Greg Davies was an English & Drama Teacher I believe at a school not far from where I grew up near Slough. I remember hearing him say he was briefly a Head of Year at some point in his career too, but I might have imagined hearing that! As a teacher myself too, he’s got it down to a tee. It’s how we often feel but dialled up about 80%.

I have a theory that This episode actually inspired a real crime local to me where a kid actually got killed. Just after this episode aired for the first time I read in the local paper Some guys from a Audi garage did pretty much the same thing that happens to Will in that episode to the apprentice at the garage but I think they set him on fire and he died of his injuries.
