You’re right that Roman is free of Logan’s burden, but the last scene symbolizes how Roman is about to downward spiral into alcoholism. Jeremy Strong said this in an interview. It’s actually quite incredibly sad. If you watch the show, Roman is by far the highest functioning of the 4 siblings. He isn’t an addict (Kendall), he doesn’t show not show up whenever he feels like it (Shiv) and he’s not isolated (Connor). Yet with all of that the only reason he’s functioning is because of his abusive father and why he hasn’t lost it is Gerri (who he has to fire which, ironically, wouldn’t have happened if it would’ve taken place a few minutes later but since he did that somewhat “nurturing” relationship is gone for him forever”. If you think about it all of these “kids” kept it together because of Logan. The fact that Kendall was able to work at a high level with his addiction is nuts. Shiv is married to who? A man working for her father. Conor is like 50 (actor that played him is significantly older. Was like 30 when. Ferris Buehler’s Day Off came out lol) yet essentially lives off of an allowance and casually asks his dad for $100M. As abusive and cruel as Logan was he kept them functioning. He’s what kept the wheel rolling. Without him, they’re all nothing and will downward spiral even further

My predictions: Shiv and Tom are going to be miserable together before eventually breaking up. There will probably be a real fucked up sexual thing with her and Mattson. Kendall will either off himself or live as a shell of himself. Riman might (maybe) learn to grow and evolve, since hes the one who saw how stupid and hollow it all is. And Connor will be the one whos actually happy. He won't have a perfectly fulfilled life, but he will have something and he'll be happy with that

Samatha was a reflection of Theodore. I think she begin to inhabit his personality and the same emotional disconnections that he already had with human relationships. She was like a shadow of who he really was.

it's interesting you're perspective of this movie, i've seen so much others analysis videos and most of them talk about the relationship of theo and samantha of how she helped him improve and reconnect with other people and his loneliness, and love and all that, probably this is the best i've seen so far.

I recently watched Her, and in spite of some very awkward uncomfortable scenes, I found it to be a fascinating and excellent film with amazing performances by the main actors. It went from awkward, to really rooting for and empathy with the struggles and insecurities of the main characters. I was smashed and sad when Samantha left. It was so well written and acted, so believable, I felt joy at the love connections and sadness when it failed. Gutted when Samantha shared that she talks to and is in love with hundreds of men, and gutted when she left to move on, but oddly happy for Samantha on her quest to grow and for him with his reconnection with his human female friend. It's a film I would not have expected to like but it was actually fabulous.

To put it bluntly: Blumhouse Productions, David Gorden Green, Danny McBride, Chris Bernier and Paul Brad Logan have took a huge dump on the Halloween Franchise for the fourth time with Halloween Ends. I'm really not sure if this Franchise can recover from this disaster again. The makers of this film put Friday the 13th Part 5: A New Beginning (1985), Jason Goes To Hell: The Final Friday (1993), A Nightmare on Elm Street Part 2: Freddy's Revenge (1985) and Christine (1983) in a blender. Mixed those four films together with the worst elements of Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers (1989) and Halloween 6: The Curse of Michael Myers (1995). Thrown in a dash of Halloween H20 (1998) and voilà! The result is Halloween Ends and it's gloriously awful. And yet this new Halloween Trilogy got off to a good start with Halloween (2018). Yes, it stumbled with Halloween Kills (2021), but Halloween Kills was just a bridge movie in this trilogy. That had been a big problem. Halloween Ends isn't just a big slap in the face for these two movies, oh no! This film is a huge slap in the face to the entire Halloween Franchise. It doesn't feel like a Halloween Movie at all! It's just boring, frustrating and disappointing. So many new characters are introduced in this one. All have zero personality, are simply one dimensional and a bunch of assholes. I didn't like the Corey storyline at all. It had ZERO Pay off and was just pointless! Allyson is all over the place in this film. Her decisions made no sense and were completely contradictable to her character in comparison to the previous two films. Not to mention how annoying and unlikable she became in Ends. She really reminded me of Scout Taylor-Compton's Laurie Strode from Rob Zombie's Halloween 2. Michael Myers himself (when he appeared) seemed bored, disinterested and tired. To add insult to injury, he was completely disrespected in this movie. You really want me to believe that some 24 years old douchebag who was bullied and beaten by some high school bullies, can beat the f*cking Michael Myers and steal his mask. Are you serious with this bullshit?! Heck, when this movie FINALLY decided to be a Halloween Movie, I was about to walk out of the theater. Not even the Kills are good in this movie imo. How can you screw up so much with something so simple! Jamie Lee Curtis as Laurie Strode is the only shining light in this awful film. She's the only thing stopping me from giving this movie 0/5 stars. If David Gorden Green really wanted to "Season of the Witch" the Franchise then he should have NOT bring Laurie and Michael back in Kills and Ends. He had the opportunity to give those characters a nice send-off in 2018 but he didn't do it. He is a hack! His Halloween Trilogy is so inconsistent. Like he and Danny McBride can't decide whether or not Michael Myers is a normal human being or a supernatural entity. In Kills, Laurie said and I quote: "I always thought Michael Myers was flesh and blood, just like you and me, but a mortal man could not have survived, what he's lived through." Then in Ends she says and I quote: "I thought maybe you were the boogeyman. No, you're just a man [...]." Is he supernatural or not? David Gorden Green and Danny McBride be like: "Who knows, who cares!" Halloween Ends (2022) gets 1/5 stars from me. I can deal with a badly made movie that has bad writing and bad acting as long as it's still entertaining. The worst thing a movie can do to me is if it bores me and waste my time. Halloween Ends did that to me. I have never left the cinema so speechless, confused and angry at the same time. It's by far the worst movie in the Halloween Franchise. Yes, it's WORSE than Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers (1989), Halloween 6: The Curse of Michael Myers (1995), Halloween: Resurrection (2002), Rob Zombie's Halloween 2 (2009) and Halloween Kills (2021). I'm dead serious! I would rather rewatch those movies than this piece of shit ever again because at very least those movies felt like actual Halloween Movies to me, even so they suck. I HATE Halloween Ends. After this travesty, whatever other studio who will own the rights to this Franchise should really just do Halloween Anthology Movies. Do what John Carpenter and Debra Hill envisioned for this Franchise to become after Halloween II (1981). It failed with Season of the Witch in 1982 but now it is the right time to do that in my opinion. Michael Myers character is so played-out at this point that I don't think a new Reboot with him will be any successful, especially without Jamie Lee Curtis. Even if they will bring back Danielle Harris as Jamie Lloyd and make a direct Sequel to Halloween 4 and delete Halloween 5 and 6 from the timeline, so what? They gonna f*ck it up again! They do it everytime! Everytime they made a decent or a good Sequel to the 1978 Original or 1981 Halloween II, they immediately do a Sequel/Sequels that ruins everything. They did it with Halloween 4 which was ruined by Halloween 5 and 6. Then with H20 which was ruined by Resurrection and now with Halloween (2018) which is ruined by Kills and Ends. This makes 3 strikes now. You're out! As far as I'm concerned the Story of Michael Myers ended with Halloween II (1981). Michael Myers died in that movie with Dr. Loomis who sacrificed his life and died in a blaze of glory.

I watched this show without any prior knowledge, without any trailers, without knowing the genre or the plot,but the very first episode gave me the idea that Kendall would need to be as ruthless or even more ruthless than Logan in the end to get what he wanted. And believed that's how the show would go. But no,it didn't. Even though I thought Logan constantly telling Ken that he isn't a killer and the season 02 finale was his answer that he indeed has what it takes to be the man. The show was setup mostly around Ken and Logan going back and forth and I had hoped to see Ken winning it all in the end for what he has went through. As for Rom,he fumbled,and he wasn't right for the job. As for Shiv,she always screwed her family being selfish, didn't matter with whom she was aligning herself,and probably the worst among all the siblings. She married Tom cause he was a submissive and talked about having an open relationship after marriage and cheated multiple times. Especially finale,after giving her approval of appointing Ken as the king,she still couldn't tolerate it,yet she tells him she loves him? I don't think she loves anyone. And that's why she'll never even be a good mother, which Tom knows it too. As for Tom,he didn't win anything, he's just a CEO on paper and would just be a puppet,like he always has been,and I don't mind cause he's happy about it. I feel for Kendall,from the very first scene of the series to the end of the finale,it was all about him getting his place as the main man. He's been working for it,for years,unlike the other two. So a bittersweet ending is what I would say. That being said,as someone who wanna pursue this line of filmmaking,I would have ended the finale too like this. Writers literally hit a 10/10.

The point of this show is that NONE of these people deserve power. Some fans have a lot of respect for Logan, which is also a sign that they have no idea what Succession was all about. Logan is the source of all this incompetence. He was not a good or even a great person. If you joined any of these "Teams", then the finale probably upset you much more than it was supposed to, and i'm glad lmao

Especially when compared to ex machina, which is much more about the capitalist patricachal domination of women.. I think you are looking for things that exist in most movies and to an extent in this one but that aren't actually there and that is why the movie is so comfortable and happy, but unironically. That being said tho I think this is an amazing video and I'm so glad you made it because it shows how much more I feel the opposite now that I've seen this point of view. Take the sex worker scene, Samantha hires her of her own volition in order to feel closer to Theo and because she has real, PERSONAL insecurities about not having a body, not just for Theo but for HER herself, she is a real person but from a computer rather than procreation,which Theo doesn't even CARE about, he loves HER not a human body, and the girl WANTED to do this because she had her own issues with her own relationships, Theo NEVER wanted ANY of that. If it was about male wish fulfilment he would want it and she would be willing to do whatever HE wanted. And wouldn't have any wants or feelings outside of him and she has infinitely more complexity to her than that. Also I think this movie is much better about representing potential post capitalist utopia, and wants us to learn about relationships and humanity and what AI can do to help us figure out humanity as well as figure out itself on its own terms, together but individual humanity and AI.

The only remakes I've liked so far is Jungle Book and Cinderella. Neither are perfect, but they're the best of the bunch. I'd give them a 6/10. The rest are lucky to reach near 5
