Hello PN. I'm sorry I missed this video when you posted it a year or so ago. Of course it's magnficent as are all of your Wingnut Wings builds. I'm using still pictures from your video to check details as I build my version of the Rumpler. All the best!
Hi, Mark, thanks for your comment. I'm watching your Rumpler's process videos. I've been posting a lot of videos, it must take much time to see them all, and I don't think my videos are useful to refer, because there is no process image. If you have any question, leave a comment. I already built 2 Rumpler C.4 of WNW, and still have one kit (laugh I'm looking forward to your finishing your Rumpler.
Nice one my friend!
Why don't you build a WWI airplane?
@@gatoneco I wish I had time! I prefer admire yours! 😊😊
Bravo, fantastic craftsmanship.
Thanks, every time!
PN, this may be your most beautiful WNW build yet. 👏👏👏. On the other hand, I would not be surprised if you will show us something even more impressive in the future. This livery is just superb. Well done. Well done!
Thanks! This winter camouflage version looks nice, does'nt it?
A superb plane with impressive patterns/colors!
Yes, I think it's a impressive coloring too.
I always appreciate your craftsmanshi. Bravo ! Every video..
Hi. This D.7 is the unarmed plane of H.Göring after 1919.
Always love your WWI builds. They really make me want to dive into one seriously.
Thanks for your comment. Why don't you try one?
@gatoneco I've started one, but got to where I had to start worrying about the rigging and realized I was probably going to screw it up. I wanted to find a cheaper one to do first if I was possibly going to have to dumpster the whole thing. I've been on a break from modelling for a bit recently though.
@@jameshall1300 What plane are you building now? A kit from WNW? According to my experience, I think WNW is the easiest kit to build for a builder who isn't familiar with WWI planes. Eduard or Roden is far much harder. I recommend you use a small heaton (eye bolt/screw eye) to set the riggings. Using a turnbuckle from GasPatch Models is good way too, but expensive. [How to make a heaton] I added the URL on the description of this video. My pages are Japanese, but I guess you understand the outline how to make a heaton with those photos. Take a look at from the 2nd to 5th photos on the page after jumped. The core metal rod of "?" shape is φ0.3mm brass or nickel-silver. In my case I use a copper line of an electric circuit for the heaton. Because of using a thick copper line in order to take photos, actually the diameter of the line on the photo is too thick for both 1/48 and 1/32 models. A finer one is better. c.f. the 5th photo. [How to use the heaton and put the rigging] Drill a hole of 1~1.5mm depth with φ0.3~0.4mm drill on the wings, then put the heatons above with CA glue. Then path the line into the heaton hole, then wreathe and glue with 2 sets of fine tweezers. It may be better using stretch rigging like EZ line if this is the first time for you to put rigging. It' not difficult. I believe you can do it, if your eyes are fine, but before you set to your model, you might practice with a piece of plastic board or something. Incidentally, I'm always thinking that the biggest purpose of building a model is not to see the finished beautiful shape, but to enjoy the process of cut-and-try with the imaginative and creative idea. You don't need to be nervous. This is just a hobby. Let's enjoy all the process. Failure always teaches next success. Don't throw it away. I'm looking forward to you post someday your WWI plane. 🤡😻
@gatoneco it was actually an Eduard kit, just one out of production for a long time I didn't want to screw up. I'll probably snag a WNW kit sometime soon. From what I've seen the instructions and such are a lot more clear than what I was working with too.
@@jameshall1300 I rewrote my former comment. Please check up. The biggest problem, I think of early kits of Eduard is the instruction, showing the position of parts, specially the position of riggings is unclear. In case of Roden, adding the quality of their kit itself (laugh But now...WNW kit became too expensive. Take it easy, and just try and finish current one anyway !
Another beautiful build PN. The streaked camouflage is particularly impressive. Well done. 👍 👍
Hi Mark. It's becoming cold in Japan. How about there? This plane is too simple to enjoy it as a model, but I like this grass camouflage.
Now, this is one that I'm currently building. I am at the rigging stage ,using EZ line for the control lines and fishing line for the structural cables.I am interested in how you finish the ends of some cables,to give the wrapped twisted look. This is a really challenging build, well done.❤
Thanks for your comment. You're building this kit. I'm happy to hear that! I think this is one of the best kits from WNW. Specally the thinness of the trailing edge of the main wing is icredible, isn't it? Also in my case, I used line similar to fishing line (Japanes company's MODELKASTEN/black 0.2mm) for the reinforcement wires, and used strech rigging (probably Korean company's INFINI Model/black 0.135mm), which is like EZ line, for the control cables. About the finishing of the wires, I believe that's one of good ways how to express a turnbuckle. Twisted the end of the wire, padded CA-glue a bit around the twisted part to fat. Sometimes I also use metal turnbuckles from Gas Patch for German planes, but their expensive. So that, I usually use my previous way, specially for all of the British planes. Because of some of the struts of this kit was too thin, I broke one strut of the horizontal stabilizer.🙀😿🤡
Gorgeous!😊
Thanks!
You build wonderful models PN. 👏👏👏
Thanks Mark. By the way, one of my friends in my university days who has lived for about 40 years in Philadelphia, temporarily came back to Japan to visit his son who serves in Iwakuni base as a pilot. I remmber the base you were is Iwakuni too. Isn't it? About a couple of weeks ago, I was in Yokohama to meet him. It's been 40 years we hadn't seen, but friendship hasn't been changed same as then, but he lost his wife (American) last year. Time goes by quickly and mercilessly.
@@gatoneco Hi PN. I wasn't in the military and I was in Tokyo for 3 years because of my job in finance--I worked for Chase Manhattan Bank, and lived in Shirokanedai near the Institute for Nature Study. That was from 1986 to 1989. Yes, time goes by quickly and mercilessly.
@@markfrommontana Oh, sorry. It was my misconception. You were a banker. Why did I take it so....
Great work!
Hi Red. Thanks!
I love the clarity, the lack of weathering. Just a beautifully realised model .One of my favourite WW1 aircraft.
Sometimes I add weathering, but it's just in extremely rare cases. I prefer in the condition of roll out.
Super Sharp Invasion Stripes, before Invasion Stripes were a thing (!) th-cam.com/video/V1fBnovQ4YE/w-d-xo.html
Thanks for visiting. It was so hard to paint those markings, specially on the fuselage, I started over three times... painting, washing out with thinner to take off the paint, repainting..., these successful photos are the third painting.
@@gatoneco I can imagine, shakey brush tips, finger smudges, dust and curved surfaces do not help. Can you believe, it was the creative gorgeous color schemes on German WW1 biplanes in a book my fighter pilot grandfather had in his library, that got me passionate about airplanes as a kid? He's dead, everything of his is sold away and gone, but I still have the book. th-cam.com/video/MwViS4SfQSg/w-d-xo.html As a kid I only had a vague idea my dad was an air traffic controller, and no idea at all my granddad had been a pilot for 40 years, until my grandmother died and he had nothing else to do with his life than search out his old war buddies. Then I learned later, from a German relative who was a glider pilot visiting America, that I even had a German uncle in the Luftwaffe. My other grandfather drove a motorcycle as a message courier in WW2 in the Wehrmacht German Regular Army. He was a lot like me in demeanor. I've been driving a motorcycle for 20 years now. The local airport here has a silver Nieuport 11 Bebe forgotten in the back, collecting dust in a hanger two guys built.

@@gatoneco My mom is German. The Invasion Stripes were for D-Day only to identify friendly Allied Aircraft that probably had control of the skies, but of course you knwo that.. WW1 color schemes were squadron markings for personal expression and branding, but you know this too. The Germans to their their pilots like rock stars and let them paint anything once they reached a level of noteriety, which appealed to me. They were pretty like colorful butterflies. As a kid, I only had a vague idea they were used in a gangsta war as k ll ing machines. I have three ultralight full sized planes and spent a lot of my own time designing a color scheme for them :-) In bright neon dayglo colors that would blow your eyeballs out. Thanks for visiteing my channel. They seldom bother my work, but one day, the younger sister black cat squashed a plane by chance. When I fixed it, her brother black cat helped me. The captions are in Japanes, so if you don't understand Japanese, please take a look at the Photos on the following page. ocoze.net/pulamo/biff-repair/biff-repair.html
☆ Excellent ☆
I built 2 D.12 in the same color scheme, because I liked this coloring.
Such a fantastic plane, beautifully done!
Thanks!! I'm glad if you like this one.
PN, Jacob’s DrI is by far my favorite Fokker Triplane livery. As usual, you have built a superb replica in 1/32. 👍👍👍 Josef Carl Jacobs’ 48 victories tied him with Werner Voss for fourth place among the Great War German aces. Jacob’s skill in aerial warfare brought him squadron and wing level commands. By war's end, he had shot down more Allied aircraft (30) while piloting a DRI than any other German ace. (von Richthofen was second with 19 of his 80 victories were in the DRI).
HI, Mark. Thanks for your information.
Awesome as usual!😊
Thanks for visiting. This is a simple and good kit.
Great work, you should have more likes.❤
Thank you! I hope so.
I have this kit, it builds into an attractive model. Very neat, clean build. ❤
Thanks for your comment. I'll build the same kit in the condition of open cowlings. A new 1/32 kit is released recently as 3D kit, but pretty expensive.
The cutaway section is excellent. Stunning build,I think the Japanese colour scheme has great simplicity.
Thanks!
Beautiful build of one of my favourite WW1 aircraft.❤
Thanks! I built nearly all (about 70 works) the Wingnut Wings kits. I hope you also try those videos on my channel. 40 planes in 1/48 too.
❤
Please share with us the info, why did he wear bright colours?
Wow PN! That's certainly a change of pace for you, eh? I must admit, I didn't even know that the German Navy had midget U-boats... I was of course aware that Japan, Great Britain and Italy all had midget subs. Perhaps because the Type VII was so infamous and dominant in the Germany Navy's war effort. Nice work on the model!!!
Hi, Mark. Thanks for coming. It's becoming cool around here at last. Basically I prefer to see a plane alone to enjoy its beautiful shape which is in a role out condition, so that I seldom add weathering. But to say the truth, I love a diorama too, and according to my idea, a model in a diorama should be weathered. For these reasons, I don't like to put an aviation intto a diorama. At my feeling, a submarine and maybe a AFV models which are wethered will best fit dioramas without doub. I'll up S.L.C 200 Maiale, a Italian midget sub, with a vignette on November 1st. Come again to check it out. U-VII was a great submarin, it goes without saying. I of couse have a Revell 1/72 kit and resin interior option patrs from CMK, and I prepared a acrylic, but leave it for more than decade. I myself hope someday seeing the model rounded out. Your Camel is almost finishing, isn't it? The double wiring must be the last wall, and will take your time. I'll up my night fighter version of Camel from WnW next Friday.
Very nice. Quite a bit different from your WW1 airplanes, which are still my favorites.
Thank you for watching. I also like submarines, especially midget subs. I also like jet planes from1945 to early 1960's especially trainer jets. May be steampunk vehicle too. Come to see my next WWI palne. I hope you'd come again to see my old and next WWI palne videos.
Well done, superb U-boot and figures!
Thanks! I repainted the figures after shooting.
Do handley page 0/400 next
Sorry, that's not my favor.
Greetings from the UK - fantastic work! I've just received this kit from Japan (hence searching for build videos) but noticed you have figures in yours - where did you get them?
Thank you for watching. The title of the videos was wrong. This is not 1/144, but 1/72. Now corrected. There once existed a limited version with 1/24 Akiko figure. Search for 4967834522183 on eBay, and you'll easily find some, but expensive. If you can buy from Japan, it must be much cheaper. As this version is rare, it's a little difficult to find even in Japan, but not impossible. Good luck, and model on!
Nice!👍
Thanks!
This might be my favorite one yet! Mark from Montana just finished the same model this week. Yours and his are both stunning. You should check his out.
Thanks. Yes, I saw his video. It's beautifully finished, isn't it? He's on a Camel now. I finished one last month. In the near future, I'll up its video. Please come to see that then. I like Roland D.VI too. I've built 4 of this plane in 1/32 and 3 in 1/48 (laugh This is the 3rd one of 1/32. 1/32 another one th-cam.com/video/hynmxkVJd18/w-d-xo.html 1/48 Roland D.VIa th-cam.com/video/gM3YkjXazX8/w-d-xo.html
Stunning! You're skills are top notch.
Thanks!
Beauty!😎🇨🇦
Thank you.
Immaculate as always. Wonderful modeling!!! 👍👍
Thanks Mark.
How do you do it? Unreal how good you are. 😮
Only the kit is just amazing.
Exquisite detail and paint work as usual. 👍👍👍
Hi Mark, how are you doing? This spoked wheel is hand-made by Steven Robson from Australia. I met him in a certain web-forum about WWI. He's a very excellent modeler.
Amazing work again!😊
Thanks. Watch the wheel.
Beautiful!😎🇨🇦
Hi. Peter. The wheel was made by an Australian modeler.
Superb!!
Thank you!
Prolific..
That's my way...
Once again, the Artist makes the mark! Bravo! That's a plane I know nothing about.. intriguing. fantastic!
Thanks. Salmson 2A2 is one of most important and famous plane in French army at that time.
