Hmm because its a decently short trip, you could do it at any time really. Maybe just avoid hurricane season if you want to be extra safe. We went in april and it was great however we should have waited til may for whale shark season

Hey loggerhead key is around 2 miles west of dry tortugas national park. Getting to loggerhead isnt easy without your own boat tbh. I think the only way you can do it is to take the ferry to dry tortugas and camp at dry tortugas for a night. Then you can kayak there early in the morning and spend the day there. If you do this be sure to bring a radio and let the ranger know. We rescued 2 different sets of people on kayaks while we were there. Hope you make it there!

@@camarojay7027 aw dang then yeah its pretty inaccessible for the public which is why its so pristine. I guess you could do a private charter out of key west with a fishing boat but it wont be cheap. If you have any other questions don’t hesitate to ask!

@@camarojay7027 yeah it is a beautiful place. Id recommend taking the sea plane into dry tortugas. The dry tortugas is almost as remote and had a beautiful beach. The reason for the sea plane is you get in at like 8-9 am before the ferry arrives withs hundreds of tourist. Itll be just you and the boaters on a private island.

Yeah they could have been but this place saved them. In the front theres a sign saying they dont buy animals

I think thats just how much our main sticks out. I dont think we ever let it out this trip because we had to reduce speed for our buddy boat. Its always jamming anyways😂

Yeah it was a great trip! Loggerhead key is 3 miles from tortugas so you’ll need a dinghy or be camping at tortugas to get there. Hope you get to go soon👍

Hey its a caliber 40 lrc, we are into the boat i think 150k now but paid around 100k for it originally. Its a 2000. Its a nice sturdy boat but with 3 people on board kind of tight. Sorry for the late response! This was my first vid haha

Thanks! I dont get nervous when we are anchored. I recently went on our neighbors boat a hunter 490 and launched it going around 5 knots in 15 mph winds, that was really scary almost lost it haha. It was actually a yacht that had just pulled in before us, there were on like a 80 ft motor boat. They had a smaller boat and were super friendly. We have tow us and if they couldnt get us out we def wouldnve called :) thanks again!
