Creating a Custom 1:6 Scale Model Horse
Watch as I bring life to this 1:6 scale JXK model horse. I call this horse Orca because he reminds me of one. He is based on a real mustang with a similar pattern. I just love the unique spots throughout his white areas. This big guy was a joy to paint. Mohair was added for the mane and tail. I purchased my mohair on Amazon. It is by far the silkiest, softest mohair I’ve worked with. I highly recommend this stuff! The creation of Love and Hope, customs from the Breyer Classic make a wish set. Such beautifully detailed sculptures, these turned out just how I envisioned. Lots of love went into painting these two. Painted by hand and with airbrushed acrylics by Hannah Beth Robertson.

These customs were all done when I was roughly 16-17. Some were airbrushed (before my airbrush died) and some were painted by hand in acrylics with cosmetic sponges. I did some resculpt work on some of them as well. Hope you enjoy! Stay tuned for part 2!

i have been doing this technique since the early 1980s. this is the best video i have seen so far, that shows pre making 'tufts' of hair (rather than gluing tufts direct to the horse) this technique will result in alot less hair shedding after its dry and combed out. The Fabri tack glue is very close to the old formula of 527 glue that used to be best for this process. Great video .
