Missile Park at Naval Base Ventura County is an interesting stop on a PCH road trip, just south of Oxnard. However, it could definitely use some cosmetic assistance. The NVBC Public Affairs Office number is 805 989-9234, but, they never seem to answer the phone. The main base number is 805 989-7209,, if you want to call and suggest they fix up Missile Park.

What I didn't say in the video, is that we're sitting on a blind curve. It's the Connector Road from the Southbound 405 to the southbound/eastbound 101. So the traffic is going at full speed. They can't see us until they're right on top of the truck. We did get it out of there, anybody want to guess how we did it?

Shoulder drivers are every day in Maryland and DC. Cops don't even care to go after them because there are so many on 295, 395, and 495 during heavy traffic hours.
Just remember. The most dangerous thing about this video was the rider’s decision to engage. I also bet there was a brake check because the video cuts off at far too opportune of a moment.
@@calvinnickel9995 yeah, in retrospect, yelling at him was a bad idea. No brake check tho, I'm not about to stop in front of a car. I just accelerated away.

I live right there on Lankershim and 101. That kind of stuff happens so often, I don't honk anymore or flip anyone off because I know it won't change their driving behavior, I just let them go by and hope my car doesn't make contact with the other vehicle. The other person could also be a psycho ready to snap, it's not worth finding out.

Why bother yelling? At freeway speeds on a motorcycle, with engine and wind noise to overcome, you can't even hear yourself talk; nevermind anyone else hearing you.

I don't understand why, if he causes an accident in front of you, it is more likely you could be involved in that accident that if he is way behind you.
@@badouplus1304 it's a low probability that the road rager might collect you in an accident and my completely unscientific analysis is that road ragers are rarely concerned about the car that they just overtook. If that idiot is behind me then I'm still a target and I don't want to be involved in that situation. Sure the driver in this video acted like an entitled Ahole but why chase back up to the Ahole for another encounter? Makes no sense. A motorcycle will aways lose against contact with a car.
@randys6698 I can say as an experienced medevac pilot that the most dangerous thing to riders is riders themselves. Every organ donor I’ve carried what there because of something stupid he (never she) did. They “speed away” from danger only to find themselves in more danger very quickly as their options run out. Someone going into your lane isn’t going to kill you. Not likely to even damage your bike. But you chose to re-engage and made it much more dangerous for yourself. I’d love to see the content of this video after the one minute mark. I bet it was more bad decisions on your part because the video stops abruptly at an opportune moment.

That was 37 years ago. I was still a boy back then. There was no Internet then and no cellphones, let alone iPhones. Did you manage to find a video of this on TH-cam and then download it under your name?
Hi, thanks for your comment. My brother recorded this the old fashioned way, with a VCR, when it was broadcast. He recently transferred it to a flash drive and sent it to me. I can't imagine anyone else saving this, much less putting it on TH-cam.
I believe this is taped from Channel 5 in Chicago -- so you had to be flown to Los Angeles for the court case, right?
Thanks for your comment. I was living in Burbank, CA at the time. My brother, who lived in the Chicago area, recorded this. The people I spoke with told me they got all their cases from small claims filings in L.A. Courts.
There was an obnoxious guy on People's Court in 1987, suing over a popcorn machine ripping the inside of his Porsche. I saw that guy in the early 2000's in Ralph's Supermarket, still very obnoxious. He looked almost the same too. I was surprised you won your case, I thought it would be too hard to prove another dog got your dog pregnant, that was quite impressive.
