That's your opinion that it was one of the worst partnerships! I personally own 2 vehicles of that era from both manufacturers and they still run and look great!
Product and Management are 2 different things. They can still make a competent product and still have a disaster of a 'merger' or acquisition as it turned out to be, and vice versa
Did you look at other units? Still happy with the purchase? I am considering one for my SVR
@danielankeny someone in an F-Type fb page bought a different one but that one took more space. It is a little fiddly in terms of operation when you first use but it'll soon get used to pairing with your phone. I'd say 8/10 not perfect but I'm quite happy... and yes I recommend it
@@maz500 thanks man! I just got my SVR last Saturday and could not love it more, but the wired connection to the phone is clunky
Great review 🎉 I don’t know what to buy the a35 or the a45s I do a lot of miles so fuel and insurance is to think about would love the a45s but I would wrap it round a tree coming from an Astra gtc limited edition that like 100 BPH 😂
Thank You! If you prefer to keep it standard, the A35 is competent but if you prefer to modify then the handmade M139 engine in the A45 has a lot more potential (A35 technically has an upgraded A250 engine)
Thanks for having me on! It's important to point out that manual mode is fully manual. You need to enable it by clicking the button near the drive selection, it doesn’t automatically enable by using the paddles.
Where do you get that Vent with the hole in for the Gauge?
I think it was done aftermarket
@@maz500 yes ok that, but where do I get it lol
@Choconuss I would've have said eBay, though I haven't really asked the owner
eBay has molded replacement ones however the one in the video is just a cut up factory vent
SUPER!!!!!!!!
Superb video 😊
The pops and crakles on the overun do sound completely fake unfortunately
@casperme6552 this later example has the watered down system due to regulation
Thanks Maz for your video. I'm looking to buy one so a nice honest review.
@@chipbutty4460 you're welcome
Great video. Am thinking of getting an XK 4.2 and this is certainly pushing me further into going ahead with it!
Love it man! I have 9-3 2.0T Aero and let me tell you how bouncy it rides...😂 Really good cars and too underrated. Keep up the good work fam! 👍🏻
Plenty of cool features throughout the car!
Love that car Thank you Maz . Made it all the way to the Highlands of Scotland after your video :) took 5 people and luggage all the way there with average 32mpg :) until I got to the hills where it dropped to 8mpg 😂 Thanks for the great video. Louis
@modified_mercs my pleasure and I hope to do more content with cars from this manufacturer

Лет 10 назад гонял на таком шедевре.... максимально эндорфиновая тачка))
My son has a rare VX55 pre-production model. I never understood why no manufacturer rather than having two useless forward facing rear coupe seats instead had one usable seat facing sideways from the passenger side to the driver side, BTW the slot in the arm rest is where you can insert the key.
@@McGrory69 the rear seats are mainly there for insurance purposes
@@maz500 I know about lowering insurance hence the UK has models like the Honda CRZ that had useless back seats other markets didn't get but just wondered why no manufacturer ever tried one usable seat rather than two useless ones? Too late now as all you can buy is fat two ton electric vehicles.
Good review. What phone holder is that?
Hi, forgot to reply, I don't know as it's not my personal car
Great review, as usual! And with a very well spec'ed M2 Competition, with the automatic high beam button on the indicators stalk as well as the heated steering wheel, plus all the rest. Well done! I also like the button to adjust the gear changes, and the bottom of the gear selector. I didn't know that the adaptive suspension was optional on M2 Competition.
Lots of detail.. I’m learning about them as I’ve just bought a manual e30 325i. You are more than welcome to come review the car in Milton Keynes. 👍🏽
@taylore30gang Hi, thank you for the comment. I would love to film the car. Though nowadays in order to keep reviews fair/universal, I use Gloucester as the test route. Once again you're more than welcome to bring it there.
That is my ideal spec xkr. And 4 grand?? Why have I only seen this video now???
I found that exact jaguar car parked next to a shop and it said MAZ500 on the window that’s how I found your channel
Same i found it by tesco express
Great car
Thanks for this detailed review. Very helpful as I'm thinking of buying an XK. One small thing: the word is 'damping', not 'dampening'. Dampening means to make something wet.
@@UKTonyMagill thank you. I had dampening in mind because the adjective is dampened
@@maz500 It's actually damped in this context. Not dampened. Two distinct meanings. Sorry for being pedantic, and thanks again for the review. I think I'm going for the later 5l version. Beautiful car in whatever form!
Reassuring that these safety features are incorporated into such cars
The 3 buttons are built in garage door opener buttons.
Maybe be worth for me to say that I've owned an E93 335i pre-LCI, with the N54 engine, which was very good too. A full twin turbo engine, while the N55 is twin scroll turbo charged, and with the fantastic ZF 6-speed. But this E93 335i LCI, with the N55 engine, is about 10% more fuel efficient and with the DCT 7-speed it's a bit more eager to accelerate. And like you said, the M-Sport package is fully worth it, especially in regards to the seats.
Choice video bro 😎!!!! Regards 👨🎤🇳🇿👍🍸🍸
I have the 6 speed ZF in my XF, it is a bit lazy in normal driving but stick it in sport or dynamic mode or both if you're brave and hold on! The 8 speed with a decent engine size should be lovely safe not have to hunt too much. The only thing that stops me getting an XK is that the XF is a fine handling car without the compromise of the XK. It's a GT Saloon if there is such a thing.
The XF is a fine choice. I had one before my XK and I'll (hopefully) get one again and get the XK into the garage.
Replacing the 17" 205 runflats with 17" 215 non-runflats also made huge improvements, in comfort and in being more quiet, as well as a bit more grippy around corners.
The suspension has the optional DDC - Dynamic Damper Control - which I think is 10% softer on normal modes and 10% stiffer on Sport mode, compared to standard suspension.
On the side indicators, one can actually turn them off by pulling in the same direction, I find it that it helps a bit to avoid the left-right-left common problem.
How do you get it in service mode though? Thanks
1) turn ignition on then off 2) pull on the wiper stalk (single wipe mode) 3) press start again & immediately let go of stalk
Amazing thanks for the video- any link on these spats?
@jordan860322 you're welcome. For the spats, just type in the part numbers as shown on the video onto the Internet or ask your local dealer's parts department
A very good looking car, I do like a 4 Series. And I agree with you, cars like this would benefit from a bit more leather over the dashboard, although the quality of the plastic is quite good, so not a big miss. Am I right in saying that the engine is the N55 3.0l inline 6? What are the figures for the bhp and torque?
Hi, thank you for your comment. The performance stats are at 2:14
Ok, so looks like the same engine as in my 335i, although I think the 435i is slightly more fuel efficient. 🤔
Very Informative car review Maz500
wow, where you got it from?

I'll be taking my v6 down to them soon, found them on an ebay advert and then came across them in the forums. Would like to set up a meet with you one day I'm a first owner a week old 😊
Very informative as always Maz 👏🏻 👍🏼
I have a 2009 XKR-S, also with the 4.2 AJ-V8. Its a guided missile with a free armchair attached, my economy hovers between 16-20 mpg in mixed driving, around 25mpg on a run
I get around 16mpg around town and 29mpg to 32mpg from my NA so much of a muchness as they say. Where mine is 'fun' yours must be mental. Love it!

@@toffeepie1878 I see your were a Subaru guy. Lovely 3.0R. I had a Impreza Turbo in 96' and what that car could do on a track or a country road is still vivid in my memory to this day. It made me look as talented as Michael Schumacher behind the wheel. Four wheel neutral drifts at 110mph sounds insane but it felt normal. Damn, I need a track car!

I have a 2018 Jaguar F-Type. Do you know if the earlier models 2013-2015 pedal covers will fit? I'm looking at some on ebay and it's listed that it came from a 2015, but they are saying it fits my year too. Just hesitant to buy and then they don't fit. Thanks for the help.
Yes, they will since the standard pedals are the same.
Shocking maz , that voice system is a pain , like having the wife with you ,back Street driver lol. But brilliant TH-cam maz thanks
All of these were stitched out of the original review, I'm sure there were more that have been cropped out
You are killing me with all those beautiful cars 😊
Thank you, it's always a pleasure to make content on them
Yes agree I have the same car but on 07 plate,it is a gt first, that's the appeal,no point in trying to catch it out it's a superb grand tourer averaging 28 around the town and 34 on a high speed run...brilliant and beautiful!
It's that dual nature that Jags have that makes them so special. I can waft around town and then enjoy the feedback on a decent B Road. Jag man for life!

As far as I’m concerned Jaguar are in a class of their own. Beautiful cars.
Pretty sure these are a 4 speed
Just realised I haven't replied: I stand corrected
Heard you say you currently drive jaguar ftype...me too. Getting my I4 Emira hopefully by December (in US). Will let you know how they compare!
I will stick with my 5.0 xfr, although i would love an xkr-s-gt
Thanks to @maz500 for featuring my XK, glad you enjoyed it. Maz actually taught me about a couple of features my car had that I was unaware of. This is the tenth Jaguar I’ve owned over the last 34 years, and although I’ve owned others I should have kept, it’s this X150 that will be with me to the end. Special shout out to @wraptorcustoms for maintaining (and tuning) my Jag to the highest standards, and Paul @life_on_cars for his very helpful XK videos. If you haven’t checked out their channels, you’re missing out!
