Came out awesome as a wall hanger! Unfortunately not a useful tool, the hammer is imbalanced needs an additional 2Cm. of steel added to the face, and the brass plate addition to the handle will fly off if used vigorously for some time, there is no glue that will withstand the vibration. Looks good though! Additionally when filing stroke in one direction only, pulling back your file with pressure only dulls the file.

That is NOT a properly set handle. If it were to be used as a serious tool, it could be dangerous. I'd rate the whole project a C-

That's a pretty paperweight you've made there. Restoration would imply that you could put the tool back to work. Your "wedge" isn't wedging anything. The grain run out, while pretty, will cause the handle to fail under any rigorous use. It would be a race to see if the hammer head flew off or the handle broke first.

That’s terrible. The sharp edges make the hammer useless for what it was designed for, forging, the figment of the handle is awful, the handle isn’t even straight on the head. It’s very shiny though, so if that’s what you care about………

I wonder why tf would anyone polish hammers faces to mirror. It makes no sense to me. They sure look nice, but will be beaten while using it. Nice hammer tho.

I much prefer restoration videos like this where the item is actually “restored” and not modified, made cooler, or completely repurposed from it’s origin.

The angles aren't symmetrical and the head sits on the handle crooked... also why didn't you chemically remove the rust before angle grinding?
