Recorded live 1939 in the Wiener Staatsoper conducted by Hans Knappertsbusch. With Anny Konetzni as Kundry. Hans Grahl was the big Heldentenor of this time at the Staatsoper Hamburg. A famous tenor, later imprisoned by the Nazis for his homosexuality. He was also the teacher of Ludwig Suthaus after the war.

Full credit to the owner of the "Ludwig Suthaus" Facebook page! My restoration (As far as possible). Wire recording made by Josef Herrmann. Recorded likely mid 1950s in Städtische Oper Berlin. I'm not aware of the exact date or who conducted the performance.

The great Tosca performance in stereo from the 'Lirica Italiana' series from Tokyo, performed in 1961 with a great cast. This is my own transfer from a rare vinyl tape. The Stereo sound is very nice, but the LP has the usual problems. I hope to find a CD from this performance sometimes in the future. PS: The prompter is really active here:D
