I recently got a 35" set for my 2500 duramax have them at 55 psi snow/ice traction is not that great everything else is good so far
Never got to try them on snow sadly. We have just replaced ours with a different brand. If you’re interested here is our final review. Maxxis RAZR AT 811 | Watch Before You Buy | Fulltime Travel th-cam.com/video/VHWPfbJMr4Q/w-d-xo.html
Thanks for sharing. Good to hear from real world experience. The Maxxis were on my short list of 3 for my next tyres, with Ko3’s or Yokohama x-AT’s. You’re got me thinking ! Cheers
Hi thanks for watching and glad it helped. Little spoiler next week we might have a video of interest to you considering one of the tyres you are considering. Thanks again and hope to see you back again. Matt and Leisa.
Your dogs made beautiful models
They are super models and we are constantly fending off international sponsorship deals for them 🤣😂
Hopefully the 6 months goes by quickly and you can be make together
Agree. It should go quickly but we normally do everything together so it’s a big change.
I need to comment and say. I love your wheels!
Yes I agree. Considering never thought we could get them we are very happy. There is more to come on that note in the coming months 🤔
Good review! Can you indicate which country these tyres as sold here in Aus are manufactured?
Thanks. I am sorry I can’t check as have just had the tyres replaced. I think they were supposed to be made in Taiwan. I have also just done a final review on the tyres that definitely might be worth watching.
Not sure if this will work Maxxis RAZR AT 811 | Watch Before You Buy | Fulltime Travel th-cam.com/video/VHWPfbJMr4Q/w-d-xo.html
@@filthyoffroadadventures Yes, it worked. Interesting conclusion. I recently put on a set of Falken AT3 WP’s from factory SUV Geolanders and they are really good. Only a slight bit of hum at 60KmPH of all things, but get above that on open highway no hum. Only been on a national park trail so far. VG on open highway and sure footed on wet bitumen. I certainly would keep Maxxis AT in mind for an LT 10 ply if doing regular rough roads towing.
@@filthyoffroadadventures I believe the headquarters of the company is based in Taiwan but they manufacture in Thailand and China plus other places.
@ think you are right. I did a search but could not definitely say where the Aussie supply comes from. If still had the tyres I could’ve checked them.
Gosh you guys were lucky!! No doubt very disappointing, but part of the adventure right 😊 definitely made the right call to get it fixed.
Agree was the right call. Still can not believe we got not panel damage. Sooo lucky. Hope you guys are well.
Interesting episode. We have them fitted to the RAM and Prado. Definitely showing a lot of wear on t RAM after nearly 60k lm with a 6 tyre rotation, so less than 40k on each. Will be replacing them soon, just trying to work out with what. Very happy with them except for the wear rate. On the Prado they have done about 25k and still looking good but it is a lot lighter and doesn't do any towing.
Hey guys. Yeah I really liked the tyres but they just didn’t stand up to what we expected especially considering the price point they sit at. We have just had new tyres fitted and took them on the trails last weekend. The video will be up next Friday. These could be a very option for the Ram.
@filthyoffroadadventures yes I do like them, but they are expensive for the KMs you get out of them. Will check out next week's video 👍
Lovely Ep and review, Did you pay full price for them tyres thanks, Yes that is poor ks I get around 55,000ks out of Chinese 10 ply ATs in 265/75 x 16s on our 80 series towing our 5m tinny trailer, I pay around $210 a corner fitted . last set got around 35,000ks on them now still got heaps to go, Doing Cape York and Kimberley and the Tanami and plenty, and dirt roads around home,
Yes we did. Got them at a local tyre shop in Springwood.
@@filthyoffroadadventures Nice one Thanks
@craigtomkinson2837 no worries happy to help. I just found the receipt it was a tyre power store.
I purchased a set of these a couple weeks ago. They not responsive on the highways traveling and absolutely suck in the rainy conditions. I am already looking to replace them.
Oh wow that’s terrible. We found for us they had good road manors and their wet weather performance was ok. Bit of a spoiler but we just had the first set of the new 295/70R17 BFG KO3’s in Australia fitted to our Gladiator. We hit the trails last weekend to see how they went and they are definitely an improvement over the Maxxis. We are also in Queensland and this morning had chance to get onto wet roads. Even when trying to encourage slip etc on roundabouts the new KO3’s are significantly better than the Maxxis and light years better than the old KO2’s. What will you do with the Maxxis? Sell them then new tyres?
Love my KO2’s. Love the content.
Hi Jase. Yes the BFG’s are very good and we saw that first hand last weekend hey 👌
Such a pity loved these tyres just wish they lasted longer.
Agree a shame for sure.
I have exactly the same tyres my biggest issue is that they are terrible in the wet on the highway but they are a great tyre for offroad never had a flat and they bag out nicely, I probably wouldn't buy them again at that price point
Interesting experience, I found them ok on wet roads until the end. Definitely agree great off road but think you are right about the price point not being right.
What do you think you will go for next?
@filthyoffroadadventures kenda klevers RT I think, if the Maxxis were a bit more poker friendly I would have stayed with them
@fernandoharo1661 cool would love to hear how they go as have not heard much about them. Always interested to know how different brands perform.
Was not expecting you to say you would not buy them again. 😮
Yeah I liked the tyres from a technical perspective but don’t think they represent value when considering the poor mileage against the price.
They seem to have fallen off a cliff. You seemed so happy earlier on. Thanks for the heads up.
Yea very surprised to be honest. Technically they are a good tyre but for the money they should have lasted at least 30-40% more.
Some very interesting points to bring up guys... At least you have recognized these so you can make adjustments or even re think your strategy. Im on the verge of retirement and cant wait, im totaly over the 9 to 5 crap and how the Gold Coast has become do overcrowded..etc, etc ,etc... longing for wide open space... Enjoy the journey guys. See you out there on the road... Yea!!!!!😊
Wow that’s so cool that you are getting ready too. We definitely agree about leaving the crowds behind, we are sour happiest when off grid and truly remote. Good luck with you preparations.
This is a great episode! Well done. Very thought provoking
Definitely some things to consider. Thanks for watching see you on the next one.
Hi Guys, great episode. Please be kind to yourself when you hit the road. You may be surprised to learn, you do even miss the 9 to 5 at times. Not sure if you know, but I did originally sell everything I owned to get on the road, even the sentimental stuff. It's an amazing experience, it frees you up in a way you may never have felt before. So, yes, they are sacrifices but stepping outside the "norm" leads to great things! Good on you guys and the 6 months apart will fly and then you'll be in the rig and on your way!
Thanks guys appreciate the lovely words. We will be keeping the piano as that is too important to let go but still working oh what that looks like 😂 We did get some good news, the new campers chassis productions starts very soon. Can’t wait to hit the road.
So sad watching you talk about your piano 😢 Wow that’s big that you are heading to Perth on your own. Be safe and hope we see you back on the channel again soon.
Thank you. Yes very sad for Leisa but we know it’s all worth it. We will be finding away to keep the piano safe until we return to a house in who knows when 🤷♂️
Great episode guys ! Definitely feeling some of those topics and had tears for you both ! Your journey will be epic and we know your adventures will be worth every sacrifice! Everyday we look at each other and say how lucky we are to be travelling full-time ! See you on the road 🇦🇺
Thanks guys. You are an inspiration to get out there. We will be out there as soon as possible just maybe slightly different start to what we had planned. But things happen for a reason hey. Hope you are both well look forward to catching up again soon. Matt and Leisa.
How the hell did you not get panel damage that’s crazy.
We still have no idea how it isn’t so more damage. So blessed.
Wow that’s a stunning place.
Agree we loved Adelaide and can’t wait to go back.
So far all the sacrifices are worth it. This new life is going to be epic.
Agree 1000%
Another great episode guys! Glad you got to see your Pelicans Leisa 😊
Thanks guys means a lot coming from you. Yes anytime she sees a pelican is a good day.
Gee your mics do well in the wind, what do you use? Looks like this trip is getting you ready for when you finally hit WA - Windy Always 😂
😂 yeah WA stands for Windy Australia doesn’t it 😂 We mostly use our DJI wireless mic with the little dead cats on them. We also have started putting under our shirts too for an extra layer. DaVinci Resolve also has some great tools to help take out some background noise.
Looks like it is a great trip, can't wait to watch.
Thanks guys appreciate it. Was an incredible trip just wish we had more time. 🤔 I know how to solve that 😉
How is the tire in wet?
Hi there. They are still great on wet bitumen roads and have also found them good in mud. Well good for an AT, like all AT’s they will get to point that they struggle in heavy sticky mud as can only self clean so much. Thanks for watching.
Kiwis would say Super Spedy :)
You guys always have a different take on sayings. Shudder bump comes to mind 😂

Wow. That sky when you got to Coober Pedy at the signs
There really is something amazing about an outback sky.
Did this trip twice back in the mid nineties.. in our first 4wd, a Jackaroo. Coober Pedy is a very interesting place... Stunning road trip..
Yeah it is such a cool place. Next episode is all about Coober Pedy.
Funny story, when Leisa went to write the title for this video she put Cooper Pedy 😂
😂 still says Cooper 😂
Man Adelaide was so good Can’t wait to go back. Might even be back there early next year 🤔
🤫 you might be giving away some secrets.
Wow Hahndorf looks amazing. So excited you are getting back on track now.
You are so right it was incredible and we will definitely be back. Oh and the fudge was epic 😂
I could not see the seal
Sorry definitely the wrong camera for it. I tried to crop in but became terribly pixelated 😢 I was excited to see it just wish I could’ve shared it better.
