So here's the story... Before I was working as a clinical psychologist. I suddenly began having experiences that are far beyond the understanding of current western psychology - like feeling energy and hearing spirits. 👻 I immediately knew I was not "crazy" but that meant something even stranger... clinical psychology had got a lot wrong. Not having answers for myself about what happened to me I decided to leave my life and set out to find some answers. Breezing over some juicy details, I now am initiated as a shaman in Mongolia, where I stay part time.
I've now moved over 300 times in the past decade. Truly without a home or bed of my own, and yet somehow now home being much more than I ever knew before. This channel is to give you a view into my life as I travel across the world and the realms.

    Yes, I'm late to the party but better late than never. Congrats on the movie! Also, this was really comforting to my soul. I appreciate your honesty about things, and your respect for what needs to be secret and what can be shared. And so much yes to spiritually transmitted disease! I know you are looking at it through soecific soirit goggles but dang if spiritual trauma falls flat as a meaning some times for what some us have experienced, regardless of the spiritual path.

    I am feeling very called to Mongolia lately, and I follow these nudges. I have been a 'self' taught shaman/healer for many years, meaning that my guides who are not in the human form have trained me. I feel some of my guides are Mongolian and or I have spent a past life there. I am feeling called to explore by traveling there. I am wondering if you lead individuals to meet shamans there in Mongolia or if you recommend a trust worthy guide. Thank you so much for sharing your story.

    I am amazed how candidly Indigenous Mongols speak about Shamanism, in Canada's Plains Cree Culture it is taboo to discuss Spirituality, or Deities to outsiders, and of course they all refuse to disclose to Caucasian Tribes. However, we believe that Siberia does have bonafide Shamans. This is the point here, real or voices or are the voices coming from the Human. And hearing such Power is beyond the Mindsets to understand how true Spiritualism without ever seeing actual deities like the Sun Speak to a Community. Among our Plains Tribes the Cree people who have real connection with Shamans and the Spiritual World, this relationship is still real and not even the simplest rituals are ever Recorded. The last thing is Survival, what we are seeing is the chosen people can be Lawyers, Doctors, Teachers, etc.

I think for a long time I have looked to be legitimized by one thing or another, but the deeper I go into my heart and practice, it is almost the exact opposite. The toes example is great because I don't have to prove that I have them, I'm experiencing them right now. Same with spirits, ancestors and the like. Another grear share, thank you!

    Hello Francis, I tried reaching out on Instagram, but it only let me say "Hello Francis" before cutting me off because we’re not following each other. I really wanted to connect because your videos has had such a profound impact on me. My spiritual awakening started about five years ago through holotropic breathwork, and ever since, I’ve been on this journey of self-healing and discovery. I always see myself as a student, constantly learning and seeking guidance. Recently, I asked for some divine direction, and not long after, I came across your incredible videos on Shamanism in Mongolia. It felt like exactly what I needed. This path can get lonely at times, but I’ve been lucky to meet some amazing mentors along the way. I’ve always felt a strong pull toward the Himalayas, Eastern Russia/Mongolia, and the Americas, and have been trying to connect with spiritual teachers in these regions for years. But so far, all I’ve found are documentaries and research papers-not the real, personal connections I’m looking for. What drew me to your work is that it doesn’t feel like it’s coming from the outside looking in; it feels like it’s coming from the inside out. You’re on a journey too, and that really resonates. I know this is out of the blue, but I would be grateful to connect over email. I’m just looking for some camaraderie, guidance, and kindness on this path, and I’d really appreciate your time. Thanks for considering it. You can also find me on Instagram at @mohamedparham. Mo

    When you talked about being guided to not read, it made me realize something. I have been guided to not use plant medicine. Not that I can't but it isn't just part of my path. And while I have never used them, I have still had every experience people have talked about when they relay their transcendant experiences. Like a few months ago, after a session, I truly understood that we are all eternal beings having an experience in time, and that we are all connected in a way that there is no separation. It lasted for hours and then sort of drifted away. I still understand that to be true, but not in that deep certainly that so many people report after taking plant medicine.

I'm kind of a bad ass at it. lol.😂😂😂 Thanks so much for this, Frances!

    Just got to finish listening to this video - thank you. Validation for not using objects and props to do the work. I have upset/confused/made people doubt my ability to work in the dimensions before because I don't use clothing, crystals, cards, or very many items at all. My reasoning was the same as yours: these tangible objects are neat, but not necessary. Spirit exists regardless. No rock nor cell phone can make a difference. I used to wish I was a more "spiritually-looking" person, with robes and crystals and very spritual-sounding speech patterns. I used to think I had to signal to the outside world that I am a thing. But a) I don't like being viewed as "different" (I don't feel that different) and b) it wouldn't feel authentic if I did that. Other people get more attention around here, but that is okay with me too. Usually. Sometimes my ego throws fits but that is when I have more work to do. 😆💜🤍

    • @dropout.psychologist
      @dropout.psychologist 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Nah.... materials objects are real and valid. And we don't need any of them. "Spirit exists regardless." Exactly. I feel all of this about the path of wanting more external markers. For me it was a good clearing I personally needed, of being dismissive of the wisdom that is held in people who kind of look more like me. It took me many years to get over. Now these days I enjoy the extra layer of cosmic humor to be a wizard hidden so plainly among others in the grocery store. :). There are times I am wearing a lot of gear when I am doing more traditional forms of work. But day to day I'm cool just being what this being is.

      @@dropout.psychologist it seems different somehow when it's clothing from a long past with history behind the garments and objects. But when it's just me wanting to put stuff on for no reason except showing myself to others, that's when it feels hollow. I realized I was doing the spiritual version of virtue signaling just to walk down the street and get a coffee 😂 not even having fun with it, just trying to "show the world" I'm different. @@aramiebloom7257 I did that season also. It's almost like a modern day rite of passage for us wizards! 🥶 For me, I realize I was also doing it to find community and friends. There is nothing that I could wear externally to help call them in. But I needed to go through that.

      Steady is SUCH an interesting concept isn't it? That steady is not rigidity, as well. So much to it. Such great stories. Thank you for always sharing with us. Always a connection to whatever may be going on in my life at the moment. Life continues to throw streams, rocks and mud in my way. And of course my “car” at some point is going to get stuck along the way. That’s life. That’s all part of this human existence (I think LOL). But I have to wonder if sometimes stopping to notice the butterfly that just emerged from his cocoon, or the feather laying right in your path, are the gifts spirit give us. If we notice the quiet signs, the beauty and wonder around us, and remember this time is for learning, things might get a little easier? Or not. And LOL there once again are the amazing and special AHA’s for me!! “There is no consistency in shamanism” - Love this so much! For me, there is no real consistency in life. It’s an ebb and flow. Well I almost can't explain it myself how my life works. But so long as I follow the guidance of my Sky Team, it all works - often just barely. It's true I don't have much money. My spirits told me for a long time I am not allowed to have a home, but they will work it out with traveling. And they have. My sister is a pilot so I can fly free on her airline stand by. People donate airline miles to me. Occasionally I pay for a flight. And consider that I don't have rent (no home, no rent), I don't have bills (not even a cell phone bill), no children. I don't buy new things very often. Probably over half the money I do get still goes to travel, and paying for things like extra online storage, editing software, podcast hosting. So a lot of my money goes to food and the occasional dinner out. But overall I don't have expenses the way most people do these days.

      I see each shaman as on a unique assignment from the Higher Realms larger view of how to get things going in the right direction. From the Higher Realms view, they know just what is needed on a larger collective level. From my experiences, the vast majority of shamans do this as part of their life but it's not a full time job. It's not even part time. They do rituals and healings as needed for family, or maybe a small community. When a child falls and hits their head, they know where to go. And that shaman is ready to help no matter what they were doing at the time. Then occasionally there are people like me, and two others shamans I know. We are beyond full time. It seems we signed up for this path long before I remember being born. Sometimes I think of us as kind of on special assignment. It's less common to be so busy but we are needed also, in smaller numbers, from the view of the Higher Realms to make their plan unfold as they wish.

    I just come across yr channel. I have been trained in the past on the border between what can be called Chinese shamanism and daoism. Yr channel is great. There is in Chinese folk religion (as it is called) a history of jerk spirits too, like the god Wenchang, who in fact was a demon wanting to do good. In Chinese culture the word for God, Demon and Spirits is fluid.

      Thanks for your comment. I appreciate it. What you share feels like home. A difference in methods between demons and guides is often not what distinguishes them. ;)

    All of my best on your film, ceremony and travel yet to come. I dig cool dark rain and snowy, too, I grew up in it but reside 180° opposite of that now. Wanting what I can’t get immediately r/t current limitations. What I wouldn’t give to return to that soon. I want to say so much more about protection. Just not now, wishing you safety and all of the happiness.

    I'm grateful for your TH-cam channel. I'm so glad it was YOU that dispelled my inner "white girl shaman" stereotype. I knew you were the real deal when my feet stopped wiggling uncontrollably. 😂 and the last minute of this video were crazy (to me), because numerous times throughout I was thinking, "it's like she's speaking to ME" like the two of us are just having a chat. Your amazing energy is infectious & I love it. ✨

      Hi Rochelle. Thank you so much for your comment! Mongolia is - as usual late into my stay - absolutely running me beyond what I thought I was capable of doing in such a short period of time. It's just wild here. Today is the only day I see a short window to try and make another video to bring y'all up to date with these adventures. Still not sure I can get myself off of my couch to film - but your comment reminds me there are people watching and it is for others that I do this. And dang do I have some stories to share with everyone! Okay, I'm gonna try. If you see a video posted in the next few days, in some way, you helped make it happen. And if you don't, you know I took some rest. 🥰

    I love that with every episode of yours I watch on here, I'm able to view the world and consider it from a new perspective. I really appreciate that about your journey and all you're sharing. The way you're able to articulate what you're seeing and experiencing... I feel like it's acting as a bridge from these colonized spaces in many ways, especially hearing about your upbringing and life prior. It's a wild and really special piece of your story. Seeing that a year has passed from when you made this video, I hope it's not something you've come to regret. Do you feel like the negative has outweighed the positive? & a personal response (or data point!) to one of your questions, I feel like I was, in a sense, silenced growing up and to this day struggle to verbally speak my truth. It's as if there's terrible road construction on the channel between my heart and my head/mouth. It's something I'm always working on -- to both find my voice and at the same time admire the power I still carry in silence. All of that to say, I greatly admire those who can share their truth, such as yourself! Thank you for that.

    those children were adorable and made me laugh and smile so big! that was such an unexpected bonus to the ghost stories. for the stories themselves... "mind blowing" does feel like the only way to describe it. I completely understand if you can't answer any of this here or if it's asking too much of you, but when you said you didn't get a migraine after the mini-exorcisms... is that something that happens often? what is your understanding of migraines (in the chronic sense or not)? also so sweet to put a face to your sister after hearing so much about her! love your relationship with her and makes me miss having mine close by 🤍 thank you, again, for sharing

      Well I had migraines from time to time before I opened a decade ago. There is definitely a relationship for me between my migraines and managing my energy. When I first opened my migraines increased and were out of control experiences. Once I learned to ground my energy and even close a bit sometimes, it helped a lot. I was just opening too fast. Now I still get migraines if I'm not staying on top of energy management. It's just now on the list of my triggers - sunshine, dehydration, exahausion, energy not grounded or too expanded without anchoring myself in the center. When I can feel them coming early AND respect the signs (working on that one) then I can often catch them before they escalate. I need to pull back from all sensory experiences and chill, usually sending energy from the top of my field down and out through the bottom of my feet. This is just me. They still happen from time to time. In fact, just recovering from a kinda not terrible but long lasting one here now.

      @@dropout.psychologist shoot, I hope you were able to get some rest and are feeling better! I can relate and have a similar list of triggers. I'm always curious to hear other people's experiences with them and what they've learned to manage it all. (Mine came on rather quickly 6 or so years ago.) Anyways, thank you for sharing! So how do you know this "dark" vibe is accurate, like there is dark, Picasso skewed, or light vibe

    • @dropout.psychologist
      @dropout.psychologist 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It can certainly appear "dark" to people who are not familiar with the tradition. Because the shaman puts on a full face mask, wearing spectacular attire with snakes and bells and metals attached, and drums very loudly until they fall into a trance. Then their Ongod, a specific type of spirit who works with the shaman, enters their body and speaks through them. Typically the Ongod will speak in a low and gruff voice. So for those who haven't experienced anything like this before it will rattle your bones! But this is shamanism as it really is. The Ongod is the only spirit who enters the shaman, and it's a known spirit by the whole community. Often people even know who this spirit was when they were alive, such as the shaman who died a few years or decades ago, who was in the community. So it's actually a very highly controlled experience. All the clothing and drumming are the rituals that are further supporting the energy. It's ancient tech that works, but it does not look like crystals and rainbows, that's for sure. The energy transmitted in the sitting with a real shaman is very high, and people leave buzzing with a good cleaning.

    Many of our practices of shamanism or common superstitions also came from ancient Zoroastrianism, which we used to practice a long time before Buddhism, Xtianity, and Islam came to our land a thousand years ago.
