Goofy trick with puppy Daisy just for fun!
We did this again, as she was nervous when I would reach for her to swap her leash when she first came, so along with the leash routine I wanted to help change how she felt about my hands. So I taught her the fun trick of booping her nose on my palm when it was reached out in front of her.
Now she loves booping with her nose, she uses it often! 🤣

Sits and downs with puppy Daisy
มุมมอง 8214 วันที่ผ่านมา
We worked on our sits and downs through her stay; in the yard while playing, all the different rooms in the house, different times of day… truth be told we mostly did it while playing as that is what we both preferred! She loves working for her kibble, treats, praise or toys. You gotta love that!
Super easy recall games for puppy Daisy
มุมมอง 7914 วันที่ผ่านมา
Daisy was a bit unsure about coming to me when when I called when she first came and so we started playing some easy games that we built up into a recall. These are just the games we started so we could change how she felt when I would call her name, I wanted buy in!
Puppy Daisy leash routine
มุมมอง 16614 วันที่ผ่านมา
First time I went to swap leashes on Daisy in my house, she peed, which was understandable as she was a bit unsure of a new place an I overwhelmed her at that moment. That’s on me. So we created a routine where I let her know I was going to get her leash with a verbal queue before I reached in. Now she will sit when I go to put on, take off or swap her leash. We both prefer this to being overwh...

Thor figuring out how interact with the dogs
มุมมอง 654 หลายเดือนก่อน
Thor is figuring out how to interact with the dogs versus chase/bark/charge the back end of the dogs. This could be similar behavior you see in the office towards people. He interacts well and as he is interacting his energy/excitement starts to increase and this is where we want to keep an eye on things so they don’t boil over. I do get a clip where he goes over the line a bit and it is easily...
Sneaking training in during social time
มุมมอง 244 หลายเดือนก่อน
Thor is kicking it up a notch by working around all the dogs. He prefers to give a wife birth to other dogs, he small and does not want to be stepped on or whacked with a tail (my shepherds tail has knocked him over). We work on place, recall, sits and down. He did great for his first pack down. Chloe struggles a bit so I help her. We do this sporadically through out the daycare day so he gets ...
Working with Thor outside and moving distractions
มุมมอง 164 หลายเดือนก่อน
This video has a good example of how to help Thor when he is struggling with a command. While we have done place work and recalls outside, we have not done much work on stationary positions, especially on concrete. Working with many small dogs this is notoriously an area they struggle with so I spend much more time building up strong sits and downs in lots of different places before we work on ...
An interesting video to see the dogs motivation to work with play versus food
มุมมอง 484 หลายเดือนก่อน
Having work with Thor for a couple of weeks now it’s been very interesting to see his progression with Food. He came to me with little to no interest for food and certainly would not work for it. Well, I don’t need dogs to work for their food, I do prefer to have dogs that willing to take food in training one reason being is it can be easier to use food as a lure to get positions or locations....
Working on building Nalas tolerance for being outside alone
มุมมอง 134 หลายเดือนก่อน
There’s times where Nala will be in her yard at home and when left alone she begins to bark and or paw at the door. This is one exercise I will do to start to built a dogs tolerance of being alone in the yard alone. I am supervising her but I am not with her.
A lesson with Thor incorporating some scent games
มุมมอง 334 หลายเดือนก่อน
One of the things I like to do to help boost confidence in dogs is challenge them. Thor was a bit intimidated by novel objects when he first came to my home, and had no food drive, certainly no hunt drive, at least he wasn’t showing it yet! This is his entire lesson for dinner tonight. We worked on some basic obedience; sit, down, com, place, starting to get some stay with distractions and we p...

Just get William Kohler's book on basic obedience and fallow it. I have stopped very large dogs from pulling in just a few minutes with his methods. In ten minutes I have let peoples kids walk a dog with out him pulling. And the best part is it's all the dogs own idea to not pull. Mr. Kohler trained dogs for military, police and even Disney. If you have seen "It's a Dogs Life" he trained the dogs for that movie.

I know this is an old video but if there is anyone still watching. A good idea is to paracord wrap the end with the clip so there is extra safety of the clip getting pulled out

Wow you yanks have all the animal rights of a third world nation, you tried that collar in the UK then you would be arrested and face two years in prison. But what do i know im only from FROM and LIVE in England/UK you know where the dog's breed comes from and grew up with these literally all my life! One last thing,,,,,,,,,,,, why are you friendly fire yanks so afraid of using the world ENGLISH in the full dog breed's name?> You Yanks with your shock collars, puppy mills, debarking dogs and declawing cats etc you ought to be a ashamed of yourselves, a THIRD WORLD morality in a so-called first world nation.

I would give anything for my Bully to walk ahead of me. He literally refuses to walk anywhere except into PetSmart. When we go to leave, he sits down or lays down on his side. He literally refuses to walk back to the truck. He started doing it on our street when we'd go for a walk and figured maybe something spooked him or he's just being overloaded with input from smells and sounds etc. . but his tail isn't tucked. I really believe he's just stubborn and doesn't want to walk just for the sake of walking, especially after him walking into PetSmart (which we frequent for training) but refusing to walk out. Will this prong collar work in reverse? That is will it coax him to walk when I put just a slight bit of pressure on it? I've tried, easy-walk harness, regular harness, slip lead, martingale and I end up holding slight pressure on it hoping he'll start moving again, but it's frustrating never-ending process. Oh, and treats only work as far as the leash is long. He's gonna way 90# if I have to treat him around the block.

Ok, im REALLY not trying to be a jerk about this, but sometimes the truth can be hard to hear... This is why you dont buy a dog solely based on their looks.while lots of people buy them for their unique appearance, and their gigantic personality, without getting to know either the breed as a whole, what it generally means to be a bull terrier owner, or the individual needs of your dog. They are just " too much dog" for 99% of " dog owners" out there. They are differnt than other breeds. They are not like labs, sheepdogs, or poodles. Even a " mellow" bull terrier makes the wildest pitbull seem " easy" .To directly answer your question, you need to learn how to handle your dog. Plain and simple. It sounds like most of the work is on the handlers side. If there is not a rescue in your area that SPECIFICALLY deals with bull terriers, the best advice is to find a one on one obedience trainet that is at MINIMUM familliar with them, and invest a lot of time learning what the dog needs from you. Youre not going to find a " miracle trick" to remedy this situation. DEFFINATLY not in a short youtube video. If you cant commit to what you need to do, it might just be time to admit that this breed is beyond your ability to own, and if you are this frustrated with the situation, the dog is as well... Probably more so.

@@crvenazvezdars tough call, but it CAN matter. Is the dog from a reputable breeder. One that cares about the animal more than how much they can charge for pups? Or just somebody that wants to make money, pumping out puppies and not giving a crap about anything as long as the check clears? Or is it from a rescue, where they ( should ) identify these issues and work with fosters to mitigate them, and help new owners as much as they can? Or, and this is sadly the most likely; is it just someone that likes the way they look, and wants to buy one, only to have to give the dog up due to their lack of education on what it takes to be a bull terrier owner & How to deal with their big personalities. Ive been working with the exclusively bull terrier rescue here in AZ for well over 10 years and ive seen just about every type of new owner. From the little old lady that wants a target dog( because thats her favorite store! ... Uggh) to people that think they are good " fighting dogs" and peoole that want to feed them pot brownies like they did in the movie friday. But the one thing ive seen the most is people that want a fashion accessory to show off with that dont know what they are getting into. And what comes in the least; as sad as it is is a person that genuinely loves the breed, knows what it takes to keep them, and keep them happy and well behaved( that last one is relative, but non destructive, and non agressive to people or other dogs is generally accepted as a good bull terrier). If i had to guess, id think they just want some info on where to acquire one. Which is a good sign if they cant. That means they live in a place that has a bull terrier rescue that keeps them out of other rescues, and the pound, so someone that knows the breed can help get it into a good home.
