Here’s an idea: legends based off historical events. The Romanov Incident would appear as a two headed feathered wyvern, more avian than reptilian despite being a draconid. It would definitely be undead. Probably ghost dual typed with what best represents an almost divine fury, a rage that completely ignores the barrier of death. Drawn to areas where a lot of undeserving deaths happened. Trying to fight or capture it only makes it angrier, and knocking it out or killing it is impossible because it’s already a ghost. It’s the incarnation of the undead wrath of those who did not deserve their end.

I like how the Fire-Type Starter also kind of looks like it suffered horrible burns. The skin is red and raw-looking and the wraps are reddish as if soaked in blood.

Some Ideas: A fighting type based on the "Final Girl" horror trope. Perhaps pull from donkeys, as they have violent reactions to anything even remotely resembling a coyote. A Ghost type based on the ghost girls from Japanese Horror movies (The Ring, Grudge, Tomie, et cetera)

You should look into the fears of the magnus archives. (There’s 14 I think) I truly believe they categorized what scares us perfectly. When I read short horror stories, I like to consider which fear or fears that this story is tapping into. I think you can go into some pretty interesting Pokémon territory if you look into it.

Given how I tend to try using bees on my team, safe to say Murdruzz is gonna be on my team. Also... After thinking on it a bit, I think I have an idea for a pokemon hunted by the Doctrow like how you stated wanting to do a line for! Possibly a bug/poison type flea/lice based on the fleas/lice that were responsible for spreading the Black Death, and had rode on rodents that ended up getting the blame for the Plague. It also works due to crows naturally eating bugs as part of their diet. (Again, just an idea. NOT a suggestion or request. You do you, okay?)

6:43 The final design probably makes the final design feel less like a final evo and more bland is it’s lack of marking compared to the prevo. Carrying over those line patterns into the final evo or removing them from the second stage might help resolve your issue
