great video thanks
Nice sawing. Enjoying your channel. Glad Max is staying warm.
Thank you Mr Frick! I enjoy your comments.
Good stuff man! That place is really taking shape.
Thanks, we're working hard to make it a functional setup!
The old pony 6's would pop on several but the old 8H would pop on 1 or 2 and then expand slowly. Hold the cranker handle and let it pop AFTER the pony got to idle and warm up while I drank a cup of coffee and turn the diesel slow with no compression. Always liked pony Kitties. Good looking three-by-heavies. Make good dragline mats. BLESS ALL YALL.
Thanks Lewie they sure are heavy especially just cut!
@@troytreeguy I moved them with the drag bucket but some were 4x12. Had cable loops on the ends.
I see the roof over the log deck getting done , nice job!
Hope you warmed up, Pal. I am IN-SIDE!
Getting metal on it today!
@@troytreeguy YAAY! Gotrain here but 40's.
what is the object of this channel by the way ?

@@troytreeguy I would've answered, ''who cares''?
Nice sawing and video
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it.
I see you covered the hydraulic control. sure will save it from all that saw dust. Sure like all the imprudent make work nicer.
We enjoy making it better all the time. If Dave and I had unlimited time, much would improve. We make the most of what we do have and enjoy the process. It’s been almost 9 years in the making.
Good stuff man! That place is really taking shape. I really dig the amount of covered space and organization. Systems. I’d love to check it out some day.
Yeah it’s definitely come a long way in nine years! Appreciate you noticing. Be well Bus
🇺🇸🇩🇰😀🌨️☕👍
Thank you!
Nice camera setup. Nice video
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it.
Have you done any thing to the motor that was on the edger? Lookes like its working just fine. Marry Christmas to all you and have a great n New Year.
Yes I had the radiator rebuilt we serviced the engine and now it’s getting a new grill before going back to work!
Yall triumphed one more time. Dave is a blasted acrobat walkibng that board but maybe the board he was holding helped him not to flop off. Thanks Rob and everybody. BLESSINGS to ALL yall
Thanks for watching Lewie!
@@troytreeguy Don't freeze!
what did mark and edy not like about this?
Beats me 😆
Do you re-temper the saw blades?
I said temper but I meant tension, although temper could be effected. I take them to a saw shop about a half hour from here and they will take good care of me. Thanks for following along.
I read the comments before watching your video. When your offbear throttled up your Power unit he changed the tension dynamics of your blade. At the start of the video the saw was lightly and consistently brushing the log on return. I noticed a bit of saw dust/chips flying out of the tail end of the cut. After throttling up your rim (of the blade) stretched letting the tension out and then the tail was loose and trying to pass the portion of the blade that was cutting/working. That is where the heat started to build up in the central and maybe the eye of the saw. Your blade appeared to be standing up at the slower speed but your power unit was not putting out 100% . What size motor (I assume it is a Detroit) are you running and what sheave/pulley sizes are you running to what speed is your saw tensioned/Hammered to and of course diameter and tooth style are relevant too. I prefer to runn my rim speed around 9.000 feet per minute as I am not worried about HIGH production and at 10K RPM everything had better be just right. Nice video. Did you have the complete belt feed and just decide to go with Hydraulic feed? Now that I have commented I had better subscribe and see "The Rest Of The STORY" So many things to think about and the mill is so close to right ,, You won't have much to perfecting it.. G'Luck
YUPP I got the cart before the horse.. I should have watched your play list/Videos before commenting. I still wish to know your sheave sizes and Blade diameter. Thanks.
671 Detroit turning 1600 rpm, mandril turning 750 rpm making the bit speed 9,420 feet per minute. Dave used to give it a hundred extra rpm to help the blower along and it never complained. The board on the husk got dust under it and it began touching the saw blade without our knowing. We made more space by that board and are not having issues since. Thank you for your lovely comment and knowledge appreciate you and hope you keep watching.
🇺🇸🇩🇰😀👍
Looks as organic as muchas I could stand too. Progress strikes again. God Bless Yall
NICE boards any day and good on the blower. Sad aboiut the other blade but te knock doc will fix it and hope Dave is good after that thump. Those things HURT! Happy weekend and God Bless ALL Yall!
Thank you for the kind words. It's been a busy week, but we're making progress!
@@troytreeguy Sure looks like it. Gopher it!
That's a good looking shed over the log deck. And I like how the little loader can squeeze in between the deck
You’ll like it better when finished! Snows got us delayed till the weather melts off. The little loader fits almost every where!
Organic on the horsepower, like nitrous😂
Don’t panic!
Nice blower. Thanks for the idea! Take care
Glad you enjoyed it!
Sure do miss seeing the sawdust out the window😀
Soon to return!
Hows the new sawdust shed working out
It’s working great Stuart stay tuned for this weekends show!
Dang, you too? Mine got extremely hot last Friday. I'm having hammered this Friday. Nice video
THAT waS A BAD POPback and forth. Glad you caught it. Don't need no wrecks. Saw new sawmill boards making a roof and NICE boards till things heated up Yall be calm and God Bless Yall!
Yeah Dave reacted quickly to my concerns and hopefully the saw was saved. Dust raised the deck board and the edge began rubbing, there’s more space now so that can’t happen. Thanks Lewie God Bless
@@troytreeguy The large guy is quick on the draw and you'll know what shape the blade will be in when the bus motor fires up again. Blessings to all!
hi making sawdust , nice log when a saw gets hot a good sawyer makes pancakes on it . great sawing best to all john
Thanks John she’s going to the saw shop soon for doctors checkup. After cooling it was still oil canning just less than the video. Be well
I enjoy watching these videos. Im retired now. (Im 61).. My younger brother (he's 54) is a Timber dealer here in Georgia.. our late Dad was in the Timber trade for 41 yrs. He was a Timber cruiser (wood procurement) .. for the last 8-10 yrs my younger brother has talked about getting a Woodmizer sawmill that him, me & our older brother could have something to do when younger brother finally retires & sells out his business.. We discussed just cutting "specialized" wood for us & maybe a few customers.. such as Eastern Red Cedar, Red Oak, White Oak, Black Cherry, Black Walnut (Walnut is a very HARD wood! Yet it has BEAUTIFUL grain).. This would just give us something to do instead of just sitting around.. We have unlimited access to timber tracts to pick out the wood we would use.. We will probably start our own TH-cam channel too 😊 Thanks for posting your videos.. Each September just outside Fayetteville, Ga.. they hold the Inman Farm Days festival.. antique tractors, farm implements, etc... they have an old sawmill such as yours onsite & do demonstrations/operate it for bout 30-45 minutes every couple hrs! It is driven by belt from a PTO flywheel on an old John Deere or Massey Ferguson tractor 😊😊
Thank you for the wonderful story and comments. Stay tuned there’s plenty of adventure coming!
Nice looking log deck, and good looking 6x6's should make for great bog crossing's.
Thank you for watching
Where this video starts out at is exactly where I'm from im just a few miles from 31 in somerset County, close to hidden valley and 7 springs.. Really cool to see you guys traveling as far as ya did along with the timing of this video on your trip, I also am here because of Mark's and Eddie's channel..
Thank you Anthony.
We say hemlock posts 6x6s and they use the to put in the water for boat docks. Also say 2 1/4 X 8 1/4 and 2 1/4 X 10 1/4 for the decking for the docks. The hemlock lasts longer in the water
Very interesting, these are being used to cross a seasonal wet area that doesn’t see much for standing water but would otherwise be mucky and hard to cross. Appreciate you watching be well!
Large David must've gotten the pizza with the hot pepper on it because he was READY to GO! Good skids setup. I have busted it several times bouncing over the logs sideways. Thanks Rob and Blessings 2 Yall! Good looking timbers. Make good draglne mats.
He sure was fired up that day!

I LIKED that! NICE sawmill boards and been there when the 'Big Help' went flat down. If the handle don't break and you lack just a bit, you can always get back up. Happy Thanksgiving! Ours is tomorrow because the Grans have quit wheezing and started running! God Bless Yall!
I like that you understand how that works! And Happy Thanksgiving to you as well!
@@troytreeguy Iwas raisedup on the old Frick mill down the road and on the paking end UNTIL there was a big round one to turn. Then I was on a hook and trying to do the deal. Did that every evening after school till dark-30. Atea lot of sawdust!

Blessings on your Thanksgiving as well!
An accident waiting to happen but the sawdust I made went to firewood and heating the house. The heater left this evening and we're goung back to gas logs because we're too geezerish to wear the wood out any more BUT I like to see sawmill boards being cut. Sawdust is optional. Happy Tanksgiving Yall!
Happy Thanksgiving Lewie!
@@troytreeguy Yall too, Pal(s)!
Hello from England. I was just watching the first video from the series where you visited your friend Paul in Alaska. It's one of the few videos I return to for tree work inspiration. Just the way that he climbs and cuts the tree in that video is awesome. Just wanted to come to your latest video and say that... And also ask if you are thinking of putting any more tree work related videos on TH-cam again? Cheers and I hope you're well, Matty
I’m focused on the sawmill for the channel and doing tree work for my daily graft there may be some content in the future.
@troytreeguy No worries. I enjoy watching the sawmill work too. I would love one of those things, but maybe I'm not enough of a mechanic to be able to keep something like that running. Cheers!
