7 big bells at the same time is harder than it looks 😅 but I'm glad we got to play for you our dear Church Family. Take care, may God be with ya'll, and we hope to see you again
“Extended Deadline” - Pastor Abel Hagan Borrowed time. We are terminal without God His authority and our dependence are eternal 2 Chronicles 32:25 King got sick, prayed, +sign Ecc. 3:1,2 seasons Heb. 9:27,28 Appointment 2 Kings 20:1-11 Hezekiah not ready for his wake up call @ 39 God says to all of us "set your house in order" "Your House" is all within our responsibility Joshua 24:15 #1 priority task: commit heart Psalms 46:1 prayer natural for believer pray-er God heard, heals + said you're going to church Messages were unusual and so was the sign Isaiah 39:19-21 King says "I'm alive, I'll praise" Our deadline is extended, let's prioritize praise Let's do all we're asked, and set house in order.
“We Are Thankful” - Pastor Abel Hagan 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18 Be Joyful, be Prayerful, be Thankful! Don't wait! Don't stop! 1620 Ship Experience 1621 Celebration Their Hardships were horrible but their Thanksgiving was remarkable and memorable! Thank you implies accepting God's gifts: Our ships come in, accept and say thank you! Creator-ship Genesis 1:27,28 Guardianship Psalms 34:7 Leadership 1 John 5:3 Ownership 1 Corinthians 6:19,20 Companionship Hebrews 13:5 Title-ship John 14:1-3 Relationship John 15:9,11,13 Will you be Joyful, Prayerful, and Thankful? Don't wait! Don't Stop!
“Conviction and Expression” - Pastor Abel Hagan He was a leader and reader of men but one of the most unlikely to give such an expression of trust. He was the heathen executioner, a Roman Centurion. Matthew 27:27-31 Even after the orders had been V.26 given, the soldiers continue their mockery through pretended worship. 1/2 worship is no worship! Matthew 15:8,9 The centurion and soldiers subdue the thieves and lead the way to Golgotha. No cursing or complaining escape the lips of Jesus, only a prayer. This day must not have brought satisfaction for a job completed. Although it's doubtful He heard the words of Jesus in John 12:32, but God was at work in his heart! The soldiers gambled away his robe as the religious elite continued to jeer. V.42 Darkness closes in, Jesus struggles V.45,46. Luke 23:46,47 The Centurion struggles to understand as he hears Jesus last words. There is an earthquake and suddenly under complete conviction: He exclaims Matthew 27:54 Truly, this was the Son of God! He could not keep from expressing his faith; how about you? We who under conviction, who believe, who spend time beholding Jesus will give God glory in expression! Both in what we say, and what we live, we will worship God!
“Work Prospered” - Pastor Abel Hagan God promised final success. Isaiah 51:11 It was real work, they faced real enemies, it was a real accomplishment and there is a real parallel. All their challenges were a part of restoration process in reformation and relationship! Nehemiah 2:20 The answer to enemies anger, and accusation is: God will prosper our work. Nehemiah 3:5 Beware of Passive Opposition Nehemiah 4:4,5 The Christian is to walk and work so closely to God that we share enemies. Nehemiah 4:14-16 Attack thwarted. The sooner they know and we know: God can bring enemies plots to nothing - the better. Nehemiah 6:2-6 attacks shift and get personal Nehemiah 6:9 Pray for strength and courage The captivity was result of broken relationship. The restoration would be of no value without the relationship restored. Revelation 22:25,27 Heaven has open gates; but not all will enter. Revelation 20:7,8 the saved are over-comers Revelation 12:11 they overcome by blood of the Lamb and they are committed to follow Him.
“Boundary Restored” - Pastor Abel Hagan Nehemiah 6:15,16 God's into restoration. He's working to do that physically and spiritually for Nehemiah and a group of exiles returning to their homeland. He's able to restore us! It's miraculous, and we are going to be able to see the hand of God in His restoration projects. The book begins with a question about the present state of survivors and Jerusalem. Them being in great distress and reproach is worse than the walls being broken. Nehemiah prays as his heart is touched by the news. His prayer includes: 1. Praise for who God is, 2. Repentance -personal and corporate 3. Reminder they are the ones redeemed 4. Asking to prosper (which means fulfilling heaven's goals - Psalms 1:3) and 5. Yielding to God's will which continues throughout the experience.... Nehemiah, a cupbearer in the Persian palace could have requested just to pray from afar, but as his heart is moved, he requests to get involved personally. His requests include: time to see the rebuilding accomplished, permit letters, and required timber. He sees the granting of his requests indicative of God's blessing. Unlike his contemporary, the priest Ezra, he is accompanied by soldiers for the journey. As he nears the site, the news of his work reaches their enemies who become "deeply disturbed." Although there is trouble brewing, in the end God will glorified not only by the accomplishment of the project, but by the meeting of challenges along the way. The enemies will become both additional means to this, and witnesses to this as well. God wants to prosper us to accomplish His good purposes, our prayerful dependence and cooperation with Him will be blessed!
Which Bible version is the sermon from?
“Clean House” - Pastor Abel Hagan Jesus @ church= revelation and reformation 3 years separate wedding cup and last cup the first and last cleaning on temple in gospel accounts reveal a strikingly similar message. John 2 account of 1st Passover of public ministry Christ enters with worshippers, priests, and dealers. Unrecognized, He is the One represented by each sacrifice. He stands against misunderstanding and misrepresentation about the sacrifice. He announces His mission to cleanse the heart of defilement of sin. 1 Corinthians 3:16,17 Micah 7:19 Why is Christ's zeal not common? Psalms 69:9 Could there be something out of priority? Where would Christ begin if cleaning today? Verse 18-22 conviction of Holy Spirit had come but being refused, they demanded a sign. Jesus gave a prophecy of their purpose and his resurrection. Later they'd remember and understand. Sometimes we want a miracle so badly. God will you do something? He did at the cross and it's enough for you and me and all who believe!
“Whispers of Dissent” - Pastor Abel Hagan Exodus 11 includes the calling of 70 elders as suggested by Jethro and confirmed by God. Exodus 12 reveals God's displeasure to discontent, jealousy and insubordination. Miriam is the sister of Moses who watched the basket boat, Exodus 15:20 the prophetess who leads the woman in singing. Aaron, also with supportive leadership role, reveals in Exodus 32 that he's the brother slow of speech when it comes to standing up for right at golden calf episode. They criticize Moses and his wife becomes collateral damage. Galatians 3:6,7,26-29 God hears whispers for help and of discontent. Moses meekness was learned in wilderness. It was revealed in his conversations with God and dealings with others. God refers to Moses as "My Servant". Good and faithful servants expect to enter into the joy of their Lord. God, who often tells people to not be afraid because He's with them, asks why they're not afraid to criticize Moses. He's not for criticizing and complaining, and not with them in that. 1 Timothy 5:1,2,19 Miriam becomes leprous, Aaron confesses their sin, and Moses prays for her. God heals her but she must spend 7 days in the wilderness before returning to camp, content to not be leprous. Moses served by calling of God to a special role and He led by humbly following God. Would you like God to lead your life? Would you like God to be able to call you "My Servant?" Everyday and everyday let's humbly ask God to have His way in our path and be 100% committed and content in that.
“At Church With Jesus” - Pastor Abel Hagan Luke 4:16-30 coming home to Nazareth... Christ and Paul's Custom Acts 17:2 At church, reasoning, from the scriptures. Would we be expected at church w/ Jesus? Customs reveal our priority and relationship We can send a clear message and example Jesus reads scripture - relevant & relatable Prophecy fulfilled - understood but refused. They wouldn't believe: further personal prophecy given Matthew 27:40-43 Elijah passed many widows to Zeraphath Elisha passed over many lepers to heal an undeserving and hated Syrian, Naaman. God shows up at work where He's accepted. The Bible is not a rejection story! Rejection of His Word is rejection of Him and quickly becomes an attempt to destroy... Do we follow God or try to push Him around? He went His way. There's no contest except the one in Revelation 3:20 heart invitation Being with Jesus at church will remain relatable, relevant, challenging & rewarding!
“7 Great Blunders of the World” - Pastor Abel Hagan John 14:6 Every generation has had a clear choice to make, with enough evidence to make the right decision. There will be results with impact for the future. At the Fall: Genesis 2:9,17 Genesis 3:4-6,15,19,24 At the Flood: Genesis 6:3,5,8,9,13,14 Matthew 24:38,39 At the Tower: Genesis 11:1-9 2 Corinthians 6:16-18 Revelation 18:1-4 At the Wilderness: Numbers 13:32-14:4 Hebrews 3:12-15 At the Captivity: Joshua 24:14,15,31 2 Chronicles 36:15,16 At Rejection: John 1:11,12 John 3:19 1 Corinthians 10:11 At Final Appeal: 2 Peter 3:3-7-13 John 14:6 One day soon rejection and mockery of God will cease. The curtain will close on this world. Those who accept Jesus Christ, the Way, the Truth, and the Life will be saved. Those who insist on rebellion and going their own way will be lost. In the relatively short meantime, God is pleading with us!
“Deliverance Is On The Way” - Pastor Abel Hagan Esther 4:13,14 Esther 4 begins Mordecai & countrymen mourning at learning of their death decreed. Esther won't be safe because she's positioned in the palace, but because she trusts in God. God's people fast and pray while Esther resolves to request safety of her people at personal risk of life. Isaiah 6:8, Isaiah 65:24 Haman and the king are invited for a banquet. Haman, at the advice of his wife and friends builds a 75' gallows for Mordecai. King Xerxes cannot sleep but hears records read of Mordecai's plot foiling, lifesaving deed. He determines to reward and honor him while Haman comes to request permission to hang Mordecai. Instead he finds himself leading the honored Man through the city. Proverbs 16:18 At 2nd banquet Esther requests the saving of her life and the life of her people. Haman, the enemy is hung on the gallows he himself built. In the end, the devil's attempt to harm God's children will be turned upon himself. God will be glorified for delivering His people! We see God at work in unmistakable providences. We see Christ-likeness in the selflessness of Esther. And we see Christ's mission exemplified in a final deliverance. Deliverance is on the way, it's unavoidable and unstoppable. Isaiah 61:1-3 Christ alone can give us beauty for ashes, He will turn our mourning into joy! Our Deliverer is coming!
“Providence Amidst Threats” - Pastor Abel Hagan The book of Esther is not about the empire or the Persian King. It bears the name of Esther, who selflessly answers the question posed in Esther 4:14. Although God's name is not directly mentioned, He's providentially working through humanity supplied with divine power toward deliverance of His people. King Ahasuerus is a man of emotional extremes who wishes to show off his kingdom and queen to gain support in the realm during a drinking feast. Chapter 1 he summons men. Vashti knows her husband drunk, and says "no." Upon advice, the king banishes her. Remembering Vashti, the king is advised to hold a beauty contest and make the winner queen. Chapter 2 he summons the eligible women. We are introduced to Mordecai and Esther who God positions to accomplish His purpose. Esther wins and is made queen. Mordecai saves the king and something is written down. Whether we feel like it or not God has a good plan and is working it out. Chapter 3 introduces us to an enemy problem, Haman, who is unsatisfied killing Mordecai, but aims to annihilate all the Jews. A message of their fate is carried to the furthest reaches of the empire in one day. The threat was credible, but powerless against Gods awareness and ability. God's greatest providence was shown on the cross. He's just as invested in our future today. Will we decide to by his grace to accept His offer and be saved with Him?!
“Walk By Faith” - Pastor Abel Hagan John 5:16-18 Jesus understood where this was going. It was the plan. He had absolute clarity. John 5:1-15 Jesus enters by the sheep gate to a multitude hoping for a false human solution. 38 years had left one hopeless and helpless. Jesus asks "Do you desire to be whole?" Superstition and desertion left no other hope. No argument, Jesus commands faith & action. Jesus didn't command something difficult, but something impossible w/o Him. 2 Corinthian5:7 Does your walk with Jesus require faith? Do we find purpose, joy and witness in obeying? Do we go with smile on our face, skip in our step and sincerity in our heart? The criticizers and complainers are out there. We must tell the Good News that Jesus made us whole while obeying His word! Jesus completes the lesson... "Sin no more!" We don't need to see and experience the world more, we need to see and experience Jesus more. It takes no less faith in Christ to rise when we can't than to walk and live for Him. If you've fallen, if you're not walking with Jesus, if people around you are discouraging, if your faith is weak, if you need hope and strength - friend, look to Jesus today!
Channel of Blessing It's not always what we'd expect, but leads to the right destination with Jesus. Matthew 6:13 God's leading is relationship dependent and reminds us of His unfailing presence. John 10 Jesus identifies as the Good Shepherd who gives his life and his word - his own hear and follow. If we know God and trust Him we will follow Him. Proverbs 3:5,6 God doesn't tempt us to sin or set us up for failure James 1:12-16 We can pray through temptation as it is a time of need Hebrews 4:14-16 God knows how to help 1 Corinthians 10:13 2 Peter 2:9 God doesn't remove us from all temptation and trial John 17:15 but delivers us. A trusting relationship and deliverance is what prayer is about for us and others. We will be a blessing to others when we are following the right track. Versus Matthew 15:14 We pray because God is capable, caring, hearing and answering. Our prayer is worship of the One worthy of power and glory and whose kingdom is coming! Micah 6:8 He has shown...Psalms 16:11 He will show... May God keep us in the channel of blessing to be a channel of blessing!
“Bitter or Better” - Pastor Abel Hagan Matthew 6:12 If our idea of forgiveness doesn't require prayer maybe it's not what we think it is. Simultaneous, meaningful clarified Matt 6:14,15 1 John 4:20 love reveals understanding of God Matthew 5:23,24 be reconciled quickly Matt 7:2 golden rule application Psalms 103:12 Micah 7:19 separate sin from sinner How? 1 John 1:9 / Matt. 18:15 1st step personal, peaceful, conversation opened Pretense not God's goal, but healing of heart Look at Gethsemane and the cross to understand forgiveness. Luke 22:44 and 23:34 Christ didn't pray for forgiveness from feeling as they nailed him on cross. It spoke to us of the desire of His heart. That's everything He really wanted for us and everything we really needed. Let's be finding forgiveness, and found forgiving one another too Ephesians 4:32
The Blood Applied The question to be answered in every believers heart is, "am I covered by the blood of Jesus?" 1 Corinthians 11:25 "This is the new covenant in my blood." Here it is, this is what and how it happens: My spilled blood = your salvation. Psalms 105:36-45 Passover meant blessings. But all depended on the blood applied. God had said: Egypt will know I AM the Lord. I will bring you out. I will make a difference between you. Exodus 12:22 Salvation will be accepted. Proverbs 28:13 Don't try to cover up sin. Psalms 32:1,2 Be covered by blood of Jesus. There is power in the blood of Jesus! He defeated the devil and paid our ransom. The New Covenant is the agreement on His part to take care of our sin. Our part is to let him. He'll take our damaged dirty hard heart and exchange it for a clean trusting willing one. Do you want the blood of Jesus applied in your life? Do you accept the new life He gives?
Sermon Notes from Pastor Abel Hagan: “Prayer of Allegiance” - Matthew 6:10 Knowing and trusting our Father God will enable us to pray the prayer of allegiance. To pray "your kingdom come" and "your will be done" is inseparable. God's ultimately wants to take his children home. Early Christians began to use a common greeting of hope and comfort - "The Lord is coming." Main prophecies of Bible focus on 1st or 2nd Advent. Daniel 2 dream and interpreting looks beyond the rise and fall of world empires to a kingdom with no resemblance to earthly and a dramatic and final transfer of authority to God. Daniel 12:1-4 Daniel's prophetic book was to be shut until "the time of the end." It was written before the 1st advent, but afterwards Revelation 10:8-11 prophesied it would be opened. The belief held by a number of Protestant churches that Jesus would come mid 1800's opened the way for disappointment indicated by eating that little opened book that became bitter in the stomach. But that disappointment birthed a greater appointment to go and "prophesy again" that Jesus is coming! Knowing the Father, is to be invested in what He's invested in. We will not pray daily "thy kingdom come" without concern for those distant from God. Philippians 3:12-14 Christians have a high calling. We're called to be soldiers, not mere spectators. Considering the oath of allegiance immigrants take to become legal citizens of our country is amazing. It reminds us of the what and how we ought to be willing to support God's kingdom! Philippians 3:19,20 We ought to know where our allegiance lies, pray, love and live that. If we aren't sharing the good news that Jesus is coming again, do we even believe it? 2 Peter 2:3,4 describes those in direct opposition to Matthew 6:10 prayer, they live to have their own will done and mock the eventual return of the Lord. 1 John 5:14,15 Our prayers reveal whether they are of faith when we desire for God's will to be done. We need to keep God in the drivers seat in our prayers. It's a relationship indicator of saying, I trust you. May God's kingdom come and find us ready to greet him in peace, and living to honor Him!
#1 Father Matthew 6:9 Mathew 6:5-8 hypocrites and heathen alike do not know the Father. The beginning to the Lord's Prayer is Praise. We find Jesus invitation to approach God as "Our Father" characteristic of His prayers Matthew 26 and John 17 Knowing God as our Father is rewarding. He is: 1. Above all - Isaiah 55:8,9 Next level in perspective, understanding and ability 2. Available - Isaiah 55:6,7 God works our repentance, revival, reformation and restoration 3. Attached - not reluctant to be close and invested in us God takes our hand like a parent encouraging a little one to walk 4. Active - Isaiah 40:28-31 God is relentlessly on the move and moving us. His high calling is to go forward 5. Atonement making Isaiah 6:1-8 and Advocating - John 2:1-2 God handles our sin problem with His sacrifice 6. Able to save - Isaiah 59:1 God is ready and capable to deliver us having paid the price for our sins John 3:16,17. Let's praise God for the privilege of being His children John 1:12
Sermon notes from Pastor Hagan:
Asher Creek Boys! Wow
Great sermon...one that we all can use. Thank you so much pastor Phillip.
I love to hear this pastor preach. Glad l remembered his name from a long time ago.
Hello Pastor Sizemore, I know the Holy Spirit is with, for no human being can preach the things you do, and the way you do, without His help. So please keep in mind this is from a brother even though we have never met. To get to the point, you mentioned that Christ did not partake of the bread and juice in the last supper. I don’t know how important it is to mention the following verses, but through your sermons I know you work hard in your bible study to prove all things. Here is something I found and want to share because this has been a question in my thinking. Hope this helps in some way. Thanks for listening. 1 Corinthians 11:24-25. 24 And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me. 25 After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me.
Very informative and inspiring sermon!
Thank you for the upload. It was a blessing. We need more of this king of preaching...
Too bad the sound is glitchy, but what a good message! Thanks, Pastor!
God is neither good nor evil; God is beyond good and evil. sekharpal.wordpress.com/2015/10/24/beyond-good-and-evil/ sekharpal.wordpress.com/2017/04/14/problem-of-evil/
Love this guy's practical grasp on reality...
Incredible
Great work...God bless Adventist mission ...God is coming soon.....i am from India
Thank you for sending this!
If Satan is the Prince of this world (rules the kingdoms of the world) why do you have a flag of one of his kingdoms on your stage? Christians do not have countries , we are in the world but not part of the world ....... Satan rules the Kingdoms of this world and these kingdoms are represented by their flag. The USA is the image of the Beast .....and you are allowing this Beasts (flag) to stand on your stage .... can you have two masters? You are demonstrating that you are worshipping two God's by having the Beast being represented by its flag.
What's a "Mission Trip" (didn't finish the whole video while writing this comment). Like you guys go to a country and Convert people?! "Bring the news of the lord" to us idiots?!
