Hey Guido, Thanks a lot! I appreciate your comment. Well this idea really comes into mind when you see my set. Unfortunatelly you cant use single channels to map onto individual midi commands. So you arent able to control two different machines on one controller. But, you can load preset modes into the faderfox to control individual things like pan, volume, sends for a single elektron machine. So if you have different machines you need to mix them in the traditional way with an extra mixer. All best, Matt

not that much. Some delay in ableton and reverb, thats it. Normally I produce some beats with this setup and so I have enough free faders and potis for quick MIDI assignments

Hey, well Im not really sure if this works.. I think you can only sent data via USB to a PC or Mac. So I think you have to go the way via 5 pin. But Ive to say that I never thought about that. Thats also too deep into the stuff for me :D

Hey matti, jeah indeed their is a reason. In my daily work I am an audio engineer for a radio station. Their I worked a lot with faders instead of buttons. So I wanted a live setup with at least 8 faders to fit to my personal workflow. I use the Faders mainly for groups FXs like LowCutting and fitering, and the buttons for single channel FXs. If you are not that much into faders go with the PC12! As you said it got some more control possibilities as the MX12.

@@mattfischery thx for the reply! I mean I could use Potis instead of faders but those extra buttons could really make the difference. Do you know if it is possible to map short press and long press of a button to different functions?

@@mattihol726 Hey, well I am not sure if that is possible..but I dont think so. There are a lot possibilities for editing and routing MIDI but not for different behaviors on time while pushing a knob.

@@mattfischery yeah I think I will just try it. For me it looks tempting to have such a controller and use it for my normal live setup but also mix some tracks once in a while. Biggest unknown is always the software but more buttons definitely help. Really nice unit!

Hey non, thanks for your comment =) Mostly I use the MX12 as a controller for ableton. I made an own setup with controls for group volume, several sends and the FXs on the send channels. But the MX12 can do way more. I never tried this setup you talked about so I did some research and connected the MX12 with the rytm. I connected the MIDI cable directly from MX12 into the rytm and back. It worked plug and play that was really cool! The faders control the individual volume of the rytm tracks and the knobs are the sends knobs to delay and reverb. This is an integrated setup in the MX12. You can also choose a setup to control a octatrack and an analog four and a different setup is made to control volumes and sends for 16 track in ableton via usb. You also can edit every poti and fader of the MX12 individually but thats out of my space :D So you got a lot different setups to use this controller. Its very well produced and good quality. I really like it.

Hey Seth. Its a really cool controller. It works very well, is high quality and has a lot of midi possibilities. But I dont use them a lot. Mostly I love the metal finish. That fits great between other instruments and feels/looks better than plastic =)
