Feather Of Truth - Katie Comet (Lyric Video)
Another cathartic song that probably makes not much sense to anyone else lol. If there’s one thing I’m really really good at, it’s feeling guilty. Feeling like no one would love me if they knew who I truly was. This is a song about that. Hope you enjoy it!
The visualiser is a jellyfish lamp that I adore in my music studio :)

Your song... Its wonderful. It hurts. Its insightful. It rips away everything that covers my most secret wound, revealing the ugly, evil face hidden beneath the smiles, the self-inflicted judgment that I can never turn away from. "I play the victim and the villain in the same breath... I am the jury and the judge and the defendant... Oh God, do not spill your blood for me... Oh God, Oh God, this is all my fault!" I truly admire your ability to write lyrics that aren't just clever but which actually mean something. And your music is a perfect choice for your lyrics, hard, accusatory and yet pleading. You really are a master at finding the right notes and tempo to lend your lyrics greater power and emotion. And the final verse of the song, after the second bridge, is so great. The repetition of the question, "Would you still be here if you knew the weight of my heart?" Exactly right - a perfect choice to end the song. I imagine some people might think that last verse to be too repetitive, or even a mistake or filler or some such, imagining that you couldn't think of anything else to make the song longer. But for those who really understand, we get it, because we live it, every day. Every day we wonder if this will be the day the ones we love will finally see who we really are and leave us, abandon us, because that's what we deserve. (Even after 25 years of marriage, I know - I know - she'll leave me once she finally sees me for who I truly am.) This is another of your masterpieces. Thank you for sharing it with us.

Such a great podcast!! Thank you for doing it. I admire you being brave enough to share your thoughts and experiences with us. And I love your idea of showing you composing a new song while talking about a previous song. I really liked the new composition - can't wait to hear it in full if you decide to develop it further! Thanks for the context around 'Eat You Alive'. Is it terrible that I missed ALL of the signs that this song is about an eating disorder? 🥺 (It just fit so well with the voice in my head that's fueled decades of severe depression... I guess it just shows how multi-faceted your music is!) I'm glad I understand your intention now, though. Also, thank you for sharing your story about your eating disorder from its inception until now. As a father of one young adult daughter and two teenage daughters, it's always been one of my great fears that they might develop an eating disorder. I've spent years 'watching for the warning signs' and trying to use my words and actions to help bolster positive resilience in their minds and hearts, but always feared that I'd screw up and let them down. I hope that what I say next comes across the way I mean it to - knowing that you went through the terrible battles of your eating disorder but have recovered and are a more beautiful person for having done so is encouraging to me, as I know that even if all of my paltry efforts fail, it doesn't mean all is lost for my girls. On a different note, you hit your goal of making the music uncomfortable while still making a song that is great to listen to! I think that there should be a new category/genre of music created - PROTEAN. The word means "tending or able to change frequently or easily" and "able to do many different things; versatile". I think this fits your music perfectly. If this were an official genre, I think more artists would become like you instead of tying themselves to just one thing. Last but not least - thank you for sharing your face and pictures/video of you and your family with us. That takes real courage! You are courageous and wonderful!

Sorry it takes me so long to write a reply to your comments, you say so many wonderfully kind things and I always want to return the gesture but struggle with my words 😅 Thank you so much for everything you said. It builds me up so much more than you could know. You sound like a wonderful, caring father. That’s rare, and your daughters are lucky to have someone who cares so deeply. I really mean that. I know eating disorders are not immune to good familie’s but I think your daughters are exceptionally lucky to have a supportive dad like you. Btw I love PROTEAN, that’s really clever! Also love that when I Googled it it came up with greek mythology. I am obsessed with Egyptian mythology 😅

We your fans have been waiting with great anticipation for your next song, and you did not disappoint!! First off - I love the shifts in the music, from light and innocent to jagged-edged razor. Your music is experimental and new, so much better than the empty commercial drivel that takes up so much of society's time and energy. The lyrics, even more than the music, is what makes your songs great. Once again, you are so talented! Your word choice, the rhythm and rhyming scheme, and the way you position the words with and then against and then with the music again... it is so spot-on! No I don't need your help, no I don't need a break, I've got no reason to rest, why would I when everything Everything Is FAKE... I appreciate you have some concerns But I am watching the whole world burn I don't know if what I am writing is enough to capture how great I think your music is, so I will finish with this. You have created another master-piece! Thank you for your bravery, energy, and drive to share your music with the world!!

ANOTHER MASTERPIECE! The choice to use child-like voices confused me at first, but as I listened to the lyrics, it just made more and more sense. "I am better off shocked than sleeping in my grave." Wow. I've read about eletro-shock therapy, seen it in recordings (both fake/Hollywood and recordings of actual treatments), even talked to a few people who have had it in the past. None of them conveyed the feelings that are in this song. "I hope when I wake up I don't know who I am." You are a BRILLIANT song writer. Thank you for sharing your talent and your life with us.
