@@bobbysalinas4845 This isn't a race, this is just track days, purely for fun, you can drive as hard as you want, or let off and let someone catch up you may want to run with.

Was wondering same. My grand sport, which has same brakes in it, would fail if I braked too heavily consistently. Even the brake cooling packages installed in these isn't up to par for real track use.

There is no auto rev match on the C6.

There is and this guys has it installed. You can clearly hear it. I had one on my C6 Z06. Its aftermarket. Works great.

The huge tire footprint on cars like the Z06 and the Viper has always let them pull Gs that are unobtainable for many european and japanese sports cars but that advantage is only super prevalent on long sweepers like the carousel.

Sounds stock to me, but I think he's using an external mic to get that sweet sweet exhaust sound.

You dont gain much power with headers on these cars. 5-10hp maybe

@@rmm2424 yes you do with heads ported and guides redone with a tune. Stock 15. After 30/35. I know because I did all I just said. Its common knowledge. My ARh 1 7/8 and x pipe after tune picked up 31 rwhp and 33 rwtq!! Can really feel it and the sound!

This was my first time ever at Road Atlanta and my 3rd or 4th track day ever. Was shutting it down around 140. Check out my video from this year. I put Toyo R888s on the car, seats, and harnesses and the video has telemetry. Hit 148 in that section and was running 1:38s in a light rain.

+CVI.LaNell_ Yes, HLT and GoPro Hero 3+ Black. The WiFi integration makes the overlay process very easy.

I will have to try it out next time I go to the track. Where do you mount your gopro, do you have a roll cage or something that you attach it too? I've been trying to find a similar position, but nothing works. So instead I just mount it to my helmet.

+CVI.LaNell_ I did the helmet mount in my first day and found it to be too shaky. I then got the Sharkbar harness bar that allows me to mount the GoPro right to the bar (and the harnesses, along with the seats, of course). The ride-along clip of mine from Road America shows how the GoPro is setup with this configuration. I found that extended arm to be pretty shaky, so I eliminated one of the sections at the event at MSP and it seems to be more stable (as shown above).

+SGVFOOTBALL The Z06 is a very capable track car right out of the box and can be even better with just a few light upgrades (rotors, pads, seats). I have 22k miles on my 2009 and about 12 track days. Zero issues whatsoever. The car has never run into any temperature issues, even at 90 degree air temps. The valve issue is probably the most talked about item, but can be addressed with a head job at $2-3k. Mine is still under warranty, so the motor stays completely stock. The M3 and Z06 will be quite different experiences, but having a 7k rpm, 7 liter V8 is quite fun on the track. Maintenance is very reasonable for the Z06, which may not be the case for the BMW.

+Brian Kender I mounted it on my Sharkbar harness bar. I used an articulated extension arm, so the GoPro sits about 6 inches higher and 3 inches further forward than the bar.

For this event no. In the two events after this (Road America) and Autobahn in August I did. The wind noise wasn't too bad without a covering, but is almost non existent with one covering the mic.

+koontz gonzalez I agree. Much louder and more aggressive sound than stock with flaps open. It also does drone as much as the stock with flaps open, though. I have posted many more, much higher quality videos since this initial video.
