It cannot be considered real that the Scots came directly from the ancient Scythia to Ireland. If it has any reality, which is not very likely, it merely being a myth to connect them to Biblical 'history', then it merely means they were thought to have come from 'somewhere' beyond the Classical world of Greece & Rome. This most likely refers to Europe beyond the Rhine, where the Anglo- Saxons also came from. This was to equate 'Scythia' with 'Scandia', Scandinavia. It is just possible that a 'Spain' connection was real, but this must have been in post Roman times , not hundreds of years earlier. The Biblical lineage is completely fabricated, & the whole 'invasions' tale is mythological.
