0:56 where's the caulking?
What gun is it you are using?
The HVLP Electric Painting System featured in this video is the POWER-5 VS, a 5-stage turbine system. For optimal results, especially with clear coat applications, a system with fewer than 5 stages may not deliver the desired finish directly off the gun. You can find more information about the POWER-5 VS system here: [maxi-miser.com/product/power-5-vs-auto-turbo-paint-system/]. The spray gun used in this demonstration is the Maxi-Miser 7600 AtomiZer by ApolloSpray.
where should the material adjustment be at as a starting point and what do you look for to see if it needs tweaks. particulary automotive paints.
We suggest you start with the fluid all the way closed and then back out the screw depending on the paint you are spraying. Most paints will spray between 1 and 2 full turns out. I would start with 1 turn and adjust to your comfortable speed at which you would like to move the spray gun. Base coat will apply a little lighter than Clear coats, but both should be applied with no more than 2 full turns of the fluid.
Great tutorial! I could have used it two years ago when I bought my spray system... Lol! But at least it'll be there to help someone else.
Turbine spraying in my opinion is the way to go. Thank you for illustrating that it can be done. Patience and practice is always important. Keep up the great work and shout out to Paint Society and Apollo HVLP for the content.
was the 765 used in this video thinned with water, extender, catalyst? If so what were the percentages of each one used? getting ready to shoot 765 this weekend for 1st time, thru 5 pro LE
this was sprayed straight from the can in the video. Using the PRECISION-5 PRO LE you will only need to reduce about 5% with water on light colors like white. The darker colors are easier to spray and sometimes do not require reduction. Use the 1.8mm with the CHS air cap for best results. Ensure to use the full flow pressure on the turbine.
@@ApolloSprayersHVLP I honestly cannot thank you enough for sharing such specific details and insight, very helpful. So grateful!
@@ApolloSprayersHVLPim so sorry, have reread - but am not seeing whether you catalyze the 765, or use extender?
@@lafos4914 This was sprayed straight from the can without any reduction of any kind. It was not catalyzed.
This was sprayed with the PRECISION-6 straight from the can. A 5-stage will not spray this material very well at all, even with reduction.
how many 1/2 turns from closed do you have your material / fluid knob turned to open? and how close are you holding the nozzle to that island? It looks like it’s only about 2 to 3 inches away, or are my eyes deceiving me? I finally worked up the courage to use my apollo, and I’m trying to dial it in 😢
To achieve optimal coverage and atomization, hold the spray gun approximately 4-6 inches from the surface. Start by adjusting the fan control to its narrowest setting with the fluid knob closed. Gradually open both the fan and fluid controls, adjusting them together to find the ideal balance for your application. For most projects, begin with at least 1-2 full turns on the fluid knob and adjust further based on the size of your spray pattern and the material you're applying. This will help ensure consistent results across different substrates.
There are quite a few parts in the business end of the gun. I was laughing to myself as I disassembled it and looked at all of the parts in a row. Amazing results.
Hmmm. Paintlife go with the highest bidder?
I always wonder why
Best video of what this unit is capable of yet! What we’re the spray gun tip/cap and roughly how open were they running the fluid for the clear coat?
Hey Travis, thank you for your comment! We are spray the clear with a 0.8mm BHS air cap. The fluid is open about 1.25 turns for the appropriate fan size for this job.
How many inches is the pattern
As small as the 1/4" dot you see in the video that Chris is using to write with up to a 12" fan depending on the size of the nozzle.
which system are using to paint those vars that wet with..im looking at the apollo power stage 5 vs or fuji mini mite stage 5?
This was sprayed with our PRECISION-6. You will always get a smoother finish with a 6-stage over a 5-stage.
@@ApolloSprayersHVLP okay just seen the 6stage price 😱 is the power 5 still available
@@suspensefulness Yes, the POWER-5 VS is a current model. You only get the digital controls with the PRECISION-6. We offer Affirm if you want to make interest free payments.
hold up u paint cars with a turbine😮 and candy , whats your youtube channel

now i need to decide between fuji n apollo car painting
Apollo for the win! You won't beat the quality and performance of an Apollo system!
now i need to decide between fuji n apollo car painting🤷🏾♂️
What systems do you have in mind?
@@ApolloSprayersHVLP i've been researching like crazy even talking to reps from both sides🤷🏾♂️ im only gonna be using it for base coat/ clear coats..and liquid wrap paint like autoflex.. stage 5 of course looking at the mini mite 5 and the apollo power stage 5 vs ...wanna get one this week
@@suspensefulness The Mini-Mite 5 has the same motor inside as our POWER-5 VS, however that same motors runs at 1/2 the temperature in our POWER case due to the 26 cooling louvers vs. 6 in the Fuji and automotive filters vs. foam pads. Our motors run way cooler and as a result they give you more pressure for longer periods of time. If you run a Mini Mite 5 you will constantly waiting for the machine to cool down so you can keep spraying. The hot air will dry your clear coats faster and produce more orange peel. The cooler operations also enables us to offer a 3-year warranty on the POWER VS system vs. 2-year with Fuji. Buy American, not Chinese! Fuji is made in China, not Canada as they would have you think.
u the first to explain that the system works because the gun itself is under pressure i get it
did he just paint a car with a turbine😱
Yes, our turbine systems are made for performance and precision. That makes it easy to spray car paint with an HVLP Electric Painting System. These systems are made with advance cooling to make our spray systems run all day long without losing performance to the frictional heat of the motors.
i can do this or paint cars with the apollo falcon 5 stage
See you there!
I purchased a used Apollo system and visited the Apollo store in Vista, CA today to get some parts and guidance on retrofitting my old HVLP paint guns. Sally Leach was incredible-she spent about an hour with me, explaining everything and helping me find what I needed. In an era where customer service often feels robotic and outsourced, she was a breath of fresh air
This is great to hear! We appreciate your feedback and take all feedback to heart. We are honored to have such great people like Sally on the Apollo team!
fuji q5 or the apollo stage 5 ,i wanna paint cars and clear coat?
The Apollo has more pressure and provides a much cooler running temperature of the motor due to the automotive filtration and 26 cooling louvers. You will be less orange peel with lower motor temperatures and higher spraying pressures. For the best results, check out the PRECISION-6, which has even more power than the 5-stage systems.
@@ApolloSprayersHVLP they have different stage 5 models ,should i stick eith the precision ,thank u for your replys also...
@@suspensefulness We no longer make the PRECISION-5, but we do make a POWER-5 that has automotive filtration and 26 cooling louvers to keep the motor cooler. You will always get better results with clears when using a 6-stage like our PRECISION-6.
@@ApolloSprayersHVLP oh okay im jumpin on the website now
I love the precision-6 Pro! Just started spraying with it and am loving its features! Thanks for a great product!!
Thank you for the comment! We are glad that the PRECISION-6 PRO is everything you wanted it to be!
stage 4 or 5 to achieve this
With Base coat it won't matter you can spray it with either a 4 or 5-stage system, however clear coat will usually always demand the power of the 5-stage or more.
@@ApolloSprayersHVLP thank u ..im a go stage 5 or these the same as fuji Q5 🤷🏾♂️
@@suspensefulness Our systems are not the same as the FUJI systems. Our systems provide a much cooler operating temperature that results in more consistent spraying pressure and ultimately a better finish. There is nothing equal to an Apollo system and it will always give you better performance than any other brand. That's part of the reason we make everything at our factory in California and back it up with industry leading warranty!
Can you spray thick coatings like latex paints and primers without thinning?
Not very well...you will have to thin them a little bit with 5-stage power. That's why our PRECISION-6 is better suited for spraying thicker finishes like Latex. It has about 12% more power than the PRECISION-5 and will atomize thick paints much better.
Where are you located?
Our factory is in Vista California, but this video was shot in Uvalde Texas.
@@ApolloSprayersHVLP I'm trying to buy a ranch hand bumper but have it painted a specific color
Set up my 7700 gun today with the cc cap the 0.5 needle and the 0.8 nozzle. 4 to one clear. Sounds like a screwy set-up,right?? Well, I wanted a smoooooth finish that matched the finish on a Miata. 2 fenders with blended silver paint. So with the very fine atomization each pass was 100 percent overlap about 3 times before moving down 50 percent, then 3 passes again. It might have been slower, but the result was just what I wanted. Just about no trash. Smooth finish. Orange peel right where it needed to be. In an open garage, not a booth. I converted to 100 percent turbine painting just this year. Took some trial and error, but I got it figured out and working for me👍
Thank you for sharing!
I was having this issue while at a job ready to spray. Thanks for the video.
Interesting...technique...
Why do you have the 0.8 air tip with that cap is there a special reason rather than the green one
Most paints are high solids, making the BHS (High Solids) cap more effective. The primary distinction are the small air holes around the center hole. The A air cap features these small holes, whereas the BHS air cap does not.
Thank you for this explainer. Would a HVLP sprayer work for a small room (300sq. feet)?
What paint or material do you want to spray?
@@ApolloSprayersHVLP In this particular instance it would be a simple latex-based paint (like Benjamin Moore) on the walls. Other instances, I'd like to possibly refinish furniture with different stains/paint finishes. Not opposed to lacquer. I even discovered this matte water based paint from Icro that looks wild! I don't know if the Precision 6 would be overkill, or if I could do ok with the 5.
What color is that
We didn't record what color was being sprayed that day, sorry we don't have that information.
That shows the efficiency of the spray gun. You do not see the paint because it is all going straight to the panel with no overspray. That's a benefit to HVLP Electric Painting Systems!
You're saving a lot of paint on that job since none is coming out of the gun. LOL
All those lights and you still have a shadow exactly where your supposed to have light 😂

He is spraying KMK clear using the 0.8mm Needle/Nozzle and the BHS Air Cap.

i think this is the issue i’m having. i have a unit with very little hours . that was shutting down. put on the shelf and went back to my mini mite 5 . thanks for the video maybe now i can put this machine to use . i love your spray guns that’s all i spray with for the last 5+ years.

HI there.. I'm trying to pick up some spray skills and have purchased an Apollo 1500-3s.. can I use any kind of gun with this.. I'm wondering if the turbine won't relieve air pressure when trigger is off.. Derek, Scotland, UK
Your 1500 is made in the UK by Apollo Sprayers, UK. You should be able to use any kind of turbine spray gun with this model. You cannot use compressed air spray guns with a turbine.
@@ApolloSprayersHVLP excellent... Thanks..
Interesting video. Instead of using the turbine air control, why doesn't it make more sense to increase the turbine more than needed and fine tune it with the valve on the gun?
Since turbine motors are 100% duty cycle it's better for the motor to reduce the speed of the motor to achieve a lower air pressure. With our digital control you can more accurately replicate your finishes over and over. You also keep the motor running cooler, which will increase the life of your motor. Rather than having it running at 100% all the time and creating more heat, which will reduce the life of the motor.
Thanks for the great video! What would happen if I spray without the Air Cap Seal installed?
Your spray gun would leak air from around the air cap ring and you would not get proper fan adjustment. The head of the gun physically doesn't fit together properly without that part.
Thank you sir any info to get the optimum performance is appreciated.
Does this have the PowerPause feature? I have the Precision 5 Pro and when spraying large surfaces like table tops it kicks in at 20-25 seconds. I had to switch to my 1040VR to finish the job.
Yes, the PRECISION-6 PRO has the PowerPause feature. All our Precision turbines have this feature as it adds life to the motor by keeping it cool. The older systems went into PP at around 30 seconds. We have now increased that time to 60 seconds, which is good to get around those larger jobs you mention. You just have to release the trigger at least once every 60 seconds.
