actions carried out by British forces in the 6 counties into the 1980's. "Shoot to kill", the policy was named. I'm from Co. Cork, nicknamed the "Rebel County ". When i was little I stood beside my father as shots were fired over my grand uncles grave. This was done by 6 Irish Army soldiers for his part in fighting for Irish freedom. We regard him as anything but a terrorist! Anyone with half a brain can see the future that is on the horizon for the 6 counties. Its a numbers game and these numbers are not in the Unionists favour. Brexit has accelerated this and London will drop its last stronghold on Irish soil like a hot potato! They've sold out the loyalist community before and they'll do it all again!

We were planted on over and over again, what about some of these acts Act for the Settlement of Ireland 1652 The Act for the Setling of Ireland imposed penalties including death and land confiscation against Irish civilians and combatants after the Irish Rebellion of 1641 and subsequent unrest. British historian John Morrill wrote that the Act and associated forced movements represented "perhaps the greatest exercise in ethnic cleansing in early modern Europe." Now how many times in history do you think that the people of Ireland went through this crap. The land is called northern Ireland for a reason, because its a part of Ireland.

These images were used to stoke hatred in England against the Irish and Catholics in general. They also claim 154’000 people were killed. This number was taken from eyewitnesses who took refuge in Dublin, in what was called the 1641 Depositions. These were a mix of witness testimonies, hearsay, and rumour. The figure of deaths is thought to be between 4’000-12’000. It’s important we remember it happened. And also that it was used by Cromwell to defend the actions he carried out in Drogheda, Wexford, Cashel etc resulting in the deaths of 40% of Irelands men, women and children. He used misinformation like this to cause destruction in Ireland, an important lesson we can learn from.
