      Thank you! Math isn't a direct requirement, but I have had clients specifically ask for someone who can "read the numbers." This mean SQL or other database tools are the skills that you should build. Hope this helps! -bryan

    I am thankful for the information and it's very helpful. The background music is a bit loud and it competes with your voice. If it has to stay, perhaps lower it a bit. Maybe it distracted me because I can only hear out of one ear and am def in my right ear. Just something for you to know as well. Hope it helps.

      Hi Nikola, Great question! Because of the strategic nature of this role, we have seen this lead to leadership roles such as Country Manager, Director of Business Development, Sales Director, Managing Director, Chief Revenue Officer, and more including other C-suite positions. Business Development Manager is one of the funnels to the top. Hope this helps, and best of luck with your career! -bryan

      This is a really great question! On paper, it seems like a far move from a Technical Background to a client facing sales position. How you frame your experience will play the biggest role in getting your future position. You can use your knowledge of the backend to connect with your technical clients in a way that other sales folks cannot. If you are looking for a position that can bridge technical and sales, I would recommend a Presales engineer. I hope this helps, I saved your comment and if you would want to learn more, we can try to write a blog or make a video about this topic. Thank you again! -bryan

    A BDM is an absolute waste of time and space. Most will do the most minimal jobs possible or delegate to (Apparent) lower roles. Waste of flow and no income generation they can provide. If you have one at your work.. They are explaining the obvious to get paid what? IMO get rid of the role give the hard workings a pay rise and forget you even thought about it..

    • @joecool4843
      @joecool4843 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      While I do see where you might be coming from. I assume you say this coming from personal experience where your BDM wasn’t pulling their weight and not providing/or trying to provide unique insights or values that justified their job. Is there any reason in particular that made you feel like this role isn’t justified? Do you think the job is useless or do you feel like you had conflicting roles in your organization? I felt like it was pretty straightforward. Identifying potential clients/partners Business or client relationship maintenance Going through the sales process Analyzing market data and trends Setting growth goals And I could list more but you obviously watched the video. I’m just asking out of curiosity, I don’t really have work experience and I just want to learn more about the business world.

    • @sledgehammer6239
      @sledgehammer6239 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes. Coming from Experience. Multiple Businesses I have worked for retain a certain and similar culture. It all of course depends on the Director Chief (Boss) of course. If they tolerate Failure and Excuses staring at a blank wall.. All points you mentioned are basic in terms of what any Sales Team/Parts Team/Service Team/Transit Team should be driven and aligned to do. (Hopefully by contract) It does depend how big or small the business is, That is what a BDM would say. Yes. In my Opinion organizations have worked out paying for a role they never needed, BDM never has an opportunity to over rule what a "Boss" Should be watching and acting upon themselves. BDM bring measurements of achievement no matter how high or low blanket to the workers currently doing it and achieving it or not achieving it.. The Bottom line matters to the boss.. Only in my opinion.. BDM means to me. crazy, lazy, loose boss.

    “Ability to code will help you gain the trust of your dev team” is highly understated. If you can show you can code quickly and with quality, they will respect you. But the fine line to make this work is to not use this ability to micromanage devs and architectural decisions or else you will destroy creativity and motivation.
