Thanks, it was fun to make!
It's so helpful that you show the palette while you paint.
Love this!!😍
Ingenious rock technique..! Good work sir !
Thank you! Cheers!
What a GREAT video! So easy to follow. Thank you for sharing. 🤩
You are so welcome!
Love it, thank you for teaching 😊
You are so welcome!
Why do you use the spray Mod Podge before using the liquid Mod Podge? I am new to this and trying to figure things out. Thanks!
The difference is night and day. This right here, is real talent at work.
Amazing!! I was looking for just this! Thankyou. Super informative 👌 and love the results!
Again i watch this video❤❤❤❤❤
👍👍👍👍👍💖
This is so neat! Thank you
You are so welcome!
Wow ❤great❤ fantastic❤ beautiful❤❤❤❤
Hello Steve! I would like to try your sky technique. Is your spray bottle a particular brand? And what kind of paper are you taping to your board? And lastly, what kind of board are you using? Thank you for this great tutorial!
Hello Teresa take a close look at the spray bottle you can find those at Walmart I don’t have the brand-name the paper I used was 300 pound watercolor paper. This will work also on 140 pound watercolor paper go to Google and type in cheap Joe’s Art stuff. They will send you a catalog. That’s where I get my paper , paints, and other supplies you can mount the paper on a masonite board or sometimes I use a hard canvas board. Have fun and if you have any more questions, let me know.
Thank you😊
Very nice
Vielen Dank!
Interesting, what is turpenoise?
It’s a form of turpentine
I love this, and the delightful folksy way you explain everything - matter of factly, like a DIY gardening class.
Thank you, I try to make it simple and easy to follow.
Really love your painting style & techniques. Thank you for sharing them 😊
What beautiful clouds & a fantastic technique for cirrocumulus clouds in particular!
The AI was flat and bland. Steve's felt more vibrant and 3d. I didn't like the reflection in Steve's though.
Wonderful! Thank you for sharing.😊
Magic!
Another oldie here. Love the clouds.
I can't thank you enough for all of this information 🥺🥺
Love this!!!
Thank you for sharing
My pleasure
The blue of the sky is off.
thank you ~ you explained it in such a way that makes it easy to follow... and covered so much more than I expected at the end... I want to do this with an 18" x 27" watercolor painting that I just completed... I will be attaching it to a board much like the one you placed on top of the paper and painting to allow it to dry... I am a little nervous... but not overly "thanks to you". This painting has taken what seems to be forever... and it is for someone who is paying me... that is what made it take so long... nervous with painting in watercolor when I am use to painting in oil... such a different medium in its self... with less control... fingers crossed... here goes it. thank you. (oh, ment to mension the piece of wood is attached to a frame quite like the canvas's on frames that you buy at Micheals... (so it won't worp)
Thank you a 67 year old learning to water color. Nice clouds work. I appreciated your technique.
Steve! Sorry Arty.
Steve wins, hands down... literally, because it is all in the human touch.
You were so clear with your instructions! Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
AMAZING. I want to paint a simple sunset in the background on a lake... with a kayak sitting on the shore... might have to change my mind and go with this... so beautiful... you share what you know in such an easy way to receive... thank you
AI....ugly in all respects
I love this guy. I would love to learn how to paint the sky. It’s so beautiful.
You can do it!
Beautiful. That's so pretty.Interesting.method.Such a good explanation. Thank you.
Thank you! Cheers!
No contest...Steve absolutely wins!!!
I vote Steve’s for several reasons, first: the sky, the trees, the rocks are very real and dimensional, while the AI’s mountains are flat; second: the colours in Steve’s are more natural and soft, while AI’s are stiff and same throughout the painting. Also the composition is more interesting with Steve’s than AI’s, though I do not think much of Steve’s mountain 😅😮
Steve, No contest. His is beautiful, delicate, interesting variations, a masterly touch.
Thanks for voting
I don't like the AI one at all. I don't know what it is about it but it doesn't give me a good feeling when I look at it. Could be the colors but not sure.
Human wins! Hands down!
A very good technique for getting natural looking clouds and sky. The sky would have been perfect, in my humble opinion, if you had not used the granulating Ultramarine blue which gave the appearance of a sky in an old crackled oil painting. But I am grateful that you shared this technique, because I cannot wait to try it with a non-granulating blue. I think it is one of the best techniques I have ever seen for achieving a beautiful and natural looking sky.
Do you have any tutorials on painting a sunset on a lake with a canoe on the shore?
amazing... have been wondering how to protect the watercolor paintings... thank you - much appreciated... you made it so easy to follow.
I am SSSSSOOOOOOOOOOOO glad your student recommended you share on TH-cam & even more glad to hear this is your passion. Oh I hope and pray you grasp just how powerful, & meaningful, this is to me. I love that TH-cam’s algorithm knew I’d love this channel. The moment I began to play your your first video, I KNEW you were no ordinary TH-cam artist. Due to a miraculous life saving, and rare, surgery (while 30 weeks pregnant w/ our son, rushed into emergency surgery & discovered my anatomy was flip flopped & the pregnancy pushed on them causing gangrene) I have been given ample opportunity to find new creative outlets. To me, creating is a completely immersive experience I can get lost in - in the best way! I’ve never been “by the book”. So, back to when I saw you first video, I KNEW I’d found a priceless treasure. As mobility has been limited lately, I’ll check out the innumerable art & creating channels. But when I came across you, something immediately clicked…on a deep level. I knew if I had come across you in art school, as one of my teachers, I would have found the one who made the greatest impact. What I love about how you teach here, is I feel like you’ve come to my table & showing me personally how to bring out my desired passion. So THANK YOU!!!!! 😁
Wow, I just read your thoughts and comments God be with you watercolor is very soothing but demanding that’s why I love watercolor. Have fun. Good luck to you.
Wow, what a terrific way to psint trees. I'm impressed. Thsnk you for sharing
