Have you tried tying the end of a few slabs together so you are cutting more than one at a time when the end is close just pull the slip knot loose.

Trailer looks great, have you ever looked into reverse osmosis machine for maple syrup would save a lot of time and wouldn’t need as much wood either

I really like your channel I’m glad you’re back, it would be awesome to find a way to keep the totes on the front without needing to get out and put a strap on it

it needs front stabiliizer legs like a backhoe, that are hydraulic down and up.

Where abouts in NB are you located? I need a cord of wood for this winter. My guy had a stroke and hasn't been cutting. The wood I cut won't be ready to burn until next year.

Maybe buy a couple of swimming pool "noodles", cut them to the width of an IBC, make a cut down the length of it, and wrap it around the top rung of the IBC so that if you do bump your head you won't hurt it? And it would also be more visible, so the likelihood of hitting is lower as well? And you could just take the noodle off of whatever IBC that you're working on when done, and move it to the next one. And pool noodles are cheap as well.

Hello. I just commented on one of your other videos, as I've just discovered your channel and am watching a few of your videos. We've got a lot in common. I have 40 acres in the U.P. of MI (obviously not anywhere near as much land as you've got), and have trails cut through some of my property as well. But in the Winter months, those trails have been pretty much off limits to us, unless I ride on them on one of the sleds, because I just don't think our side by side would traverse the trails with that much snow on them. I LOVE this idea though! I think I'm going to have to ask our local welder/fabrication guy make me a drag similar to yours. I could pull it with my 73HP tractor, and hopefully get similar results as you're getting. This way, I could continue driving the tractor or side by side through the woods in the Winter and harvest firewood, during what I consider to be the best time of year to do it, in the Winter. Hello. I just now ran across your videos. I like what I've seen so far a lot! My wife and I live a pretty similar lifestyle as you do. We process firewood, and stack it into IBC's as well. I don't have the level of equipment that you've got, and I don't know that I ever care to get to your "level", but who knows, maybe. I love your log trailer. I've been thinking about building one for myself, but without the hydraulics, just the trailer itself. I figure with my Kioti RX 7320 and grapple, I could just pull the trailer into the woods, unhook, load the logs onto the trailer with the tractor, hook back up and pull the trailer into my processing area. I don't know, that's the plan anyway. I also don't have a processor, I just load my logs onto the bucking table that I've built, and that's working for me so far. The processor would be a big investment, and I just don't know that I want to HAVE TO work processing firewood as much as I would need to in order to justify the price of a processor. We'll see though. Anyway, I like your videos, I'm going to watch a few more now, best wishes to you!

Ergonomics seems to be a new theme at the Oak Mountain. That is a nice platform you built to hold 2 IBC totes up to a comfortable working height while stacking. Best not poke too much fun at the performance of the Karen 3000, otherwise you'll find out that will turn into the Karen zero thousand and you'll be working by yourself. 😁

Nice addition with the Z422. It look so similar to the JD Z740 we got. Kawasaki engine as well. I feel it can well be the same manufacturer for the main components. For the timber trailer, I've found that picking some weight from the tractor helps stabilizing the whole rig. I would pick enough weight to almost lift the trailer wheels when empty, so it counter balance itself. The jiggle you get from the ball hitch is then avoided. Make sure the ball coupler is adjusted tight, not on the loose side. Thanks!

Hello! I am wondering about some things. Just listening to your hydraulics: Do you have free return (one-way valve) because it sounds like it is working against pressure. Then you could maybe restrain the flow, the trailer is made for the small ATV-pack and now you are on another planet regarding hydraulics. These two together could explain that twitching and what looks like on/off functioning... And as you are more and more becoming a Scandinavian viking: If I would be you (I'm not) I'd cut away the ball hitch and go for a revolving eyelet-hitch instead, you have (my opinon!) way too much vertical movement. When you put the supports down it should "lock" the trailer, now it dances around when you use the crane. Compere to the Kranman forwarders: it locks all the moving parts (the "waist") when lifting. And as we are on a roll: A good way for the electrics is trailer outlets/plugs. We have both 7-pin and 13-pin trailer contacts, but then there is the "NATO-model" where you screw it together. Just drill a hole, draw all the electric you need in the cab and mount. Easy to expand/change if needed. And as a becoming fearless Viking: we often hang the hydraulics in the back window and use it a little like you did on the smaller Kubota... You asked for thoughts so had to deliver 🫡😅. Really nice to see and hear from you again 🤗! That thing about Lännen/Huddig was more of a joke if you are not going to start digging full-time 🙄🤭...

I agree with the idea of a raised ramp and platform for your tractor to sit on. I’m sure you could move some dirt around to put that together. That’s the way the pro excavator operators do it. Welcome back!

Glad to see you back. I was wondering where you were. Thinking on the loading of the trailer. What if you had a dock that you could park the trailer up to sideways and then a gentle ramp up to the trailer that would give you the height you need to dump the totes.

Your workaround for dumping totes into the trailer looks just fine. I load seasoned wood from a stack by hand directly into Gaylord boxes( heavy cardboard boxes used for produce in farm stands and at auctions, cost is $10. barely used in SE Pennsylvania USA), then move directly with tractor to my covered deck next to my house. Each box holds about 1/4 cord, easily lifter with subcompact tractor using rear mounted forks. PTO lift capacity much more than front forks. No counter weights needed. Wood is handled only once after splitting and stacking. If you have access to cheap boxes like these, you could deliver in them if the customer has a way to move/place them

Glad you're back. Without a doubt, load the back tires. That will make it more stable, improve traction and safer. Getting a few of those concrete blocks and building a ramp, then pull the trailer next to it. That would give you 2' more hight.

I know you've invested quite a bit into using totes for firewood storage and transport, but this is exactly why I used firewood bulk bags. Less weight, firewood doesn't need to be stacked, the amount is still measured by volume so you know how much is in them, and all you need to do is tip them over the side and gravity does the rest. Just a thought. I use totes as well, but not for something I'm going to be dumping into a trailer or truck. Nice dump trailer!

Nice to see you again, but just one machine? Sounds like a job for Lännen/Huddig/Hydrema. Strong loader, strong back hoe, good hydraulics and good off road capabilities. And as we talk machines: Are you now upgrading the Kranman-trailer? The T5000EX could be the suitable one for that Kubota?

Welcome back Jason and Karen. As other have said, a dirt ramp to get the front end of the tractor higher relative to the trailer would make the whole process much simpler. Make sure to make it before selling the backhoe 😂. Thanks for sharing your experience.

Welcome back. Glad you're making videos again. When did you switch to IBC totes for your firewood storage needs? The sides on your dump trailer are quite high. Do they need to be that high for any reason? It looks like you could carry a full cord of loose fire wood with much lower sides.
