The village takes its name from the former river crossing to the north of the village, this was a crossing through the mudflats which was marked with stakes to give an idea of the water depth, hence the name Stakeford.

Just a short video of me and a mate wild camping on st Herberts Island on Derwent water in the Lake District. Travelled there by traditional open canoe. Hammock camped and cooked some food on an open fire.

Last minute wild camp, parked the car in the car park and walked the two miles to coe crag, set up Tarp and Bivvi bag on a ledge and watched the sun go down. Had some simple food and ac couple of drinks.

Two nights wild camping on the Islands of loch lomond. Set off in my canoe on friday evening leaving my car in the car park at Balmaha. Canoed over to Torrinch and set up my hammock and prepared some food, Steak sunday dinner and some cider to wash it down with. Next Morning set off nice and early and had a tour of a few of the islands with a lunch stop on the way.
