That was terrible to allow the dog to kill a GOOD snake, looked like a rat snake or king either way they are good to have in an overgrown yard like yours. Also, you put your dog at risk...you didn't know if the snake were poisonous or not!

That is that Terrier in him. They got no quit. Same qualities that make the pit-bull so tenacious. The PB is terrier and bulldog mix.

Wow! he was quick and can kill snakes. My two huskies barked at a 4 foot bull snake this summer until I came out to see what had invaded the back yard.

We had a Pitmix who had a special bark to alert us of snakes. She would then catch and kill in much the same manner. Good Dog!

Had jack Russel's since I was 7, I'm 32 now. All the jacks I've had were and are snake killers. And a few tried to fight bears. Fear just isn't common in there little big hearts

Go Sonic! I have two terrier mix sisters from the same litter. They love chasing bugs, lizards, squirrels and guarding their yard. They are excellent at catching and killing moles in the yard. As you said, it's in their genes.
