My buddy sent me this, and it was what got me to watch the show. The op piqued my interest, but this sold me on it Well worth the watch
This video doesn't really do this clip justice, because there is nothing else in this show quite like this moment. You watch the entire show and then this scene comes out of nowhere and suddenly the atmosphere and pace have completely changed and taken on a solid and serious tone that the show has never really played before. This scene really stuck with me and a lot of other people, not just because it was a cool scene, but because of how vastly different it felt from the rest of the show. Even though you know logically it's all a video game created by developers with too much time on their hands, something about it just feels special.

I rarely stick around the songs where there isnt some epic moment or something, i believe we are so used to it, but i watched the episode and was like man i gotta find this on YT ASAP. And i havent stopped listening to it since... it is just amazing to see this scene and the song just fits, like old timey stuff, so much so that my vorpal soul is singing too :D

The fucking people in the comment section gettin all mad about the hammer striking the same spot need to know that this scene is from inside of a video game INSIDE OF THE ANIME. It's perfectly logical for the story to have a game use the same animation INSIDE THE ANIME for something as minor as blacksmithing.
Top it off, he is using magic to keep the metal from cooling while he shapes the metal. The song and rhythm of strikes are all a part of a complex mini-game we are so not seeing. Cause, all we see is him, hitting the same spot.

This OST being dropped in on this scene, honestly, is likely one of the most groundbreaking uses of an OST in Anime History. The timing, the presence, the build up, the roleplay interactions, all of it, just led to this thing being sicker than the sickest bass drop of all time.

the anime is Shangri-La Frontier. The guy with the bird head is just playing a full dive VR MMO. He was the first person to find the secret story line in the rare rabbit land event. This whole thing is a cut scene while he gets new weapons.
This is one of the few times that my reaction to an in-show song has been the same as the characters. I love this so much!
This scene feels almost like something out of a Ghibli movie.

No matter how far Anime progresses, they never got passed the "only hitting the same spot over and over" animation.
It is a video game based anime, of course its hitting the same spot, as they do with all video game blacksmiths.

@irmiwolf I didn't give anime in general a pass, I gave this video game anime a pass as it makes sense that a video game would simplify blacksmithing since they are condensing hours and days of work into under a minute.

ther are more ""problems"" with this then just that. just hiting flat side That thin of matarial will get cold in about 15-30 seconds but he hamer on it for almost 3 muinets that will create stress fracture hammerin on cold steel he dose not reshaped in any shape or form matarial gives zero moments handel on hammer to short take it for what it is a very very cool scean out of anime
