Great breakdown! Are there more or less factors to consider when opening a before/ after school club/ tutoring for children? Also, if a business started as a before / afterschool club, could this transition after a year or so into a nursery during school time ? Thanks

Great video! Loved how expansive it was, digging deep into all of the available options out there. Throughout Covid we finally found the time and available resources to review all of our on site policies and one of the main topics was our software and monthly costings. After being a user of famly for years we eventually switched to Octopus 365 after much deliberation, and have never looked back, starting our 3rd year in Feb. It is by far the most customisable software and being able to speak to actual members of staff for support, 24 hours a day, has been a huge plus point for all the members of our team at 3 of our nursery settings, something other options simply do not match. It goes without saying, but the financial saving has also been very beneficial considering the current climate. Great video and very helpful!

Thanks for this great video summary of the providers. Just so you know, Tapestry has its own forum which has been going since 2003 and is full of information and support. The creators of Tapestry - who still own the company - started it as a way to build links with families in their own nursery, having been nursery owners and teachers for many years. Many of the team here (myself included!) have been teachers/nursery workers, so we are lucky to have huge experience to draw on which feeds into our features and support resources that Tapestry produces regularly.

I've used Blossom and Famly as a parent and practitioner and found so many issues with Blossom but Famly was so good for staff and parents. 😊

We use famly too and have no issues with it. It's helped us a lot. Though, haven't tried any others on the list

You have a few videos about setup but I'm wondering about ongoing costs. The main worry for me, as someone with no qualifications is needing to hire at least 2 staff(?) even before seeing a penny of income, and with it taking time to ramp up, is that bills, rent and staff costs could add up to much more than the setup costs before the business becomes cashflow positive? Do you have a video about that?

How long does it usually take before Ofted do their registration visit? I’m due to start in a new nursery, but they are still waiting for this visit after around 17 weeks
