I have a huge collection of music both classical and popular. I particularly enjoy popular stuff from between the wars - what I call art deco music - the likes of Gershwin, Cole Porter, Irving Berlin etc. etc.
Billy Mayerl - Virginia Creeper
Played by the composer himself. A real piece of art deco music.

We could do with a lot of this in the world right now.
My mum loved his voice. She named me after him! Sadly I can't sing.
"The Archers" should have been in there too. 🏹
Nothing matters. Nothing matters.
Linda canção. Bravo EC . Do Brasil
Superb. Thank you!
Well, this is very good. I think she deserved more career longevity than she had.
My late father's singer. He loved this song, and it's always reminded me of him.Play it a lot when I think about him.Love you always dad.Well Done Yana😊
Who was your father, if you don't mind me asking? All I know of Yana is what I read on Wikipedia.
My mom used to sing this song along with many others.
Came here via a mention of him in the Kingsley Amis novel 'The Riverside Villas Murder'- according to Amis, he also performed under the names 'The Vagabond Lover' and 'Don Carlos' (with a band called 'Troise and his Mandoliers')
Just a terrific voice..
What a talent, what an amazing talent and what a loss to all of us sit on himself. Losing the ability to play like that because of a brain issue which could have been brought on by his cholesterol medicine, which he was on tremendous amounts of cholesterol-lowering lowering a drug's. Of course, your brain's supposed to have cholesterol in it. Anyhow, he's buried in South Plainfield. New Jersey
Goosebumps

And I am in love with you Ruby sing nice and slow

My old favorite song
Tom was the original "chad" Tolkien is the grandfather of fantasy, bless his soul for all the smiles he brought to millions.
So who knows all the words to...... If you see a dragon dressed in. ..? And was La Donna a mobile ever a radio theme tune.? I think I remember it, nobody else seems to.
Oh, yes, I do remember that -- it was whistled, I think. No idea of the plot or title, except that it was a thriller of some kind.
Gosh what a handsome profiile! How do men get SO handsome!??
My belief is that Tom Bombadil is the embodiment of the music without Melkor's discord. That is why he is so innocent and unconcerned and why he is immune to the ring.
So for now from everybody working here at BBC2, this is David Allen saying thanks for your company and I now wish you a peaceful goodnight as we leave you now with some music to accompany a news announcement regarding our BBC Radio stations frequencies changing by the Kings Subgers.
Fabulous!
My local AM MOR station [WJAR] played this in 1978.
i have a big collection of original yana photos lots taken by her boyfriend in her dressing room and some very young images of her
Jet Morgan, Mitch, Lemmy and Doc. Never missed it.
Delightful.
Wonderful!
Amazing material. Thanks for sharing. Certainly an exciting event at the time for all affected radio enthusiasts. I was living in Sydney Australia when all this happened. Some Australian and New Zealand AM stations actually became impatient and started broadcasting on their new frequencies before the due date.
Lyrics Ahhh Ahhhahaha Ahhhahaha Climb up the wall! Climb up the wall! Climb up the garden wall, and we will spread a Persian rug. I'll serve you Turkish tea, and give your neck a Persian hug. Climb up the wall! Climb up the wall! I'm like a lonely little rose, waiting in the shade. I need your sunny smile, give me your sunny smile. I'm like a lonely little rose, And do you suppose, I like it very much? No. I don't like it much. Climb up the garden wall, and we will spread a Persian rug. I'll serve you Turkish tea, and give your neck a Persian hug. Climb up the wall! Climb up the wall! The night is written in the stars, all the worlds is ours. Come free my longing heart, unlock my longing heart. My darling, if you come to me, we'll make history. I need your tender kiss, I need no more than this. Climb up the garden wall, and we will spread a Persian rug. I'll serve you Turkish tea, and give your neck a Persian hug. Climb up the wall! Climb up the wall! I'm like a helpless little child, waiting in the cold. I need your warm embrace, give me your warm embrace. I'll serve you bells and native beads, fulfill all your needs, Without a fret or fuss, and things I won't discuss! Climb up the garden wall, and we will spread a Persian rug. I'll serve you Turkish tea and give your neck a Persian hug. Climb up the wall! Climb up the wall! Climb up the wall! Excellent diction, but I had to check - what kind of tea? Turgish?
My late mother loved this❤
Barrow-Wight: Hey I’m going to kill you Tom: go back home Barrow-Wright: ok
The passing of maestro of the keyboard Alberto Semprini left a big void in the world of music. He is not easily forgotten and we are the less without him. This great melody befits our memories of him and his genius.
First met Henry 61 years back in Weston-Super -Mare. The Heath band came to the Winter Gardens where I was doing my first summer season with The Ronnie Hancox Orchestra. I remember most of the band - the saxes of course. Ronnie Chamberlain, Dennis Walton, Bob Efford, Henry McKenzie and Ken Kiddier. What a band and what players everyone
That's why Jacob Rees Mogg is so welcome 🙏 🤗
I bought his 'The Songs We Sang' LP for my father (with a little help from me mum), when I was little, for his birthday. He died when I was 12. I still have the LP and hearing these songs again makes me think of him with very fond memories. 🥲
1:54 that little girl has a golliwog which was banned from Enid Blyton's books
Excellent ! thanks
This song was still popular when I was a little kid in the late 40s. I must have imprinted on it because I've heard it now and then over the years. It hits me in a way that feels like deja vous, or some kind of picture of the moment I first heard it. It feels warm, happy, and safe.
🎼🎹❤️super
This is Eric Coates' greatest orchestral composition heard rarely today. With lyrics added it swept the world. This is a delightful piano rendition of it.
Would be perfect to see Bing and Jack play and sing it.
Saw him live in Bridlington with my Mum and Dad. ....he had a great voice
DOES HE HAVE ON WHITE FACE?
Grow up
