To stop a flip over surely a plastic (deformable and disposable) bridle could be added. Think of a double-sided Y keeping the rings apart. Just a thought for future safety for you guys.

Brian Germain and Dean Ricci have great books on fear. Solo, stress free jumps really helped me when I was going through AFF. I think you should watch all of the TEEM videos and learn how your gear works. Read and watch everything skydiving. Take a canopy course right away!

I've got 3 tandems under my belt. Two, 23 years ago, and most recent was 2019. On the last one, I felt door terror until I was out of the plane. That surprised me. I noticed that when I was at that place mentally, so was everything else I worried about just flooding my being. The jump went great, but I needed to handle my business; kids, career, and all my obligations not being ok. I learned that my life was out of balance. Hopefully soon, I can get my rating.

I've done a single tandem jump. Canopy deployed no problem, but at some point during the descent the instructor pointed to our left strap and pointed at these rings and was audibly flustered. When we hit the ground he quickly said that our reserve shoot wouldn't have deployed because these rings were incorrect and disappeared with no further explanation. I have had no idea how these work until now.....this was at "that" jump center in Lodi, CA and about a week after a fatality in '16/'17. Woop woop

I am an experienced skydiver almost 500 jumps but just just got back into it after 4 years. I still know my stuff but if I'm not sure, I'll still ask questions. I don't care how many jumps you have if you are not sure ask. I love helping new jumpers as well and if they ask me a question, I'll answer it if I know if I don't, I'll point them to the right person. Blue skies.

Has Alliance or any DZ worked out a collection and recycling use for these bands? I understand they are hard to recycle - could there be a use like for car tyres in eg soft surfaces of kids playground? An episode investigating this even if it finds there is no current solution would be interesting (and in turn maybe prompt a creative idea from someone?)

There are helicopter jumps going on at a nearby dz and I signed up with some friends of mine. I have 60 jumps and I fly a 210 with a wingloading of one. The dropzone said they rent out rigs, but its possible they might only have a 190 available. I land fine on light wind days, and safely on no wind days with my 210. My more experienced friends have told me that a 190 wont be much different and it should be fine. What do you think?

I did my first tunnel camp years ago with Air Speed in Orlando Fl. Had a brand new flight suit that fit like an over sized trash bag. Craig ended up lending me one of his suits. At the next pre-flight meeting with everyone suited up,I said, hey Craig, I have good news and bad news for you. He said, whats that? I said, good news is I made the team. Bad news is I got your slot!! Big chuckles all around!! I still have photos of me looking cool in an Air Speed flight suit flying in the tunnel geeking the camera with Craig. Thanks Craig!!
