0:38 this happened to me. I was thrown out over similar circumstance. Luckily i was let back in. 10 years later I was working as an IT systems engineer and uplifted the whole family from poverty. The boomers are so incredibly dumb.
The only time I've ever used a storage unit was in Cairns, and the inside of that thing was like a freaking sauna. Clearly, you had different challenges, but in the Tropics it would be hell on earth,
It was definitely cold some nights since it was winter, though I can always warm myself up. The Tropics sounds horrid to be in one!!
Great video and a very intersting story well told.
£90 per month for a storage unit that large? Crikey, these days round here you easily pay £500 for that!
If it helps, it was half price for the first 2 months 🤣
Storage units cost as much as flats nowadays. £100 per week for an 8 foot by 8 foot room.
Must have been a rich kid all that travelling
I’m glad you found somewhere safe to stay, but it saddens me that this is where our society has found itself. You’re a smart young man and I know you’re headed towards good things!
The amount of liabilities for the business owner is terrible. If something happened to you in there it would be on them.
You're wrong, the business owner is not liable at all because they were totally unaware of the misuse of their premises...just as they would not be liable if they had no knowledge that a criminal was using a storage unit for storing stolen goods.
boo hoo poor storage unit owners, cry me a river, lmao
Go gotta do the south bro I mean I fall in love with this land when I see the south island and I was born here awesome words for our beautiful home
I was home less last year sucks big time only because I was veteran got help with housing and a surgery on my right leg 😷
Come back soon! So glad you enjoyed it here
My uncle moved from here in NZ to the UK. Has a flat in London of all places XDDD He'll come back every few years or so to visit. But tbh I don't tend to go far North of Hastings or Hamilton where the fam are. My dad though all over, we grew up doing road trips from Otago up to a-town over a three days every off year we didn't go over seas for. I love talking to other well traveled people. I have no idea how many countries I've been in. Before I turned 5 I had seen too many countries for a kid my age. But I love hearing how much others come here and love NZ. If it feels like home to you, you should do the thing ya know.
Much love from new Zealand bro no were else I'd like to be ❤
Try our fish n chips they will All Black kick your taste buds back to the UK then back to Aotearoa again😂 Annnd….. When you say “Taupo” pronounce it as “Toe Paw”
The fish for sure, but NZ just doesnt do chips like in the UK.
@ one or the other buddy.. I agree UK chips are lit!!!😛
You missed the Hamilton Gardens.
I use to think New Zealanders were cool but come on some random dude glazes your country and you all come out the woodwork. Embarrassing.
Cant beat new Zealand mate keep trying 🤣
hard night with the boyfriend cuzz....
Oliver, if you are seeing this comment, could you reach out to me by email? I reached my daily limit of emails on TH-cam, so I can't see yours. But you seem to embody the "survival network" and "end-of-the-world lifestyle" that is the core of a project that I'm working on. Maybe we can do business in the future, so let's keep in touch.
Good on you for going North of Auckland. So many tourists miss one of the best parts of our country. Your partner clearly knows her Aotearoa.
Sad to see you go bro. Yes it's pretty good here 'eh The South Island is even better for scenery but is colder so unless it's Summer time should you visit down here rug up also around rivers bring insect repellant thows sand flies bite that's the female ones mainly during spring because they lay eggs and need food for there young.
Taupo bro, pronounced 'toe-paw'🙈 you may need help with your Māori words but that's okay, I believe in you; and the cost of living is expensive here especially for tourists!😬 Don't fall for the lies.🙈
If you want to live here dont come and hate Maori culture embrace it and it will embrace you❤
DONT fly off the skytower dont be crazy . Go Bunji down South Island instead . Tho both crazy ideas 🥹
Both might be crazy, but both I'll do
AND YOU DID NOT GO TO WHITIANGA EITHER 🤨 lots of beautiful places in Nth Is but South Island is AMAZING . 😍
I did go there actually, just not everything was on video
At least you used the correct name for our country!
If anyone asks me what "aotearoa" means I tell them it is maori for "welcome to" ... "welcome to New Zealand" ... they love that.🤣
Love my country, have lived in the Uk & loved it. But 💯 glad I came home and had my family here. Thank you for awesome video.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Australia, NewZealand, England, France, Luxembourg, Belgium, Germany I think that’s it…. For now
Gotta get some more countries under your belt!
That’s normal
Then why Kiwis moving to Australia and UK?
Many people worldwide are moving for change.
Kiwi's move to another country so they don't have to pay back their student debt for University. don't be a clown it's always been like that.
I want to move to Canada Australia isn’t my thing at all
@@Wolfstone999 I love Canada, it's such a beautiful country
Price of goods and services are roughly the same for Aus & NZ but easier to get a job in Aussie they also get higher wages. NZ's a beautiful country but the greenery ain't paying the bills.
Why doesn’t she want to move? Scared of change or something else? You sound like someone who would make a great addition to Aotearoa. 🍔🇳🇿😺
Thank you, and life isn't always easy - many things to consider.
Aint quite the nz experience if you havent had seagulls pestering you 😂 Glad you enjoyed youre time here bro
I could say the same about England 🤣🤣
Thank you Oliver, it was very interesting to see your experience and opinions of my country - your closing words nearly made me cry. It's not often that a country can have that effect on someone, so I hope you do come back and see if it works out - good luck for whatever the future holds for you.
Thank you so much for your lovely comment 💓 I'll definitely be returning in 2025
AMERICANS you are not allowed y'all voted for him you cannot escape.
Without seeing the South Island you haven’t seen New Zealand. You saw the Auckland tourist part only. I’m not a South Islander; just go places NOT on the tourist map. It’s stunning and the people are amazing.
We didn't go to just Tourist areas; I spent alot of the time (not featured in the videos) going to non-Tourist places that my son's mother showed me
The north island is crap compared to the south, once you experience it it's hard to dispute.
Missed the mainland
I'll cover all of NZ if my life depends on it 😍
I eat 3 meals a day but when I eat them depends on what I am doing on social media. I sat down for my Christmas Lunch today at 4pm. I am having Turducken with Carrot Baubles,Potato Parmentier and Tomato Pie.
If you think you love the north island, you haven’t seen anything until you have visited the beautiful South Island. So more picturesque…
I'll be going to the South Island in 2025!!
I wish all kiwis thought this highly of our beautiful country. Come if can bro, we'd love to have you.
Maybe one day!
Welcome cuzzie! Pita pit is just subway in a pita bread. You were about 100m away from KiwiKai, you could've had hanging bro.
Well you're giving me a reason to go back 😅
Born and bred nz been every where in the north (not everywhere) never ever been down south and im 47, im a kiwi and haven’t seen my own country like wtf
You need to make it down south then!!!
I moved 'down south' in 2017 after being born in and living in the north island, mostly Waikato, all my life. Will never move back, everything is better here in Marlborough, wide open spaces with few people, laid back and more beautiful than anywhere else I have been. At 73 have finally found my home.
Which 25 countries have you been to?
1.England, 2.Scotland, 3.Wales, 4.Northern Ireland, 5.Republic of Ireland, 6.Iceland, 7.France, 8.Spain, 9.Monaco, 10.Italy, 11.Germany, 12.Poland, 13. Bosnia and Herzegovina, 14. Montenegro, 15. The Netherlands, 16. Canada, 17. China, 18. New Zealand, 19. Ukraine, 20. Moldova, 21.Romania, 22.Bulgaria, 23. Turkey, 24. Denmark, 25.Belgium
If this is truly how you feel about our country, then come home, bring your son home. Pack up your life in England and move here.
It's so tempting! I want the life down under, but it's not that easy when his mum won't move 🤣
Is it true that ALL NZ BANKS DO NOTaccept any foreign or domestic checks anymore... and that all incoming funds have to be sent electronically ???
It's true we don't use cheques, I can't remember the last time I saw one. We've had person to person online bank transfers for about 20 years. We've had debit card facilities at every store for even longer. No-one writes out a piece of paper that has to go from bank to bank to get your money, we have it in under a second.
True although I don't know about some foreign banks. Debit/credit cards, Apple pay and more, haven't used cheques for years and do all bill paying online.
Why are your shorts so short? I have seen other channels where the shorts are much longer and more like a long video.
my great great grandfather immigrated ere when they were colonizing Australia and NZ and im glad he did 4th generation South Pacific Islander and im reasonably content. Havent really missed out on that much. All the stand up comedians come here eventually, all the big bands come here eventually the giant stadium is being built in Christchurch now 2nd largest city in NZ located in South Island and simultaneously a massive court theeatre is being built in town for live shows and plays. I dont feel im really missing out on much living on this pacific island above the Antarctic.
Your rite I love our home no no doubt on any given day that I ever regret living here and the only other place I’d live is Aussie cos NZ & Oz are inline in terms of lifestyle with the exception that is a tad faster and better pay I stil would prefer NZ but I love me Ozzie Cuzzie’s too
You also wont find a safer place to raise your kids, either. You hear stories about how this place is safer than this place, and that place even more so, but the most dangerous things we have here, are a couple of spider species and general sea-life youd expect around the region. Anything else is just general knowledge of "dont do it" like play around what few cliffs we have, or going out into the bush without knowing what youre getting into. Hell even our gang members would be ride or die for you as long as youre respectful. Being from here though, im a bit jaded towards what we have to offer because ive seen it day in and day out so cant appreciate it as much as someone from the outside could, so im glad youre able to see everything we can offer, and in just a small corner of the country no less.
Only. An idiot would be in Ukraine
You went to Tauranga and did not go to Mount Maunganui. What?
Don't get me started!! We were limited on time :(
Funny as kiwis we like to rant on about how stuffed the country is and then a foreigner comes along and says "OMG absolutely I want to move here" I blame the Gummint :-)
Try England and we'll talk where's worse Kiwi's 🤣
@@OliverBulezuik My Daughter born in Auckland lives in London and has UK residency, its a funny old world.
Funny how the other half live rite…. You grow up either here or Aussie and all they wanna do is head to London…… what is that about ? From anywhere you look all three countries are golden tickets but also polar opposites
I have never been out of Australia but Tasmania has direct flights to New Zealand so maybe one day I will get there
You definitely should dude!!!
I have never been out of NZ, I have never found a good enough reason why I would want to. Could no abide being with groups of tourists when these days you can 'visit' a lot of countries via the computer. Better for the environment too!
