    So simple. It is always the simple solutions which evade me. I have my grandfather's old rocking chair, from the 1940s, which I need t disassemble and repair. This is the simple way. Thank you. 😁🖖✌

    I completed my reupholster of my wife's grandmother's rocking chair. Your video helped me very much. I enclosed the back of the chair with a fabric panel. Your tips made it much easier to understand the process. Curvy tack strip is the ONLY way to go to give a professional look to the project. I totally understand the need to place a staple into each gripper. I missed a few and figured it would be no problem. WRONG: The ones without a hold down staple lifted and caused a problem. I undid a bit of fabric in secured the missed holes with a staple. The trimming of the fabric is essential for the finished look. I especially like the tensioning of the fabric when the grip strip is compressed in place. Thanks for helping to make my first upholstery project something I am proud of.

    I used two block magnets, stuck them together to get the alignment.. separated them as I placed one on each side of the hammer left them over night because it was convenient. There was some improvement after just a few minutes, but didn't need to tack anything right then. Even thinking I might epoxy a small rare earth magnet into the split.. decided to epoxy the rare earth magnet to the end, over the split... it works great. I did the method in the video, and since I can't know which is north/south.. between the hammer and the stack of magnets... it totally de-magnetized the tips... I had bought 2 cheap tack hammers for figure out how to make one work well. Completely happy with the epoxy method.

    • @TheMrchuck2000
      @TheMrchuck2000 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The problem with your method is this: rare-earth magnets are made of nickel-played neodymium, which is extremely brittle and, with very little force, can shatter. You’ve been lucky, but with only a little use, I’m sure your magnet has already shattered. This can be very dangerous; always wear eye protection.

    • @molliesmakecreate8897
      @molliesmakecreate8897 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You need to try and aim the staples correctly, so it doesn't hit the metal. Aim one side of the staple (pronge) in the hole and the other prong between the gap.

    Hi great video very helpful. But if I wanted to attach a gimp braid to a cushion going accross the centre would I stitch it in place or would glue using the correct glue gun be ok. If its stitched you will see the stitching but will gule be enough to hold the braid accross the frontt centre of a cushion. Thanks
