We conquer Toquerville Falls in a Stock Suspension Dodge 2500
มุมมอง 812 หลายเดือนก่อน
Considered an "easy" trail by Utah standards we set out to see if we could make our way up to the falls. The first part seemed deceptively easy. Then came the ledges. After a bit of a challenging middle section we nearly gave up, after all this IS our haul truck and we were several thousand miles from home. Luckily we decided to keep going at least until the next obstacle. As it turned out, the...

A basic, convenient(if slightly odd?) stop over in Mississippi with a nice general store near by. One of our strangest experiences with check in at an RV park. We didn't see the owners until several days into our stay and were not really given directions as to what to do on arrival. Affordable and quiet pull through sites with a safe feel make this a nice stop over. Lack of activities in the ar...

Thanks Ryan for the video! Game changer for the ROSIE/HB/BARC line of equipment. Looking forward to controlling the equipment as well as monitoring.
Great move working with Solar Assistant and using that for your monitoring! It also allows you to have monitoring if you don't have internet either.
All of your comments are spot on!
It certainly is one of those hitches that just works for us, it has a few quirks but
Do you still work for midnight solar?
Yes I do
Cool Truck! I am rebuilding mine in an 87 Silverado v20, thanks for you video!
Love the old square body chevy's for sure. Keeping my eyes open for a 4 door long bed to Cummins swap
Reccenlty bought this metabo it came from United States to México the blade come bend and the electric break sound like a scream 😢 UPS didnt take care of the package
Sorry to hear that there was damage to your saw. Shipping seems to be getting rougher every year.
Thanks for sharing
Hope it was helpful for you
Cool to look this bed build from a scratch! I justed took Fiat Ducato three side dump bed, with subframe and hydraulics and installed on my shitbox OBS. I have a squarebody cab also that i plan to put there, if i get there, I Will make a video of it!
It was a fun project for sure
Did you have to change the front brake lines from a normal size?
No I relocated the mount for them
first time commenting. Wow, I have been wrong all these years, natural forces could not do this, clearly extraterrestrials and ufoes had a hand in it. loving the heat scape as I view it at 13 outside. great stuff, keep it coming!
Some truly amazing beauty to see in this country for sure
Great detailed video merry christmas
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year
Will that cut steel with the right blade?
No, From what I understand the ones that cut steel with the carbide blades spin a lot slower
Thank you sir!!! Saved me a bunch of time and money.
Glad it helped
I enjoyed your video Kudos to you and Camera lady That's a really nice lift
Thank you, We do try
I want to thank you for this video. Very clear explanations and demonstration. I just replaced a failing flooded battery bank with LiFePO4 rack batteries. I have a Midnite 150 Classic, and this video made the reprograming very easy (took 10 minutes, maybe). Thanks again
We find short videos usually seem more helpful than pages of manuals. Glad it helped
I have the same colour combination on my 97 Cummins, I like it. I agree the darker gray on the bottom is an improvement. As to no rattling and squeeking in the cab, it's my experience as well.. It feels solid after 27 years.
Yeah the grey/silver Dodge picked was just to light for me?
Nice job.I bought the 18,000 unit still slowly working on it .
Good luck on the project, we think you will be very happy with the unit
Excellent video! I've had the springs forever and I finally found time to go do them where it's nice and warm in the shop. Figured I'd watch some videos first to make sure I don't miss any steps.
It is pretty simple to do, the one thing I found was to get it right they seem looser than I would expect on installation the 2 clicks ish in that is. To tight and it starts hard (IE you need to give a little throttle). A little diligent fiddling and you can get it to start easy with no throttle.
Great job
Thank You
How much oil do you put in
I want to say right around 1.5 quarts but for sure do not trust my memory LOL
Great explanation of how to time a 12 valve. One of the best Ive seen as well. One question though, I have seen others time past then go back or something to get the gear lash tight. Is this necessary or is it only worth a half of degree or so?
The process shown is only going to be "Close" anyhow so I dont worry about it as a 1/2 a degree isnt a big issue for me. I do have the dial indicator and tools to time it precise by taking out the #1 delivery valve and may try making a video on that at some point as well
Awesome video!! Will look up specs for the 12V 100Ah DJLBERMPW battery.
Sounds good, Glad the video was helpful
From Maine as well 👌
always good to see you two making vids. I hope the mini split keeps you nice and warm when you get back. Ours stops keeping up when temps get down to 20F. Every 5 degree drop means 5 degree drop in house temp. or thereabouts. Enjoy your trip!
The Mini Splits we have (I forget the actual model #s) are a Fujitsu and a Mr Cool. They both seem to work well down below 0F I do notice that the Mr Cool shuts off at about -20F . The Fujitsu keeps running but I dont think it produces any useful heat
So, we're also in Maine, Pembroke to be exact, and we're trying to put up a 24' X 16' greenhouse kit. Like Legos, right? Yeah, welcome to Maine. First step: drive the four 10' 6" X 1⅜" steel corner post poles 24" into the ground. Yup, we had about 6 inches to go with the first one, using a ladder and an 18 lbs. kinetic post driver, before we hit ledge. When we tried the second pole, we got about 5" and that was all she was going to take. Knowing that our 28 acre property was pretty much all shallow ledge, we figured paying someone to get these poles and all future posts in was not something we wanted to have to hire out, delaying whatever project for weeks or months (serious), we decided to add to our tool collection. Dudes, I thought my new cordless DeWalt 800 ft/ lbs impact wrench was gangsta, but wholly cow this thing!! We got the corded version, often my preference with high draw electric tools, which only cost us $460 at HD, and then just over $400 with my military discount! I was honestly a little worried we were going to be disappointed based on all the videos online which all seemed to focus on concrete drilling. You can imagine my delight when I came across this video, which not only talks about using it for drilling through rock, but drilling through the same type of ledge rock in the same state of Maine! I ended up picking up a Milwaukee SDS MAX 1½" x 23" 4-cutter solid carbide drill bit made for concrete with rebar. I figured if it can cut through steel rebar, brittle ledge stone shouldn't be too much of a problem. Anyway, just wanted to let you know that I really appreciated the video, and will be subscribing for more!!
Thanks for the comment and the sub. Hopefully your new drill works as well for you as ours has for us!
@aroundthehomesteadwithsuer3497 I'm in awe as to how well it worked! We had 16 posts and the ones we had to drill into ledge are the most stable! Love it!!
Nice job! Your install is much cleaner than most. Thanks for the video.
I tried, The line set is a little unruly, I wish I had taken the time to shorten it and re flare but I was nervous about making a good flare
Seriously didn’t even do the castle nuts for caster?

@@aroundthehomesteadwithsuer3497 🤣🤣 Sounds like a great channel! Stay safe and enjoy! Merry Christmas!
Stick with Honda or Yamaha. I've had a Yamaha 2000 watt and a 3000 iSEB. The 3000 I had in Maine and it would start every time in sub-freezing temps. Had electric start. No pulling. You get what you pay for. I like his rigged electrical connection between his 30 amp plug and the grounded plug. Only buy an inverter if it already has a 30 amp plug input. A 2000 watt unit is NOT going to run these 13.5k btu AC's. I will run a 5000 or 8000 window unit in small campers with no problem. Might have to install a hard start kit.
Yeah we ended up with a Harbor Freight unit as it rides in the back of our truck all the time we will be less sad if it gets lifted out of our truck while traveling
Im going to have to call midnite support because i never got an option to choose a battery type. It wont let me lower my max voltage either under 30v.
Sounds like it was previously set up for maybe 48v, You will want to do a factory restore ad set it up correctly. Turn off the PV and battery power and wait for it to go dark. Now hold the left and right arrows and apply battery power only. Keep holding the arrows for about 5 seconds after the display lights. You should then get the screens asking for battery type and settings etc
@aroundthehomesteadwithsuer3497 I tried factory reset and it worked I guess. It's still won't let me drop the max voltage below 28.9v for float. I'm trying to set up for my power queen battery that shows it 100% at 27v. I believe midnite hasn't ruled in real lithium charging if you can't actually control the voltages. Also I connected my whizbang jr. And it shows my battery at 100% at 26.4 but it should only be at 60 or 70 percent from storage. I'm feeling like agm was the way to go. Yes I'm going by the parameters power queen has suggested for the battery. I'll keep trying to figure it out. I'm calling support today for a full rundown to make sure the kid isn't faulty. Also after auditing my whole system and checking all connections, when I trip my breakers for my pv array the kid still shows incoming voltage at 23.4v but no amps and says resting. My dad has one wired the same way and his never did that. I'm on the stress train lol.
@@enki2gold Something is definitely odd as Float should be allowed to go almost to 0v. As for the WBjr did you program the capacity and the efficiency and has it gone through a complete charge cycle? Definitely call Midnite, I would ask for Shawn or Jim Parish
These particular years of Malibu (2008-2012) are such a nightmare to work on! Whoever designed this car needs to be kicked in the nuts 😂
Yes over my years I have seen a few WTF moments that caused me to hate some engineers on the vehicle lol
I had a 2500I craftsman, First time I ran it, no problems, Ran it about 15 mins. the next time I went to used it, would not start. Had to clean the carb. Carb appeared to had a brown greasy substance in the bowl. Once cleaned been running great.
Yeah that could be what was going on with this one but it was used out of the box and would not reliably even start a basic skill saw
I have never run a repeater and have obtained one from an estate of an SK. The station was disassembled before I arrived. How can I identify which duplexer bank is the transmit and which is the receive. I.E. high pass and low pass? if I hook them up incorrectly logic says I can't burn either out but I want to be safe. Also, How much power can the filters handle? The station had a 250 watt 2 meter amplifier but I don't think it was being used at the SKs last years. Thank you, great video.
Honestly if I was in your shoes I would find an Elmer close by that will assist in setting up the repeater. You have a ton of moving parts to setting up a repeater and at that power level its a lot harder vs say 10-25 watts. Check with the local radio club some one will be more than happy to assist I am sure
Why leave the filter loose, just crack a fuel line open at the pump. Way easier with less mess
I guess my theory is, either is going to leak fuel out and the filter is already loose. Mucking with the feed line just chances a gasket leaking or cracked fuel line.
Did u get the p0300 code?? I have this code and im thinking its the valve cover gasket because i change my spark plug and there was bit of oil
No at that point I had no codes it was just high enough in age and miles I thought I should change the spark plugs and found a couple of them swimming in oil
I would put the top part under & bottom on top
Yes long term I agree, I didn't have enough metal to do it right at the time I just needed a fix for the moment
Does this prevent over heating? I have a 2010 blows cold air n heat n thermostat bounces . Where do i start?
No this just keeps the valve cover from leaking oil
Nothing better than an adventure off road and being careful knowing you can walk up the hill and hit a cell tower. Bryce Canyon in that area is beautiful but make sure you understand how tight the roads are and heed to RV trailer warnings, etc. Enjoy and be safe. Gary in SE Michigan
It was beautiful country and we had a ton of fun, we will go back int he future
Yes, mine is a total Piece of SHIT!!!
Yeah, unfortunately it seems to be a common theme. Some have good luck with them and others dont.
Is it safe to put bigger tires on the zforce 800 trail By
I suspect you could, I really am not qualified to say if its going to be a problem long term. As with anything like that altering the product changes everything.
Thanks for this! This is my tutorial for adjusting ‘cans’ using my nanoVNA.
Glad you found it helpful
it works much better than it did!
You cant run air conditioners on these things, ive tried. Even my 5KW welder/generator cant run an air conditioner for some reason, thats why they make those soft start things.
Thanks ATH. I am up and running after a good clean but have a cracked recoil spring retainer. Will be good till parts get here
Right on
Bought this little guy for Hurricane Milton down here in FL. I did experience the slow-to-ramp-up issue that is described a bunch on this unit when trying to run a 5000 BTU AC. Inevitably, it would lead to the AC compressor not having enough current at startup and would not run. All I did was increase the idle set screw a tiny bit on the carb and it fixed all those issues. Seems to run smoother at idle as a result anyhow. Putting it out there so people don't feel like they wasted a bunch of money since it doesn't come with an eco-mode switch (would be nice if this one had it though). Overall happy with the purchase.
I got mine today, they told me i have to use E-85, is dat correct?
Generally that is advised when possible for small engines to avoid gasoline with ethanol. It does not stay stable as long and can be prone to causing more corrosion. I am not aware that this specific model has any exceptions to that.
Brother, thank you so much paused the video to let you know how helpful this is and how many ideas Im getting 😀.
Thanks so much for the positive feedback!
Thong long spacer is for the cone bushing on the front upper shock it goes against the outside of the frame
Older video but by doing this will this eliminate air leaks which means no need to do a delete kit!? Thanks.
That a tough call, If I had today's knowledge then I would have just put the power driven diesel hot rod lift pump on as it deletes the complete thing and gives me the fuel pressure I need
hows the saw held up mines arriving today
No troubles so far!

What washers size to weld?
You would want to size them to the bolts. A lot of washers thay say they are X size are actually sloppy on the bolt. You would likely be well paid to find heavy duty washers and drill them to the exact size.
