@@g.shanthi3842 The Shogun cdi is the same as all the 100cc 12v bikes of TVS Suzuki. So you can find it easily. There is no specific different CDI for Shogun like the one fir Shaolin.

​@@manbandw actually I don't know it's correct.but as far i could hear Shogun cdi was revving higher rpm is more in Shogun cdi .in my Shogun the cdi has got high performance engraved in it it's just Nippon same as in the video but some extra words like high performance

@@g.shanthi3842 No.. the Shogun has the same cdi as the other 100cc 12v bikes of TVS. Nothing special or no different. I'm 100% sure about it.

@m0t0rbreathing This is the Rally/Racing soec factory tuned SupraSS. It produces 16bhp power . It has a different Gear ratio and a factory tuned chamber. This is definitely not a myth. I'm the first owner of this bike and I bought this directly from TVS factory in Hosur. This was not sold to public. Only selected few were given the opportunity to buy this bike. Shogun was a slightly detuned version of the Supra SS. The gear ratio of the Shogun is different ( Shogun shares the same gear ratio of the 11 bhp Supra). Shogun was developed as a regular bike.

@@manbandw Thanks for replying! Great to know the history and specs. Have you had a chance to take a close look at the porting and how it compares to a Shogun? I assume a chunk of that 16bhp comes from the exp chamber, but still curious to know how 'drastic' the ports are. IIRC the Shogun ports were pretty extreme to start with!

@m0t0rbreathing I don't clearly remember the porting details as its been ages since my SS engine was dismantled. But i vaguely remember the exhaust port are bigger than that of Shogun. I remember that the service supervisor and the lead mechanic saying that there are some slight mods to the ports, but don't remember now. These were checked and discussed 30 years ago.

Hi, ha ha.. not just you, many think the 16bhp Supra SS was a myth and it actually didn't exist. Not only that, many thought this was a modified 11 bhp Supra.. The only way to prove was the original RC book and me being the 1st owner of this beauty, I do know what I have and I didn't have to worry about the critics..ha ha.. The cosmetics are exactly the same as the 2nd version 11 bhp Supra ( commonly known as the Power up ) with a bigger engine. But there are a few mechanical differences between the Shogun and the SS. The silencer is different from that of Shogun , the muffler is also slightly different. The carb is different , the gear ratios are different ( Shogun shares the same gear ratio as the Supra 11bhp ), The chain sprocket ratio is different. Other than these, the other Technical differences were not shared by the TVS engineers openly. Along with a normal looking bike ( same as power up ) a rally kit was given. That included a chamber ( produces 16 bhp ) , lengthier rally handle bar, a 16" rear wheel, bigger jets, round powerful headlight ( first of its kind in any TVS bikes those years ), a rally rear carrier, a pair of gas filled shock absorber, a lengthier centre stand, a canvas rally bag. I had the previous 2 versions of the Supra and when I heard about the SS, I called the factory in Hosur and enquired about it. They said it would be sold only to enthusiasts and participants of rally/ racing representing TVS and it would be sold only at the factory directly that too after they are convinced. So I went to the factory directly and met the R&D manager, TVS Racing team engineers and that's how I got it. It was way back in 1992.

@s2tp97 Thank you indeed for your message.. I have treasured this bike and have kept it just lying idle for more than 15 years. Then during covid I restored it. The mechanic who used to handle my bike those years ( from early 1990s ) is the only person allowed to touch my bike for maintenance. That's how it's still running in excellent condition.

Exactly... Will be missed forever.. Made it a point to go all the way from Tanjore ( as I was visiting Tanjore for cpl of days for a function ) to just look at it before it's gone. Missing the YDM...

There are a few videos with chamber.. I'm not going to fix the chamber anytime soon. It will be stored safely.

Very very difficult. This was supplied by the factory only for Supra SS. It was not sold separately. So it would be very difficult to get it...

@theboogeyman1611 This is Supra SS, exclusive of the TVS Racing team. This was not sold outside. Only it was sold to very few enthusiasts. So this bike came with this tuned chamber from TVS factory which produces 16 bhp. So you can't get outside anywhere and it will not be available anywhere too..

Hi Anithjohn.. Good day. To be Frank, I have not bought many spares for the Shaolin. Few years back ( 2020 ), I found piston , rings , crank shaft , sprockets etc.. So I had kept it as spares. Now getting these are almost impossible. Shaolin spares are very rare. Nowadays I don't get anything and I don't look for anything much. But just keep.watching on the sales groups.. you will occasionally find something and just grab it. Getting new, OE are very very difficult .

The original power box of each bike os the best. It has been calculated for that particular engine. For normal 100 cc 2 stroke bikes which comes without powerbox, use it that way as its bhp is less and adding powerbox doesn't add any advantage over it. Again keep in mind powerbox means " No added power". The name is misleading . The right term for it is " Resonator " . So please don't think adding a powerbox boosts power to the bike. Its not.

Hi, which bike you are using. For TVS Suzuki bikes 12V , all 100 cc bikes and for Shogun the black one is fine. If you use the Shaolin CDI ( grey or white ) in Shogun or any other 12 V 100 cc bikes, you would get a back pressure when you kick start ot and it's timing also will not suit. For that you have to change the crank shaft, magneto etc of Shaolin to get it right. For Shaolin , the grey or white of Shaolin is the best. The last batches of TVS max 100 came with combined CDI and ignition coil and for those bikes, only the combined one should be used. Don't use the combined one for Shogun and the other 100cc bikes.

@kiracyborg7633 it doesn't work well. Many tried making a replica , but the performance was bad. If a replica could be made to perform well, by this time many would be having it.

@@manbandw i actually using a samurai exhaust now and im converting tht into inbuilt chamber but im also looking for a calculated chamber as well ,which one will be your suggestion sir

@kiracyborg7633 Are you using a Shogun?? If so, the Shogun silencer and core itself is an inbuilt chamber. Don't go for after market ones which would spoil the engine in due course. If you are using a 100 cc bike, yry and get the original silencer or if you get a proper calculated one, use it. But how will you know if it is a proper calculated one is a question mark.. my suggestion would be, stick on to the original set up.

Yes, it's the Stock OE expansion chamber supplied by the factory.
