1974 driving a 70 Chevy SS 396 on a 2 lane country road racing a friend. 2am pitch black night,kind of drunk, not knowing the road made a steep left turn up ahead! About 80th accelerating, hit the berm at the turn, went straight over and airborne for about 50 feet, car landed flat in a field. Kept going straight and went between 2 trees and finally stopped. Looked over the car. There were scrape marks on both side mirrors from tree bark! I think that was God giving me a break one time. But with a warning! 6 years later police officer in a pursuit on a 6 lane city expressway in Chicago. Driving Ford LTD 460 police interceptor model (big boat type!) 1st car in a train of about 20 police cars in the pursuit. Come over a slight rise in the road and up ahead about 100 yards is a road block of police cars facing across the road the 2 cars in the middle of the road block pulled back quickly, bad guy slid through with about zero space. I went thru right behind him and saw the huge wide open eyes of the cops in the cars that moved as I made it through, Barely! Bad guy made it another half mile failed to negotiate a slight turn in the road and drove thru the front wall and back wall of a gas station hit a light pole behind the station. Front end of his car exploded in parts flying everywhere. Car burst into flames. Everyone’s jumping out of their cars to save the criminal in the car! About 5 minutes later a state trooper pulls up in the parking lot to the flock of police cars and asks if anyone is interested in the driver of that stolen car? Hes got the criminal in his back seat all cut up and bleeding from a hundred cuts, head, face, arms legs etc. We were all assuming he had been stuck in the burning car when in fact he had been ejected through the windshield and walked on up the road! God gave that punk and me another break! It was time to rethink the crazy driving of those days. Never had an incident like those again! Thank you God for letting me live and live a great life and have a happy healthy family of a wonderful wife and 3 amazing daughters!

Had something similar happen with a coworker of mine at a bar I was a bouncer at. He was in on a night off, hanging out and having a good time, with minimal alcohol involved, when suddenly 3 cop cars showed up. They asked if he was there; none of us confirmed it, mostly because we knew he had an ex-girlfriend who loved to start problems because he dumped her, and sure enough, she had called and lied to the police about supposedly attacking her. We kept having him duck and dodge the cops (thank God for radios) and we managed to talk the cops into understanding that he had been at the bar at the time of the “incident”, without ever letting them figure out he was there currently. Long story short, the ex got in trouble for making a false statement and my coworker was reprimanded by the police for not coming forward to give his side of the story. That last part was annoying; I even said, loudly, under my breath, they would have cuffed and processed him without hearing a word of his statement if that had happened.

The moral of this story just because the cops want him dead does not make him a bad guy.

He can't act he just beats people up and calls it acting

I remember this scene as the most memorable scene of the movie when it first came out; with that perfect smile when he puts his hat back on being the cherry on top...

That is the problem with North America in a nutshell. Aid a criminal without knowing why he is being chased. Romanticized criminal activity. Belittle purity.

As far as those guys know this guy is a rapist on the run , it's all that is wrong with society , it's not like they said "Hey it's Jack Reacher....." Yay for crime and destruction of society by crime i guess.

While Alan Ritchson is a better Reacher, I doubt he could’ve pulled off that “Hiding in plain sight” move

I hate this scene, we all know jacks a good guy, but the people in the bus stop don’t, I mean he could be a mass shooter an escaping peado a bank robber or he’s just murdered is whole family, who knows what crime he’s just committed to have all them police chasing him.

This scene would not work with a big guy like Alan Ritchson.

Jack Reacher series is the best no doubt about it, but some thing about this movie gets me smiling everytime. Tom Cruise is the best Jack Reacher period. (Tom Cruise overcame every physical aspect the role needs to qualify so he's the OG)
