David Bowie's FORGOTTEN Early Albums – A Retrospective
David Bowie's first three albums have been heavily forgotten compared to his incredible work that followed. In this video let's take a look back at these albums and ask if they deserve to be forgotten or if they are still Bowie works that should be listened to to this day.

Green Day "Saviors" Is Their Best Album In Years!
Best album??? The United States: (What's the Story) Morning Glory? The United Kingdom (& Republic of Ireland) Definitely Maybe Planet Earth: (What's the Story) Morning Glory? My personal #3 album??? Me: Don't Believe the Truth Don't Believe the Truth led to Oasis's biggest & (easily) most successful world tour... particularly North America, w/sold-out shows @ Madison Square Garden in NYC, The Hollywood Bowl in L.A., Red Rocks Amphitheater (just outside of) Denver & @ the foot of The Rocky Mountains, Credit Union 1 Arena in Chicago, Rogers Arena in Vancouver, The Boston Tweeter Center, The Festival Pier at Penn's Landing in Philadelphia, The Budweiser Stage (Amphitheatre) in Toronto... And then in 2006, they came back to North America & played some much more intimate dates @ some really legendary venues, w/1st among them being The Cathedral of Country Music & former home of The Grand Old Opry aka the absolutely legendary & extremely prestigious Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, The Bayou Music Center in Houston, Dodge Theater in Phoenix & The Taft Theater in Cincinnati, but they also played a big gig in Canada & a big gig in Mexico... playing Scotiabank Arena in Toronto & Palacio de los Deportes - aka Mexico City Sports Palace - in Mexico City, Mexico... Every last gig a sell out.💯
@ 0:43 --- Pretty sure dude is trying to say: "And we got to start with Liam Gallagher's performance..." @ 0:43 --- Dude actually said: "An NaN Wegof Vawstaw Ve Veyam Gaweggah pa fowwmance..."
Dig out Your Soul because less people bought it then any other album!!!
Be Here Now & Don’t Believe The Truth tied and Dig Out Your Soul is back. DEFINITELY MAYBE is the best though
1) Definitely Maybe 2) What's The Story? 3) The Masterplan 4) Don't Believe The Truth 5) Dig Out Your Soul 6) Be Here Now 7) Heathen Chemistry 8) Standing On The Shoulder Of Giants
Haha, I looked up track ratings for this album hoping to hear high praises for Cast No Shadow.
Didn’t get a ticket then?

Do a video on the verve i want them 5o reform befire der all gona at sum point
Bowie stated that I Would Be Your Slave and Better Future are directed at god. In the former, he's asking why life has to be so hard and proclaiming what he'd do if god would make things better. In the latter he's telling god that he won't love them unless things improve for his daughter. I love Sunday and the title track, but I think the album would have more impact if there were fewer songs on it and the order changed. But as he said, he made the music he wanted to make, so that's all that really matters.
'She Shook Me Cold' is an electrifying depiction of a man used to easy sexual pleasure, who finally meets far more than his match, and becomes dangerously addicted to the ecstasy he feels with her.
'Saviour Machine' is a chilling example of Bowie drawing a world dangerously placing its faith in an object without a soul.
'Running Gun Blues' is one of the most frighteningly accurate depictions of the insane atrocities in the abomination that was the Vietnam war. Bowie had, throughout his life, a strong social conscience and a strong desire for social commentary.
'The Man Who Sold the World' is one of Bowie's darkest albums and is artistically brilliant, as is the otherworldly title track this album draws its name from.
'Memory of a Free Festival' perfectly depicts a halcyon day of music, peace and pure bliss.
'An Occasional Dream' feels as if the melody simply floats upon a beautiful cloud in this song of such love and longing.
Many of Bowie's best songs are on these three superb albums.
Yeah 💯 👍👍
'Come and Buy My Toys' delights in the innocent joys of happy childhood. Bowie seems fascinated by the rustic charms of an archaic time.
'We are Hungry Men' paints a terrifying world where overpopulation spawns a myriad of unspeakable horrors. Bowie's imagination is, as always, stark and outlandish.
'Sell Me a Coat' sounds as if written by a child yet possesses enormous depth of emotion for a beautiful summer gone.
'Please Mr Gravedigger' - evocative and deeply disturbing lyrics with a powerful yet simple melody. Masterfully constructed including immersive sounds of doom-laden weather. Sheer brilliance by Bowie.
Yeah an early example of the power of mood that Bowie would go on to use and maybe the first appearance of one of his characters
'Letter to Hermione' is one of the most heart-breaking love songs ever written. Bowie wrote it about his ex-girlfriend, Hermione Farthingale whom he missed so much after their breakup. Poetic and heart-rending.
'When I Live My Dream' captures romance & wonder in a fantasy land. Breathtakingly depicted by Bowie.
These songs are monumental, with 'Love You' Till Tuesday' being one of the best. Thanks for the video. Your enthusiasm for these brilliant tracks is evident.
'Maid of Bond Street' is heartbreaking - the 'girl with everything' who has nothing. One of Bowie's most astounding songs.
'God Knows I'm Good' has a old, and probably impoverished woman hoping God will turn a blind eye to her theft, yet also save her from the consequences. A moving example of Bowie's intensely compassionate nature.
'Cygnet Committee' is a monumental piece exploring brave self-sacrifice in a world of hate and violence. Surpassing even 'Station to Station' in its enormity.
Nice vid! I did like BE but I agree it wasn't a game changer.
Interesting video. Have to give these a listen.
You should! They are all worth it and very intriguing snapshots into a different time
Maid of Bond Street is heartbreaking - the 'girl with everything' who actually has nothing. One of Bowie's most astounding songs.
These songs are monumental, 'Love you 'till Tuesday' being one of the best. Thanks for the video. Your enthusiasm for these brilliant tracks is evident.

The worst Oasis song is better than the best Radiohead, Blur, and Coldplay songs combined 😎
wat are you? british? they suk.
you suk. 🙂
And they weren’t even close to being the best grunge band
Best is subjective. You can’t deny Nirvana were special though.
Enjoyed your video. I love Be here now. It’s got so many flaws lol, but for me it’s just a great rock album. It expands on the sound of the previous two albums and has a great blend of the pop from WTSMG and the rock from DM, as well as taking their sound to a new place/level (e.g. DYKWIM and Fade-In Fade-Out). I would even be tempted to say it is their best album, but possibly their worst produced. I do wish some tracks were slightly shorter (e.g all around the world, stand by me), as it often feels like there is one chorus too many, or the outro is too long, which almost takes away the momentum a little. I do also wish some tracks like my big mouth were slightly more stripped back, like the mystique demo versions (it sounds like you’ve attacked a wasps nest at times on that song 😂😂). I think the OTT nature of the tracks really works on some songs but takes away a little from others. That being said, it’s still great. The 3 track sequence of Be here now, All around the world and It’s gettin better (man!!) are just so huge and so fun to listen to. Ultimately, when I’m in a great mood and I wanna rock out, I go to Be Here Now. Sometimes that’s all I need 👌
Good stuff Jim Nirvana are one of the greatest rock bands. Kurt, Dave and Krist were so perfect as a trio (obviously adding in Pat later on, but let’s focus on those three as such) and made such an incredible and iconic sound. Loud, melodic and absolutely perfect They’re among my fave five bands (with Oasis, REM, Stone Roses and Beatles) All three albums are brilliant. Nevermind is right up there in my top 10 best albums ever list. It’s perfect Keep up the great work with these videos. Enjoying (and the movie stuff too)
BRUH do you sing the first song on standing on the shoulder of giants 🤨🤨🤨🤨🤨🤨🤨
Hmm prob what’s the story morning glory
Also, with reflection, the title means something else to me now than it did then Back then, ‘As You Were’ was Liam’s sign-off catchphrase on social media - a term to say ‘bye, off you pop, class you’re dismissed, get on with your day’ etc But today it seems to be ‘business resumed, I am back’ with the ‘As You Were’ line meaning ‘as I was!’ Yes
While not absolutely great, it’s definitely well worth listening and enjoying. Some of the songs are brilliant, such as things you mentioned Liam definitely returned with this having been in the cringey wilderness during the Beady Eye years (5 good songs)
I prefer liams solo stuff, but beady we’re good. Start a new is beautiful. Not a fan of Beatles and stones, standing on the edge of the noise, face the crowd, but all the other album tracks were good. Not oasis good , but then again who is?
Love it, in fact; all three of his solo albums have been great so far. As for Beady Eye, I think their second album was fantastic. But I wasn’t huge on the first one, apart from the song “The Roller” and “Four Letter Word”.
(Sitting Here In Silence) On My Own is one of the only Oasis tracks I think is absolute shite. By far their worst imo
It's one of my favorite tunes lol
Stand By Me (5/5) D'You Know What I Mean (5/5) It's Gettin' Better Man (4.5/5) -- underrated I Hope, I Think, I Know (4.5/5) My Big Mouth (4/5) The Girl In The Dirty Shirt (3.5/5) All Around The World (3.5/5) -- used to love it, but it's fallen in my view in recent years Fade In-Out (3/5) -- starts well but turns to crap half way through. They needed to develop it more Be Here Now (3/5) Magic Pie (3/5) -- the verses and bridge are good, it's just the title and chorus that let it down Don't Go Away (2.5/5) -- I've never got any sincere feelings from this song. Overrated
Little By Little (5/5) -- best Oasis song post Morning Glory Songbird (4.5/5) Stop Crying Your Heart Out (4.5/5) The Hindu Times (4.5/5) Better Man (4/5) -- underrated She is Love (4/5) -- I don't get the hate this song gets The Cage (3/5) -- Nice bluesy instrumental, I like it A Quick Peep (3/5) -- bit of fun Force of Nature (2.5/5) -- agree that Liam should have sung it (Probably) All In The Mind (2/5) -- yawn Born on a Different Cloud (2/5) -- yawning, but for 6 minutes
Stop crying your heart out is not very good and Lyla sucks
