    I remember having a broken toe. My dr told me either sit on a stool at the register or don't go to work. Store manager told me I couldn't sit. Soon as I said I'm going to have to go home, he changed up really quick.

    it is a very american thing to do something about standing looks more professional and entitled customers like it better so it keeps them less bitchy, sadly it has now been seen as the standard for professional behaviour so bosses with a hard on for image enforce standing even if it means the employee is standing in one spot for 8+ hours.

    I honestly would love to speak with a Karen and get into their mindset and belief system. Like what could possibly lead anyone to believe that they somehow have authority to tell anybody else what to do or how to do it. I have worked in positions where I have had so much control over others lives. Probation/Parole officer. Yet, I never once acted disrespectful towards anyone. I also never told anyone what they have to do. I would explain what is asked of them, I also offered to assist them in anyway I could to help them complete any requirements the judge ordered. However, I to Aunt treated them exactly the same way I talked to treated my boss. I always say yes once we got out this door, ring are all complete equals. I don’t get to butt in front of you in line at a store or tell you to sit in a movie theater. This is my child. This is not who I am. You as this person and me as a person are no differentt.

      You know, there are stationary positions that are very much necessary... We don't even know what this business is. Could be a cellular store and that employee is supposed to be keeping an eye out for potential shoplifters (aka loss prevention). They won't just ignore a customer if they ask a question, but they also aren't supposed to leave their station. Receptionists in large office buildings also are often told to not leave the front desk area unmanned. There are numerous jobs that would require an employee stay at their station 🙄 Just because you don't know what every person's exact job is doesn't mean you should judge a whole business on a 1 minute clip.

What would be a better example is a clerk or as you said a receptionists but that is not the setting. I did Customer service, Our mangers never had our backs for following policy. such as no returns without recipte or tags, has to be un use etc. A gal just setting there with no explanation as to what the job is just comes off as spoiled wishful thinking. What is she even doing? What is the point of someone just sitting there.

    While working at subway which was inside of a gas station iv experienced customers getting mad at me for eating like how dare I eat too instead of just feeding the customers and not eating until i get home from a 8 hour shift AND THE CRAZY THING WAS WE WERE ALREADY CLOSED I WAS EATING ON THE HOUR THEY GIVE ME TO CLOSE THE STORE like for example we stopped serving at 8 but I have till 9 to clean and close the store so i was eating at 830 30 minutes after we stopped serving customer😭😭😭 so rude to me for eating while subway wasn't even open anymore 😭😭😭😭

    Somebody needs to work on matching the setting to the dialogue. This one, they appear to be in a restaurant but they should be in a store. I watched another that was supposed to be a restaurant at closing but the person was at a desk like they were in an office setting.

    I remember one of my associates had a broken leg so yhey put him on registers. A customer came over and demanded he follow her to an aisle to get something for her. He said hes not able to walk let alone to reach for something but hed be happy tp call for someone. Customet tot upset because they specifically wanted a male to help and she could only find females over there -.-

      I worked at jewel osco for a while and so many customers wanted a male employee to help with getting items and carrying them. My Manger even preferred the males to help, we had male employees but they usually worked in the back only coming out to stock

    Im confused. What does the manager mean by “I need her to sit there and “man” the store”? I dont agree with the customer saying “She needs to stand when addressing me respectfully.” No they dont. But what is the purpose of the employee just sitting there? What store was this at? A grocery store? A clothing store? Walmart or a boutique? Im asking because a lot of these stupid customer complaints could be avoided if a store is run properly to begin with. Poor structure and management almost always leads to pissed off customers and employees having to deal with stupid managers and store owners.

      The manager does not have to explain to the customer why that associate was instructed to be seated. It could have been for a medical reason, which does not have to be disclosed to anyone.
