      Hi, yes significant improvement we are very happy. They make it to a template from preformed mandrel bends with the use of a jig. This provides no crushing of tube and best flow. Give Luke and the crew a call or drop in and see them they are awesome to deal with.

    My wife is actually from Cobar and I have spent a lot of time up there in the early 70s. Her cousin used to round up the goats in his spare time and sell them. You couldn’t make a living out of them but it’s a good sideline. They are also exported to the Phillipines for human consumption. Nothing wrong with goat meat it tastes better than lamb. Cheers

    I just purchased this exact kit but with the extra heavy load in the rear for my JT w/ Bilstein Steering dampener. plan on installing a steel rear bumper and lone peak camper. My concern is should I have gone with the heavy load instead of extra heavy?

      @filthyoffroadadventures 19 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Depends on what you use the Gladiator for. If you have lots of weight all the time the extra heavy are great options. For us we specifically went the HD with the plan to put in Airbag helpers for when towing. We wanted to keep the nicer ride and characteristics off road when not loaded up. I have driven one with the XHD and they are still really good.

      @rsleeper32 22 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @filthyoffroadadventures Hey, thanks for the reply. That seems like a very capable set up in the XJ. I only purchased my first XJ a few months ago and have been getting it reliable before any modifications. I'm starting to look at what set ups people run in AUS as opposed to in the US. I was only at Swan Gully the weekend just gone and got to give my XJ it's first real test run, surprisingly it went very well considering it's bone stock, i wanted to get it out and see how it goes stock so i know where to start modifications. I've been thinking around the same lines, except I'd like to go a long arm kit, stay around the 3" lift mark, 31x10.5's and a pair of lockers. The trouble seems to be finding where to get anything here. I can get general maitnece stuff through RockAuto but not to sure how to go about getting most other stuff, other than Ebay lol.

    Thanks for a well produced video, and all your time taken to produce it. I am in the process of deciding on a suitable replacement for the BFG KO2s on my Patrol, which like you spends plenty of time in outback Australia towing a hybrid van. However when home in Tasmania, conditions can be much wetter, so a tyre which can handle some sloppy and muddy tracks as well as the hard stony and sandy tracks is what I need. While I really appreciate your efforts, the problem with videos like yours is that they become to some extent “echo chambers” where lots of like minded people basically agree with the video creator, often because they have the same items being discussed, (in this case Maxxis Razr tyres), and unless they have had a particularly bad experience with them, mostly all sing from the same song sheet. The trouble is that very few are able to exhaustively try and test systematically any of the other options, to know how they would have gone in the same situation. I have been happy with my BFG KO2s, and less happy in rough country with Bridgestones because they got some sidewall cuts and one puncture with a tech screw through the sidewall /tread corner which was deemed too risky to repair. Reports on the grapevine however, suggest that BFG ko2s are not as good relatively speaking as they once were, and many long time users are changing to other brands, but I have no way of confirming the truth or otherwise of these opinions. It just seems to me that most people think that what they have now is the best they could hope for, and good comprehensive unbiassed advice is hard to come by.

      Great comment and I agree it is very very hard to find a balanced and untainted review anywhere. Most like mine are based on personal experience and from discussions with other users. Have you considered the new K03? There has been a lot of interesting reviews from around the world but it is early days as they are very new. Looking at the tech they should be a significant step forward from the K02’s especially with wet bitumen grip and edge tread grip. We are currently looking at replacements for and while Maxxis are on the list again and the K03 are also on the short list. What type of hybrid do you have?

    • @Ropetangler
      @Ropetangler หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@filthyoffroadadventures Thanks for the very prompt reply, I was not expecting that! Last question first, the hybrid van is a Track Trailer Topaz 11 (as in series 2). The company has recently gone into receivership sadly. As for the KO3s, a local tyre retailer told me a couple of days ago, that they were unavailable here so I don’t know if that is just a short term shortage, or not available in Australia yet (which is what I thought he meant). As my wife and self are in an older demographic than you, 75 and 80 years later this year, I don’t push things as hard as I once might have, and grip has rarely been an issue except for now with our farm tracks now so slushy that I have needed to winch up a slight slope on grass and another time on bare ground it just slid backwards slowly in the dark, about six metres till it stopped in a gutter. Clearly 4 or 5mm of tread depth is not enough on unmade tracks or bare ground when saturated with persistent rain. Thanks again for your reply and I will have a look through tour other videos, as this one on the Maxxis is the first time I have come across you on YT, and if this is anything to go by I am sure that I will enjoy your other works too. Cheers and happy travels

      @Ropetangler you are more Than welcome we love chatting to people any chance we get and we hope you get something out of our content. The K03’s are on a slow release of sizes and I think they only released about 4 or 5 sizes which hit shops lat week. There are more sizes arriving this month. I only know this as a good friend owns a tyre shop and we have been discussing possibly of trying this on the Jeep this time and the size we run isn’t due until September. When you decide I would love to know which way you go and how you find what ever you go for. As for your van I don’t know that one I will do some research on them 👌 Matt
