How to Replace Tubeless Rim Tape

I had an OTB incident on memorial day and ended up fracturing my left thumb and getting a partial tear on some ligaments in my left hand. Since then it's been a long road to recovery but I am just thankful that I will not have to have surgery. Over the next 2 months or so I will be healing up and getting ready for some major changes to the channel. I will be back full force in the near future. ...

It was time to replace the stock Sram X-Sync 2 chainring on my Giant Trance so I figured why not make a video to show some tips and tricks on how to have a successful installation. The most important part of the install is making sure you purchase the correct offset and tooth count for your front chainring. If you go with a higher tooth count you should check to see if you have clearance from y...

An extra note to this video: if you get oil on your brake pads then there is almost no saving the pads as they are porous and the oil will soak throughout the entire brake pad (you can try to burn the pads to get the oil out with fire, b...

Beating the Rain at LGP! Short MTB Loop after work.
Which trail is that in gunpowder
It’s the lookout trail on the south side of the park.
Also known as the quarry trail
@@mikemtbs ohh I ridden it before. I take the jump line down most the time I went down that trail once
Isn't the barrel adjuster supposed to be 1 TURN out not 1 click (which is 1/4 turn or so)?
I go by 1/4 turns or clicks but you can use whatever measurement you want to
Nice video Mike, the private property trails are much more defined now on both sides of the creek, just avoid the short cuts. Stay close to the creek on both sides and you will enjoy the ride.
difference between 35 Gold and revelation?? now that the Psylo just came out for 2025 (replaces all the old 35 forks) not their signature forks ex. pike/lyrik
The revelation could accept a better damper and had similar inside diameter to the lyric and pike
Can I use 5wt or 15wt rockshox oil
Use what comes with the kit. I think it’s a super light weight oil in the packet. You can order the oil from Jenson USA or any of the major online bike shops
Are you sure that the bike that you threw over the guardrail is tough enough for that kind of abuse, you should really consider taking better care of your equipment.
Nice to blow off some steam, I hope that those days are over with. Good luck to you.
Nice jump at 15:40 Mike.
I’m riding an Ozark trail ridge with a recon silver RL and this guy is talking about an entry level bike being $3000…. This is what is wrong with the MTB community. I’m not going into debt for a hobby.
The complaint was an entry level fork specd on a 3k bike…
@ that makes more sense. I would agree with you. I just bought a 35 for $168 from Jensens USA as an upgrade from my recon.
When do u know. Its time yo service the motion dampeming
Just after 200 hours or if something feels weird
If I change from a 34T chainring to a 38T chainring will my chain length need to be increased for proper shifting? Great video thanks
I actually don’t know the answer for sure. It would make sense that you would have to extend the chain a few links because of the increased surface area. But again I don’t know for sure
Super nice trail system.
So what is your upgrade sir?
I found a deal on a fox factory 36
What was the outside temperature during the test?
40 degrees f. I know pressure drops w temperature. So I’d imagine if it was hotter I’d add have a few more psi
@@mikemtbs Yes, but I was curious about the temperature cause on a grip 3 pos Performance fork I struggled to hav good traction ans smooth work under 5 degress Celsius, 40F is 4.4C degrees, so quite "cold" and judging by the video it worked quite well. I sold my fork a couple days ago and bough a brand new 2023 160 Fox 36 with Grip2, very keen on trying it out :) We have similiar temperatures nowadays in Hungary.
@marzocchidj3 ok very cool… literally. I felt like I had very good traction when using the fork. Try not to go above 20% sag and the fork works best
I wanted to like this but I found the magnetic latch really uncomfortable. It was bulky and hard and I could not find a comfortable place under my neck for the latch.
Awsome video! thanks a million.
Thanks for watching!! Have a great day!
Thank you! Very nicely done video! Straight and to the point.
thanks for the install but were was the comparison as per the title. keen to know what you though of the difference.
It’s more sturdy. Feels better when shifting. Feel of the lever is also better in my opinion
I love the performance of these brakes for the price. I had mt420’s with 203mm/203mm rotors on a Kona stinky park bike and they were awesome.
Thanks for the very detailed instructions! I think i have enough confidence to do it my self!
Awesome!! Have fun!
I got a faulty valve core on my deluxe plus. I let the air out then removed the valve core but it broke inside and half the valve core is stuck inside. My bicycle dealer is making a warranty claim on it. Hopefully it all works out.
That sounds like a warranty issue. You shouldn’t have to pay for that at all.
Goodevening .. my new (0km) 35 Gold has the problem with non-functioning rebound speed regulation, lower leg was greasy near the cap(hexagonal shaft Is still oily) and two last compression clicks almost completely lockout the fork .. any suggestions about the reasons of such a behaviour please ?
Yea send it back if it’s new. Check out all my other videos on the fork… performance doesn’t get much better no matter what you do
Find a used marzocchi z1 or get a taro or fox fork. Best place for the 35 gold is a dumpster
Yari not taro
@@mikemtbs it's impossible to send It back now(, maybe I will sell It .. a guy in comments suggests to change oil with a syntetic 15w One, have you ever tried a similar solution in this years ?
Didn’t try changing oil viscosity but did put enduro wiper seals on and it made a difference in the smoothness of the fork. Sorry man it’s just a budget fork with poor performance
How do you like that new fox 36? i just ordered 1and im also taking off a 35 gold after 3 years.
I love it! The difference is tremendous! Your going to be riding faster and have more control
Thanks!.. i cant wait..it was 40% off, otherwise i would be getting something cheaper. I went with the grip x damper because i like to climb a lot on my emtb.
That’s awesome! Where did you find the deal? I’m looking for a new rear shock
It looks like you took off SM-RT66 rotors which are already compatible with metallic pads. Couldn’t you have just swapped pads?
Lopez Sarah White Timothy Lewis Barbara
Lopez Gary Moore Michelle Jones Matthew
Hi Mike. Can you give the reference of the seals please ? Thx.
Williams Deborah Garcia Jeffrey Brown Kenneth
Great tutorial!
why are you not using 126 Tooth?
Tje fact this is supposed to be done every 50 hours is a ball ache
got the helmet. Not mentioned in your video is that the dial adjustment carriage has 5 points of adjustment. The who dial carriage has a center attachment that can be moved (2 positions) . The attachment uses the same click in and out as the cheek pieces. The the carriage is attached on both side areas. These have 3 points of adjustment to make the helmet bigger or smaller. It comes in the center position of the three positions. Last, make sure the cheek pads are on the correct side. If reversed, they will get on your ears.

I recently purchased my first ebike, the Merida E-ONE Sixty 500, it comes with this fork. I will lower my expectations, as long as it works and lasts, for now it is enough, in about 4 more years I will see if it is worth upgrading. I hope it is the 2022 version and does not have the problems of the previous version.
Ur doing it wrong buddy. Use a garbage can. Use soapy water. Use a cushcore dildo lever.

Why doesnt spinning freely... It looks like stuck.. They said that they git 3 bearings on it
im planning on getting a Drag Shift 7.1 with that fork,do u have any opinion for that bike?
I replaced my 30t chain ring on my Sram X01 crank. Drive side 8mm extractor bolt like your crank. When installing the crank and applying 54nm of torque, the crank will not move! Any suggestions?
Is it cross threaded? If it is it will take a lot of force to move
Does the rebound damping adjustor actually click on your RockShox 35 Gold fork? Mine (on a new bike) does not, so I'm trying to figure out if it is faulty or they were just too cheap to include clicks. (I posted this comment previously but it didn't appear.)
Brown Sandra Gonzalez Lisa Hall Steven
Wilson Brian Miller Patricia Hall Steven
Looks great Dawn!
GX is very good. Very reliable. I’ve owned GX, X01, and XX1. The latter 2 have a more pronounced tactile feel on clicks but really, GX is more than good enough.
its easy after the firsrt try
Ehm ... you advised to clean the calipers/pistons in the caliper with oil. And you didnt advise to clean the calipers and the pistons with a brake cleaner afterwards. I'd correct that part if i were you. The oil part is completely unneccessary and life/limb/bone-dangerous. Just use a proper, inexpensive brake cleaner.
6:24
nice video and nice bike!!! how much do you weight? and do you have some token inside? thanks.
Hi thanks so much! I'm about 170lbs and had 1 token installed
@@mikemtbs make sense.... i'm 160lbs and working on set the same fork (F36 factory 2021 vvc) @ 160mm travel , and i agree with you about lsr ( i read online that increase lsr increase compression, so the trick for less harsh feeling is to use lsr as open as you can) , so i'm : 75/77 psi , one token, lsr 12 / hsr 5 / lsc 12 / hsc fully open or just one clik from wide open. This is where i landed for the moment... not sure it's perfect yet I even tryed lsr all open and compensate a bit with more lsc....and seems to work... very less harsh feeling on the small/medium chatter
@XqDezzy10 very cool. It's nice to have all the options to really fine tune the ride. Enjoy your fork!!
@@mikemtbs just the last things, do you remains on the last setting posted in the video or, because the video is 6mth old, you have done some others changes?
@XqDezzy10 I've changed a bunch then went back to those settings
Hello. Thanks for a great video. I have a question. Is there a fork that would work or feel a decent amount better and still be somewhat affordable? I have a Roscoe 9 hardtail.
Absolutely, check out marzocchi z2
