I moved to singapore 3 years ago, and this is my first time seeing how CNY is celebrated traditionally. Thank you so much for taking time to vlog and sharing your CNY with us. Now, I feel nostalgic remembering all the festivals I used to celebrate as a kid. Missing my fam :(

Wait till the 9th day of cny when the Hokkien doing their prayer at night. The fireworks will go on and on non stop with all varities and kind...no one can sleep for at least 1 to 2 hours

If you knife cutting skills are lacking, consider getting a grater from the local hardware / kitchen ware section - allows you to grate, slice in all thickness easily. One thing I would struggled with, is the long hair you can manage to maintain and the hot humidity in SG.

Wish you a happy CNY! You look beautiful in the qipao! Also, I feel it's not just Chinese, but many people these days don't care much about tradition. I belong to the Bengali ethnicity in India and we have our own new year. I don't celebrate it much either, mostly because I stay away from family and it's not much fun alone. I agree with you that traditions (the harmless ones altleast imo) need to be followed so they are not erased. I am inspired to do something this year when my new year rolls around in April. :)
