DAY 1 of CXL + SmartSurface PRK Surgery to fix my Keratoconus.
มุมมอง 661ปีที่แล้ว
I have a condition called Keratoconus which was detected in 2019 during a Lasik surgery appointment and I was informed that I am not a suitable candidate for Lasik surgery. After lot of research I found about CXL TPRK surgery which helps with improving vision and fixing keratoconus at the same. Today was Day 1 of my surgery at Pacific Laser Eye Center. Everything went smooth so far !

Hi there, im getting prk+cxl on my right eye and intacs on my left eye, do you think ill be able to get back to work in front of the comouter after a couple of weeks from your experience? Ps: i am currently not using any glasses or sclerals as i do not need them overall. Thank youu
@@soukainalazar Yes I think around 2 to 2.5 weeks you should be comfortable to sit in front of computer. Get one of those blue light filter sunglasses from Amazon and they help with reducing eye fatigue after surgery. Also make sure you lubricate your eyes often
@tusharnayyer951 thanks a lot for ur quick response, very reassuring. Glad the procedure worked for u and hope it produces similar results for me as well ❤
@@soukainalazar No worries, Good luck on your procedure. I am sure it's going to be a great recovery for you as well.
Hey! Whats your corneal thickness as of now in the right eye specifically?
Do u have insta i want contact you
Per and post corneal thickness?
Please update us! Your videos help me ease my mind going into TPRK
Just posted a 12 month update.
what was your sight prior to 20/25? i believe you said in a earlier video left was 20/400? but i cannot seem to find where i had seen that at.
Correct it was 20/400 on the left and 20/50 on the right .
@@tusharnayyer951 Holy mother of god thats some incredible improvement. I believe i am a 20/200 bad eye perhaps 20/150 and maybe a 20/80 good eye and sadly no where offers this in my state so im forced to travel out of state and not have insurance so its very costly. But im looking to have this done in the next few months. Hoping i can maybe get to a point where glasses give me 20/20
You will be fine. Looks like yours is not too bad.
Do you have any glare or starburst?
I have Very slight glare
Hey bro, how is your vision now?? I have my surgery after 15 days
Hi Tushar, how is vision today?
Not really much progress . It's about the same, left eye is still sharper than right but overall I can read very well at distance. Sometimes near vision could be a very slight blurry but I am 37 so that could be natural to my age.
@@tusharnayyer951 what was your prescription before doing this procedure
Hey.. hope your fine. Recently done my Tpek with cxl..Is there anyway to chat dm or speak with u...
Sorry bud, unfortunately not taking DMs at this time. I don't really have much to share other than what I post in my videos. Good luck on your recovery !
Hey Tushar! I hope you are doing well. Kindly post a video about your journey soon please! Also, please tell in that video about the journey of your double vision post surgery (when it peaked and when it started to go away and how is it now), about the power of your eyes (both cylindrical and spherical) post 1 month and post 3-4 months. And also about the glare, starburst at night and if it has reduced and after how many months it reduced/improved. Thanks. Take care.
What's your renowned doctor's name & which hospital he practices in ? You said you're power went up from 0.25 to 1.25 which is significant myopic & need glasses for the same . Do you currently use glasses , contacts or sclearls for correction or planning to use one within few weeks ? Also give your uodate about change in cylindrical power changes specifically, they're more crucial. Is your doctor convinced that tprk has also eliminated irregularities/ higher order abbreations ...or halos which is efffect of it entirely or to some extent. How did the point light object/ street lights looks now & how do they use to look earlier ...any improvements / or changes in streaks pattern. Can you read naked only with your right eye , left being covered/ closed. Please answer these questions in next update Tushar. Thanks.
Great Tushar! It looks like you are happy with the result. I have a question, does the 20/25 become 20/20 with glasses?
Yes actually pretty great correction with glasses.
Hi Tushar thanks for your videos Do you still have double vision with your glasses or not ?
@@Mo-qf5ye Hi not very much, everyone once in a while I see some double vision
Thanks for your reply it would be great if you keep make videos about your progress and if you could share your Pentacam (your right eye )or at least where does the cone located and how much was the thickness / the maximum diopter (curvature) and one more Question regarding TPRK do you think that the doctor customize some Parameter or the the computer does the surgery by itself guided by Cornea topography I know this is a lot of questions and info but unfortunately there isn’t enough experiences published on TH-cam/Internet
@@Mo-qf5ye hey. Did you also have the same procedure? TPRK C3R?
What's your current cylindrical power in both eyes & what was it before surgery ?? I want exact autorefractometer reading !!
Hey this is all the info I have. I recently got it checked as part of my 3 months check in drive.google.com/file/d/1fXdBHx4RjPoaMdZS6GDcMmnD9raZEzdS/view?usp=drivesdk
@@tusharnayyer951 left eye seems more impacted but power is just 1.25 cyl...i wud say normal astigmatism guys have it more 😂
Did you also have the same surgery?
How do you see point lights at night + how many moons you see with one eye closed ?!
Hii 😊
bro how are you doing now? .... i had my surgeries done feb 23 i have very little progress if any, the topography shows progress but i dont see it .. i dont know what to expect kind of discouraged only did one eye still need to do the other
I am doing well, thank you ! I am really sorry to hear that. Did you do CXL + PRK ? or simply CXL ? Although I am no Doctor but from what I have seen and read ,recovery usually takes 3 to 6 months although it can take longer if you have corneal haze.
@@tusharnayyer951 i did both CXL & PRK... ive read that too in my research so i dont know if im being impatient but ive heard of other people talking about that they see significant improvements in the first couple of weeks...definitely frustrating .. i have a follow up tomorrow ... i'll see what they say.. i had one 3 weeks ago the doctor acted like it was normal ...but i dont know i dont feel it lol
@@omartaveras6455 Please ask them if you have a higher level of corneal haze which could be the reason your vision may not be clear.
@@tusharnayyer951 i will keep you updated
@@omartaveras6455 Good luck 🤞 !
Sorry to hear that Tushar. Did you have a topography scan during your last visit or just a visual acuity measurement?
No scans unfortunately. I do think it's part of natural healing process as I sometimes wake up with better vision and it degrades nearing end of the day or if my eyes are tired. I am booking an appointment with Pacific Laser Eye Center next week to reverify if they see any degradation per say
Hey what was your cornea thickness on the c3r operated eye?
Before surgery it was 430 in left ,478 on right. These are approximations as I don't recall exact numbers unfortunately
@@tusharnayyer951 ok I am actually going to have this surgery and I have so many questions, can I reach you on your phone or insta/fb ? Like what was your power, before and after your c3r + prk ? From where did you get this done?
@@kirti812 Hi all questions are answered in my logs. Please go through them and let me know if you find anything unanswered.
@@kirti812hey dude. Did you have the surgery? I had the same surgery
Sir I am from India , where can I get help from ... Which doctor as per u is best here & can help me with tprk+ cxl surgery... Pls help.
Hey bud I donot unfortunately have much info on Doctors who perform this in India. But this doctor has been posting lot of videos of performing similar surgeries in India. Maybe connect with him and see if he can help you with this. th-cam.com/video/cEwvkEKz6NA/w-d-xo.html
It's amazing that you achieved 20/25! I am sure it will get better in the following months.
I hope so as well !
Great video. Thanks for sharing your experience. Could you possibly also make a video on what KC conditions you initially had (thin cornea, +/- numbers, etc.) and how it changed after surgery. I haven't yet checked all the videos, sorry if you've already mentioned that.
Yes ! I am planning to create a video on that soon.
Please search about Gulani Vision... He is doing a surgery called Lazerplastique which improves the vision completely and prevent the use of specs/lenses
Do u got any corneal haze/ cloudiness which is often obvious after cxl...is it clearing up or still persists.? Can you mention which doctors u consulted in India or hospitals u considered in India for Cxl ?!
Post surgery after a week I had slight blurriness all of a sudden in my right eye which has now substantially reduced. Idk if it was corneal haze but it matches the description of cloudiness. Whatever it was, it was very minimal. I consulted Cure Sight Laser Center in Ahmedabad in 2019, and last year some other doctors whose name I donot know as they were consulted by my parents on my behalf. More or less they all suggested CXL Or CXL and sclerals/ Icl later.
Do u see halos at night ? Also pls tell at night how many moons u see . Do u see multiple copies / images .? What was ur cylinder power & thickness pre & post cxl.
I used to see some halos in the night but it's more or less not visible anymore. I don't see multiple moons. I do have double vision but it's greatly reduced after surgery and seems to be better now. But some days double vision issue is worse some days not so much. You can view my prescription strength here pre surgery ibb.co/PDVc3Vg. Right now I believe I have 20/20 left eye and 20/25 right eye . It was 20/400 left eye and 20/50 right eye before surgery.
Hey. Dud you also go through the same TCAT/TPRK C3R surgery?
That’s an incredible improvement in just 21 days. I think things are going to get better over time. Hopefully double vision is going to improve too over a period of over 6 months.
Thanks for the update! I hope your vision keeps improving!
Glad it's going well, thanks for the update!
Good luck with the recovery! If you don't mind, can you post your pentacam maps?
Hi, I unfortunately donot have most recent scans but I have a scan from 2019. My most recent scans were slightly worse than 2019 scans : Here is the link to view 2019 scan drive.google.com/drive/folders/1gNoPvy-vcN7c6Yp6JMtolh_Hzo-P6r4Q
@@tusharnayyer951 Hi again, the link does not work. I believe that copy pasting does not work you have to create a share link or something. Anyway, I do not wish to bother you during your recovery. Best wishes!
@@pniavis oh That's odd, I indeed kept the settings to be open for all. Anyways I uploaded the image here as well. Let me know if this one works for you postimg.cc/gallery/CSV2rWR
@@tusharnayyer951 thank you very much! I will be watching your reports.
Thanks for documenting this, I have been following along and am glad your recovery seems to be going well. I am in Vancouver and have a consultation with one of the doctors that operates out of PLEC in April. No idea if I am eligible for surgical options, my previous doctor said my keratoconus had stabilized so they didn't give me CXL. What is the total recovery time they advise before returning to normal work/activities? Will you be getting contacts or glasses after a certain time?
Hi James, Plec suggested that I should take a month off ideally but 2 weeks is the bare minimum suggested. However I just got my bandage contact lens removed and Doctor said I am ready to return to work if I wish to as my vision is 99% healed. I don't plan to get glasses/contact as one of the reason I went for this surgery was to correct my vision as well which by the way is now 20/25 for both eyes !
@@tusharnayyer951 Congrats, that's great news! Were you wearing contacts before this? I've been in scleral lenses for a while now and I don't mind them too much but if I could go lens free that would be amazing.
@@jameswwright I have only worn glasses , never tried contact lenses. I agree, nothing feels better than going glasses free !
