Using Christmas Cards for Pressure Washing Leads?
My buddy uses a van he tied into the vans fuel tank it would free up some room for you too and you just gotta fill up the van each morning no dealing with a 2nd tank
That sounds like a great idea! Honestly I didn’t even think of that as we were building our van out
Can I use two 40/40 to membrane or is there no need
The benefit of 2 4040 membranes would be more flow. I haven’t tested it but I’d almost upsize the carbon filter if you’re going to do so
Question, since the Gearbox you used has a Maximum RPM of 1450, doesn't that mean the TSF2021 only gets up to 7.5 GPM rather than 8?
I did not catch that when I did the build… that’s interesting. Real world testing though yields over 8GPM though with a fan tip. Technically you are correct though and I may be running the gearbox slightly higher than spec.
@@pressurewashnerds Oh interesting. Do you mind if I ask how you got it to run higher? Cause I want to do this exact build, but I just want to ensure I get over 8 GPM. Thanks btw for replying! ^_^
Any issues with the gearbox after this past season? @@pressurewashnerds
Nice Job got a new follower
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed the video
I like this idea but I would use SuperLube Silicone grease rather than Vaseline as that can break down the o-rings if they have any rubber in them. I am curious if I can modify this idea for a pressure washing cart.
Good call! I actually picked up some SuperLube silicone for the pressure washer build I did right after this
Great vidieo. I noiiced yoru using 10 awg but the remco has 12 awg. This is fine?
Yep! You could actually run 12AWG which is smaller than 10 AWG for the whole system but I like to err on the side of using wire rated for the peak current.
@@pressurewashnerds TY so much! Yup. The wire is expensive for what it is so I bought 7.00 jumper cables from norther tool that are 10 awg. Ill be re-purposing them lol
Do you guys recommend the warranty with the Predator washer? It’s $250 for a year of coverage. Wondering if you’ve had any issues that would need a pump replacement within the first year?
I don’t personally recommend the extended warranty beyond the factory one that’s included. $250 is almost enough for a new pump on its own. We never had any issues with ours. The pump has been solid.
@@pressurewashnerds that's what I was thinking as well. Thanks for the info!
Great video and build. Been thinking about one of these myself. What would you recommend as the smallest water tank?
Thank you! Personally I’d never run anything less than 250 gallons but if you’ll always be hooked to a strong supply, you could probably get away with a 150.
If you don’t mind helping I have a 8gpm 3500 psi machine with 18” surface cleaner and can figure out what tips to run. I’m told I need a variety, what do you recommend? Also I want another bigger surface cleaner what’s a good size to pair with my 18”?
2 nozzle
I’d give 5.0 orifice size nozzles at 25 degrees to start. That should land you around 2500psi
best explanation yet, I gone through a lot of videos. most don't go into the details as this. no one shows the actual tip pressure at tip with the larger tip great job
Thank you! I was frustrated figuring out tips when I started so tried to make this video to help out others
Probably the best video I have seen in our community. My name in GMB doesn't contain "pressure washing". However, I have 120 5 star reviews but rank 4th when I search pressure washing in my area name. I am on the fringe of my area name which is probably a 30 mile radius. Is my proximity keeping me from ranking #1 or is it my key word name? I'd actually pay you to analyze my situation
Thanks! Feel free to shoot your info over to dylan22runge@gmail.com and I can take a look, no charge.
A year later, is it still working and can you use a 50ft pole on it efficiently?
Still works great. I only ever clean 2nd story windows. I think you’d be best served with a booster pump for 50 feet
@@pressurewashnerds could you link a pump that youd recommend for this build?
Solid build!
Thank you!! But actually thank you for the fuel pump video showing where to tie in the switch at. Saved me some time haha
@ you’re welcome and I’m glad it was useful.
how much did you spent over all?
I’d have to add it all up again but I believe around $2600 with fuel tank, fuel pump and all the bells and whistles.
@@pressurewashnerds Dang! That's impressive! Great job man!
No torque spec for bolts?
Negative. All bolts are thread locked and external so I wasn’t too concerned about chasing down torque specs
I'm starting with the 4400 4.2 gallons per minute model.
That’s what we started with as well. Great machine for us and I never plan on selling it.
Good luck getting the coupon 😠
They run sales pretty frequent. Even at $950 right now, it’s much cheaper than the alternatives.
Does the relay comes with the pump?
Yep.
I have my name and it's AWESOME!!!
What did you go with?!
@pressurewashnerds I have to wait till the LLCand DBA goes through and then I'll tell you
Have you had any problems with original fuel pump or with overflowing issues?
Nope! Just about to winterize now but it’s ran great this fall.
I have had nothing but issues with my gearbox. I got the PA gearbox from envirospec and have reassembled it twice, making sure all bolts are tight, O rings are lubricated and siliconed, but still continue to get a slow oil leak between the gearbox and the pump. tempted to switch to this gearbox that you have.
Interesting! Did you check for burrs on the pump and gearbox casting? I’m at around 100 hours and this whole setup is running great.
@@pressurewashnerds that is what i was checking for when i took it apart this last time and couldnt find any of it. Going to check one last time
Let me know if you find anything. Inspect that o-ring too, or replace if you can.
Will this setup work for pulling water from an ibc tote for a 4 gpm pressure washer? I have a direct drive unit, and would like to have a small buffer tank setup for houses that may have low water pressure
These pumps have short duty cycles, meaning they’re only meant to run for like 30 seconds at a time. I would not recommend it for adding to a pressure washer. A better option would be to just upgrade your engine to a gear drive and pump. The TSG6835 is awesome if you’ve got the budget and your engine is large enough.
Great video, thank you!!!
Thanks, I appreciate it!
What is the average TDS level in your area??
200ish on average for city water. Country well water obviously higher.
Thank you your videos helping me understand it a bit. On a 4.2 gpm predator pressure washer. How do I adjust the pressure without messing with the gpm. The black unloaded valve or the turtle to bunny bar I’ve received mixed information.
You adjust the black unloader valve for pressure. Shouldn’t see any noticeable drop in GPM
What's a good economical WFP you would suggest?
Check out the Gardiner SLX series. We have a 22’ from them and it’s perfect for residential. I would definitely go carbon vs non-carbon even though they are a little more.
With the gear drive, we would need a pump from the buffer tank? That was the reason why I currently have a 5 GPM belt drive because it suck water from the tank. Has these info changed because I purchased it 5 years ago.
Gear drive and belt drive will both pull from a buffer tank as long as the pump isn’t super elevated from the water source. One thing I forgot to mention is you’ll want to prime the pump with positive pressure. I ran a garden hose to mine with 3/4 GHT to 3/4 NPT fitting and ran the machine for like 5 seconds. Then it pulled perfectly fine from the tank.
appreciate the humble and honest approach guys! congrats on the 1000 sub mark!
Thank you!
Did you say how much total you had in that set up? Great video
Thanks! At the time of this build, it was just under $900 including the 100’ hose from cart to pole. Pole not included. We paired this with a Gardiner SLX Carbon 22’
Hopefully you can pennies for those link because they help and hopefully in return it helps you . Thanks for sharing.
Thanks! We do get a little kickback from the Amazon links so I appreciate it
zip tie is a must many situation.
Absolutely! It’s gotten us through many sketchy situations with our trailer.
How much saving comparing to purchasing? Not sure I have the skill but it seems like you have all the part in your list that might give it a shot. Thanks.
This will save you at least $1000 compared to the cheapest 8GPM prebuilts that I’ve seen. Plus the added benefit of knowing your equipment in and out. I’d be happy to help you over the phone if you run into any issues.
@@pressurewashnerds Wow, thanks. That is what I was just talking about. Building, safe money and I will know what break and where to get the parts. I appreciate you sharing.
Nice job! I did the same build several years ago with the Predator 22hp. I'm not too fond of belt drives, either. I did add my gearbox to the pump before attaching it to the engine, and it was fairly easy. Except the GP pump I have is a beast and cranks out in excess of 10 GPM. I have also dual-fed the water into the pump on both ends, but I have had problems downstreaming with it because so much water is coming through it. I am open to suggestions there as I would love to apply detergent with it. The only mods I did on the engine were to replace the spark plugs to a higher quality, replace the fuel pump for the same reason, and got rid of the fuel shut-off valve which became faulty and added a manual shut-off for the fuel line. Other than that my Predator engines are outperforming my Hondas.
Love to hear that it’s working out well for you! Yeah I did a bucket test and assumed I mis-timed it because I was getting around 9.5-10GPM. The excess flow is awesome for rinsing houses but yeah pulling more chemical while downstreaming can be a bit of a waste.
Currently building mine as I looked for some assistance and found this. Perfect timing. Just trying to figure out the electrical.
Glad the video could help! If you need any extra help on the electrical just drop your email in the comments and I can walk you through it.
@@pressurewashnerds having the hardest time with the gearbox. I got the PA gear box from envirospec and have had leaks between the gear box and the pump where they attach. Took it apart, checked the O rings and they are all in tact but still getting leaks. would like to figure it out but want to switch to belt drive if this keeps coming up
I just overhauled one this spring in a small roller, love the rod inserts 😊😊❤
How many hours do you have?
Wow, would you look at that..
👀
I got this engine in a golf cart I keep having to take the carburetor apart because he floated is always sticking I've seen where others are having the same problem
I would switch over to EFI. That's what I do for all my small engines.
Interesting. Will definitely make an update video if I run into that same issue
@@WilliamEllison is there a kit that I can purchase for that do you have the part number
Don’t use the corn gas folks 😢
@@philliphall5198 I only use E free In all my small engines
My driveway has become a little bit black over time. Is that alive (algae) or is it just dirt?
Yep! It is almost certainly organic growth. Pressure washing will remove the appearance and SH will actually neutralize the growth.
@@pressurewashnerdsoh okay thank you. I will get some SH solution
Ive been running this engine/pump setup for about year and a half now. Has held up great. The jets on the engine got clogged once and was annoying to fix but other than that it has run perfect. Def a great budget build over honda and crx machines
That’s great to hear! Hopefully we both get a good few thousand hours out of them 🤞
Add a fuel shut valve on the fuel line and run the carb dry. Ethanol is the worst when it just stays in carbs.
I have a 5 gpm and 24 inch surface with 2503 tips and my last Job i etched the concrete. What is the best tips for me 40 degree?
Do you have a pressure gauge? I would check pressure first. Should be around 2000-2500 psi for general concrete
@@pressurewashnerdsis that pressure for just one tip? Or it divide between two ?
The hand cart linked is not the same model as shown in the video…if I am seeing things correctly. Lacks the think metal back straps that seemed to make your mounting solution viable.
The cart I used was a super heavy Milwaukee. I’ll update the link to the aluminum one I used for the new build, video coming soon. It has plenty of cross members
Thank you for posting this content, clear instructions and too the point.
Glad it was helpful!
Love the videos and breakdown here. I started with just flatwork and have now started mixing in siding and gutters on houses. What would y’all recommend for wood/cedar?
Thanks! Glad I could help. I’ll be honest, I’ve done hours and hours of wood cleaning research but have only done a handful of jobs. So far we like: Light growth - Sodium Percarbonate Heavier - Sodium Metasilicate Then we neutralize either one with oxalic acid. Have done no cedar thus far but I’ve heard good things about Green Ox Renew
awesome vid
Thank you! Hope it helped
Thank you for the video. You explained the process very well. I learned a lot, and I appreciate you taking the time to make the video for us newbies.
Glad it was helpful! We’ll keep trying to put out as much free educational stuff as we can
What’s up. Thank you so much and explains a lot. Do you have videos of putting a pump booster on or adding a second membrane. I want to start cleaning my solar panels with this.
Unfortunately neither. We’ve got great pressure and flow in our area. You’d just make a splitter though from the sediment filter to both RO membranes. Then run both outlets to another tee and into the DI tank. I would run the discharge on both to a common line through the same valve just so you only have one to adjust each time. Booster pump you can reference other builds but I’m assuming it would go in line right after the sediment filter.
checked its not free and urge to pay
It was free at the time of filming. I did have to make a free account and then deny all the offers, but it gives you a few trial tokens
Whats the update today with your cart? Have you switched the membrane filter yet or your di resin? Where do you purchase your resin ?I just bought all the things on Amazon for this build. I already had a small DI tank I just need new resin. Is there a specific membrane filter I seen that there was a lot of them.
Original DI tank is still running strong. It was honestly way overkill for our area and incoming TDS but we don’t clean windows everyday either. I would actually suggest getting the resin at Windowcleaner.com and they also sell a smaller DI cartridge.
Did you wish to do just RO or just Resin?
Good video brother. Setting expectations and a visible T&C always covers you.
Thank you! And yes it does, always!
How did you drill the hole in the frame when mounting the RO into the metal. Thanks.
Just use a center punch to mark the hole and then a standard drill and drill bit. It’s steel but it’s fairly thin and easy to drill through
