Nice to see Canadian and Ukrainian flags in a field. Rescently I did complete 200km in a harsh rainy weather and that just a made an interesting adventure. Here in Ukraine we had no hope to ride a famous Paris-Brest-Paris due to war but enjoying to explopre our own countryside. Evil russians(each of them) would pay for what they did.

Hi Regan, I enjoyed riding with you. I think if I had it in me to do it again, I would so that there was no question about it. I would also , however, take the information from the lost ride (spedd,distavce/etc) and manually upload that information and mute the ride on strava. This way you have a relatively accurate accounting of your overall yearly stats. Cheers!

It's easy 600km is 36 hours tops with no sleep. Then if doing a 1200 km audax just ride 36 hours sleep 8 hours and ride another 36 hours that gives you loads of time

I found the food at controls was not great. The villages on the way had no cafes/ shops to get food either. Western France is a food desert. First morning at a control I was served a bowl of coffee an apple turnover and a slice of cheesecake. What? For breakfast!! Was delighted to find a McDonalds at one stage. But it was a great experience and I will be back in 2027.

Wow. I did same when i realised that my mate who had struggled with sunstroke was going to finish. Fastest 200, 400 and 600km. First two days were bonkers fast. Was a road and track racer 20 years ago ...that helped.

I could never see the point of a 4 or 5am start as you would never get any sleep the night before the start. I prefer to start in the evening and ride through the first night instead of lying awake waiting for a 4 am start. Also can’t see the point of the 80 or 84hr groups. Good interview.

I am so pleased to see Deirdre recognized for her wonderful accomplishments. She is truly an inspiration, and I am so proud to have met and ridden with her in as a member of the BC Randonneurs. After hearing about Nigel's illness seeing them both at the finish was a truly an amazing moment. I was happier for them finishing that I was for myself! Fingers crossed she will be up to the challenge again in 2027.
