WP suspension on the KTM is a little bit bigger and rides well on the terrain unlike the Kayaba which throws off the Tenere.

Lol. I have a 38in inseam both of my feet are flat on the ground on all of my bikes. Can't get riding gear that fits but I can live with that...

Or get a shorter/lower/lighter bike? I know it sounds harsh but perhaps there's some truth to it?
Ground clearance is important when riding offroad too. Most guys of average height would struggle to get one foot flat on an enduro bike, and there's a reson for that.
@@HartyBiker Yeah absolutely, I guess one needs to decide the balance between ground clearance and being able to put their feet down. 🤷🏻♂️
It's so slow, stiff, and very obviously unwieldy 😂 Keep this thing on pavement as a boomer cruiser, you would have genuinely gone over everything in this video faster on a Honda rebel cruiser with scrambler tires on it.

I have a CRF 450RX, (106kg 57HP ) a 701 and a R1300GS. The 701 is the “go to bike “ !! More fun on the road than the GS and almost as easy to throw around on the trails as the CRF !
It’s like extra weight on your girlfriend! More weight is never a good idea.
I'd love to see a comparison with the Tenere World Raid. I've got the bike and it's absolutely epic on road and off. Lower center of gravity due to the twin side gas tanks. Super comfortable on long rides. Great on dirt and off road. Large stones going downhill on curves were a challenge though due to my inexperience
T700 has... Anti squat design Slimmer and lighter Simple electronic hence more reliable Lower compression hence crap gas in no man's land can be used CP2 engine, the most reliable engine

Here’s a thought; If your “adventure bike“ is too heavy for you to pick up by yourself on a dirt road or muddy ground, you probably have too much motorcycle. Have a nice day.

Standard. They aren't importing the Rally here. But it does have the Rally seat. We released a video about the Rally seat if you're interested.

It will end up like the GS. Just a big adv road tourer. Too heavy for offroad.

So basically the heaviest bike I could ride is a 150-160 kg dual sport? Silly advice

I see a better suspension. I just upgraded my suspension to be WAY better than the 890 and my bike is still cheaper and more reliable. To each their own, obviously.

I love both these guys so much! I Have an old Moto Guzzi Quota and my 2016 Africa twin just got stollen... I was looking at a Ducati desert sled to replace but I cant stop being pragmatic about the Tenere! I was a beemer guy before but.......

Sometimes I wanted more power from the 701 🤣🤣🤣 It's got a much higher power to weight ratio than the bloated T7.
Can remove fuse for traction control and ABS. Can then just put fuse back. Removed ABS after it almost put me over a cliff.
Light bike better off road unless good at picking up 400 to 500 lbs - most of use need team if riding big bikes - to have help. Use my gs1200 advisor Street bike or all round machine. Like fuel range with bigger tanks. Closest main city is 170 miles away were live. My ktm640 adv weight is around 420 lbs with rally skid plate ( with tools) and panniers racks + soft bags - camping gear - fuel tank (28 liters). Based on scales used.

Slave cylinder o ring has been an issue for 9 years there’s no excuse to not change that out as soon as you get the bike it’s a dollar fix
The world raid tenere fixes the issues with the suspension... but also yamaha has come out with a few other variants of the tenere as well like the rally and explorer which are above the base model t700... i have not have had the opportunity at all to ride both bikes as a comparision and really it all comes down to the riders needs, the ktm is much much easier for the novice to ride and shorter riders when 99% of people buying the bike are only going to ride fire trails and some dirt roads to travel (adventure) to a destination.... not so much use it as a dirt bike... this is where its really hard when you can have an amazing ktm 500 exc-f as a light weight ADV for the real enduro cross and heavy rides but also just have the mid size bike for the long accross the country rides

Gearing down the 701 makes it easier to manage in technical riding. The stock gearing is too tall for that IMO.
I think k you compared the wrong bikes, 890S and T7 or 890R vs T7 extrême but we do not have it in US
No way the T7 is less than 200KG
