The Coming Rapture | Spiritual Christianity Podcast #60
Host: J.F. Morin
The rapture (snatching away to heaven) is coming. Who will be ready? In a time when the whole world (including Christendom) is deceived by the Devil, will we seek the Lord and wash our robes in the Blood of the Lamb now, by choice; or will we delay this until the Great Tribulation compels us to, if at all?

But to all who did receive Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God-children born not of blood, nor of the desire or will of man, but born of God. A man is not a Jew because he is one outwardly, nor is circumcision only outward and physical. No, a man is a Jew because he is one inwardly, and circumcision is a matter of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the written code. Such a man’s praise does not come from men, but from God. Romans 2:28,29 It is not as though God’s word has failed. For not all who are descended from Israel are Israel. Nor because they are Abraham’s descendants are they all his children. On the contrary, “Through Isaac your offspring will be reckoned.” So it is not the children of the flesh who are God’s children, but it is the children of the promise who are regarded as offspring. Btw, upon further investigation about what Jesus cried on the cross, I found this, “It is curious that Matthew transliterated this into the Greek as the Hebrew Eli and Mark transliterated this as Aramaic Eloi. Lama is Hebrew, Lema is Aramaic and is shown as that in both Gospels in the Greek, but translators will render it as lama (Hebrew) for whatever reason. Secondly, why did they transliterate (make a word sound the same in another language) into Greek at all, why not just write out in Greek my God my God why hast thou forsaken me? As for the word Sabachthani well, we are not sure, it appears to be from the Aramaic word sbq which means to forsake or abandon for a purpose. The Aramaic word for just simply to abandon to forsake because it is unwanted is taatani. However, it can be argued that the root word is really shwaq which means to be kept, spared or allowed or to fulfill an end. If Jesus had really meant that God had abandoned Him or forgot Him He would have used the word taatani (forsake) or nashatani (forget). Thoughts, anyone?

      Being the savior of someone, does not mean they are saved. It only means the gift of salvation is available to anyone who will accept it. So the unbeliever is offered salvation and in that understanding, Jesus is their savior. It is up to them if they accept Him or not. But those who do believe, He is that much more of a savior to us. But to think that someone who does not believe will be saved? That directly contradicts John 3:18.

      Hey William. Unfortunately one needs to be able to read Hebrew to get the meaning. In Genesis 22 there is a ram caught in the "thicket". In Hebrew this is "basvach"...or "in sevach" Now, the word for thicket is "sevach". In modern Hebrew this also means an entanglement. The word "sabach" as in "sabachthani" is the verb form of thicket. It means to entangle. And this is why Jesus wore the crown of thorns...to represent the entanglement of the ram that was sacrificed by Abraham...but now as God's own sacrifice. Eli Eli lamah sabachthani....My God My God why have You entangled Me? In Ps. 22 it says Eli Eli lamah azavthani....or My God My God why have You abandoned Me? But this is not what Jesus said...God in His wisdom has fulfilled two verses at the same time.

    John MacArthur was once a great teacher but for many years he has done more damage to the church by criticizing other believers by making making minor theological differences into major ones. He has forgotten Jesus prayer that the disciples be one, as we (the Father and him) are one. John and his followers can no longer call themselves evangelicals. Evangelicals major on the majors not major on the minors. That is Evangelicals history and how we were founded, bringing unity between many denominations.

      Hi Mark. Agree with your assessment of damaging other forms of the faith for no purpose but for self-aggrandizement. I disagree with you about Evangelicals majoring on major issues, however. The whole purpose of my channel and my ministry is to warn modern believers of the shallow apprehension of the gospel...even ANOTHER gospel...that does nothing to overcome sin and the world. Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil, not placate religious seekers into thinking they're saved. Selfishness in society has infiltrated the church to such an extent that the gospel id now unrecognizable...a gospel of holiness and power over sin by walking in resurrection life. Also, the basic standard of humility and fear of the Lord has been done away with in order to promote "assurance" of salvation. There is no longer any high calling or spiritual race being taught or promoted. Hence my warnings. Peace.

    Interesting, and agree with much of your perspective . However I see salvation as rescue , giving freedom to follow Jesus the Messiah by the disarming the Powers of the “God of this world”. Holiness is living the life of Heaven on earth . “Thy will be done on earth as in Heaven”. It’s living in the Kingdom now inaugurated , being saved , becoming more like Him , empowered by the Spirit for mission until The Messiah presents renewed creation and renewed humans to the Father . THEN we will be transformed with the same power with which Jesus was raised . Bottom line for me , knowing my weaknesses is that neither righteousness or holiness has been imputed . I only know that I must reflect as best I can and with great effort , the life of God into the world (justice etc) and worship to Him as a result of doing what He has planned for me to do . God help me .

    Penal substitution is the heart of the gospel dude, Romans 3:21-27. God reckons or imputes righteousness as well as imparts it see Romans 6. For a reformed refutation of Wright see Van Hoozers video on union with Christ. Wrights a johnny one note about not going to heaven, but heaven and earth becoming one, that won’t happen until the eschaton in the meantime to be absent from body is to be present with the Lord, plus see the saints in Revelation gathered around the throne. If that isn’t enough Wright praises Bultmann, who rejected miracles and resurrection, Wright believes in Evolution watch his dopey video playing and singing a song about it with Frances Collins the government Covid Czar with Fauci. You are weak on your exegesis and following a false teacher. You need to be able to do more than read a book and exfoliate error. Bone up on your hermenetics, exegetical theology,ancient history and greek and ability to do exposition, and you’ll change your tune on Wright. By the way the old Anglican confession was reformed in theology. The Anglican church just kicked out a young preacher for denying LGTBQ why is Wright still in it ?

      I think you need to look to God. I am championing neither Wright nor Mac Arthur. I'm simply trying to agree as much as possible with errant understandings...and you are included in that. Penal substitution makes a mockery of the gospel. Until you realize that you have nothing to say, and everything to learn.

    I agree! There had to be more to Christianity than I’ve been taught; I no longer conflate righteousness with holiness.

    Can humans be deified? Can we become gods? Or, is the Christian walk about being perfected into Christ in His humanity?

    Much of this resonates within me. I see it as a confirmation of things I sense. I cringe when I hear the gospel preached and they say "you need to accept Jesus" as if we are the determining factor. I fear the day of Judgement and sincerely hope that He accepts me. I would really like to hear a detailed teaching on the 3 fates of the saved. Thanks!

      I pray you will! God is real and His kingdom realm is in an eternal place where we can be found in Him IF we are permitted to be there...by translation. This is a miracle of course. Jesus said that few would be able to find the narrow gate. But if we can't attain to that level of walk we can at least remain humble and inherit eternal life in the nations. God hates when people work by pride and presumptions...considering themselves to be something greater than they are.

    This episode is a follow-up to "Harmful Doctrines Part 1" whereby we continue to examine certain words that are being presently misunderstood by many, as well as other doctrines that are based on an incomplete understanding of God's ways.

    A static doctrinal position can hide a multitude of different motivations...both good and bad. Not everyone who holds to a static doctrine that is wrong is a bad person. And the opposite is also true. My point is that sound doctrine is based on a dynamic obedience that is in agreement with God's purpose and design...by the Spirit. In that case those who actively promote wrong doctrines in a dynamic way are indeed false teachers leading others astray. But a mere doctrinal agreement which is based on beliefs apart from faith can be innocuous.

    I remember one time when a fellow worker invited me to take a ride home in his car. He sat in the car, and put the car in reverse while looking out the back window. We waited for the car to move. It didn't. The thing is that he hadn't yet started the engine. That's like what doctrinal salvation looks like. A pantomime. Beliefs are not faith.

  • @Elohimists

    Wow. So we don't need head knowledge to be converted. Then we don't need Bibles. Just believe. Just have faith. Believe what? Have faith in what? It looks like you don't know that the Gospel is a doctrine. It's not Matthew Mark Luke and John.

    • @JohnFMorin
      @JohnFMorin 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Jesus is not a doctrine or concept...but a Person. What doctrine do you use to have a friendship with a fellow human? Your argument is self-defeating. It's not just have faith. It's about repentance towards God. The gospel is a declaration of freedom from the bondage of sin and the temporal world..INTO an eternal life that is connected with God. A head belief about this does not convert the soul. A new heart...a new creation is needed. AFTER that has happened one can then proceed into doctrine. No doctrine can save a person's heart. But a doctrine can fool someone into thinking that they are now righteous because they have believed a religious proposition ...that has no power. The kingdom of God is NOT in word (doctrine) but in power.

    • @Elohimists
      @Elohimists 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @JohnFMorin This is your doctrine. Without it we would not know about what you just described. Without the knowledge we would not know what or who to believe. Doctrine is the explanation of a topic. Faith comes from hearing. The doctrine of repentance is an explanation of repentance...

    • @Elohimists
      @Elohimists 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      "When this happens" is not a doctrine. I truly believe that faith alone is not enough. It is a false doctrine. Faith only justifies but we still need a doctrine of faith. What are we supposed to believe? The gospel. How do we get saved? Prayer. These are all doctrines. The explanation of each topic.

    • @JohnFMorin
      @JohnFMorin 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Elohimists The doctrine of repentance doesn't give a person the power of repentance. Beliefs about Jesus is not the faith of Christ. Knowing about a person and meeting them is not the same.

    • @JohnFMorin

      @@Elohimists Can you see that believing a doctrine has no power to save? Only Gnostics believe in saving knowledge. Knowing ABOUT something doesn't save you. Putting something into practice does.
