FEELING OVERWHELMED? I CAN HELP! 💜 ✨8 tips to combat overwhelm & stress✨
Buy your back pack LAST. Gather the stuff then see how big you need a backpack. Remember to leave room to carry essentials you gather along the way...
Gorgeous woman with intellect!
How many people are in your family? This is too much for only TWO people with NO pets.
We have 5 people and 2 indoor pets, with 3 outdoor pets. This is long-term storage, so it’s intended to sustain our family for a while.
Buy your bag LAST, so you can fit the stuff in your bag. Check your emergency supplies when you replace the batteries in your smoke detectors, when the time changes.
Great tips!!!
One thing i have heard for years is if you pack it learn how to use it. I have a little stove that uses sterno but i believe can use sticks for fuel I will have to look that up. I did use it back in 2022, it is now 2024, and it worked great. Also someone else put a bowl in their pack along with eating utensils and a big spoon becaise they had more food and for a large family
So true!!!!
I am changing my packs so I wanted to get more ideas
Hi can i use springform pan as i don't have this an also can i use whole egg , i dont have egg seperater and i dont know how to seperate egg or better stil wil i b able to make this eggless an also can i use 2 cup cream an rest ingredients il keep as is
That would be a lot of modifications to the original recipe, so I can’t say if it would turn out or not. However, eggs are what make the creamy-custard texture. Crème brûlée is essentially a baked custard. This would not work well in a springform pan, but you could make 1 larger creme brûlée in a round casserole dish. You would need to bake it longer though. You may have to do some google research to find out the correct baking time for something like that.
Can I ask a stupid question?: What exactly are you prepping for? Zombie apologize, "end of days"/ rapture, nuclear winter, roaming bands of "not our kind, dear"? I know America has a long history of "utopian" and Doomsday cults, but what's the long term plan here?
My dad always told me there was no such thing as a stupid question ;) Prepping for life. We regularly use our buckets of oats, beans, rice, wheat. I make a lot of things from scratch that are cheaper to buy in bulk and they last longer in the buckets. Also, you never know when a spouse could lose a job, there could be some sort of physical disablement or heaven forbid another virus situation. Whatever the case, I can feed my family, which is a huge stress-relief. You don't have to agree; that's ok. This is what I feel is best for me.
God ❤️
Your video was great! What a horrible comment from that person. If you want some survival video in the woods, go elsewhere. This is more likely what the average person would need. Very practical, well done
Thank you, that's kind of you to say. Of course, there are plenty of other things you could put in here, but yes-my goal is to cater to the average person that perhaps hasn't thought about having a pack like this before. Something is better than nothing.
Beautifull sister ❤ i like your video
We are differently interested in creating an emergency kit. We live in New Jersey , and we get all types of weather here. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Yes, in New Jersey you would probably want some warmer items like gloves, a hat, extra socks and definately a poncho to keep you dry from the rain.
4/14 date on can Behind you, so it’s out of date..?
We've tried two different ways of dating. One is to date everything when you get it, the other way is to date it with the expiration date/use by date. Do what works best for you!
I’m here because war can happen to my country anytime
Use both sizes of storage containers. It's just sensible.
If you can’t find a bucket opener. Simply place a knee on the center of the lid and peel back the lid while leaning some body weight onto the lid.
Excited for you. You will do awesome!!
Thanks Ky!!! I’m feeling a plethora of emotions right now, but I know it’s what I’m meant to do 🩵
This is so wonderful! Praying all goes well and that you have true joy in this amazing journey!
Thank you so much! It's a little intimidating, but I'm excited.
Smart!

Thank you for your video. I am a beginner so i am doing research this was helpful thank you .
You’re so welcome!! I’m not an expert, but I’m happy to answer any questions you have if I can. 🩵
What happened to the basic of survival. Have you heard of the 10c s of survival. You did not even cover any of them. Bad information will get people killed. Please do some research and testing before making a video. I challenge you to go camping with just your bag see what happens. It would be a great way to test yourself and your gear.
Most people will not need to be prepared to rough it in the woods. Be kind! If you are so smart then make your own video!
@@singerjo5791it is not a bag for going camping.
You really put the simple in simple dinner; looks decent, though I do recommend putting the captions higher since the title is half covering it up.
I buy sprouted oats and make almost the same and love quinoa for breakfast . I also cut dates in oatmeal .
Yum! Sounds good!
I use totes instead of buckets because you can put more in them. They cost about the same price now $7 to $12 depending on where you live and where you shop. If all your dry goods are in Mylar bags then you don't need a air tight container like a bucket.
Smart idea! I love all the comments on this video.
Thanks for the vid!
You bet!
Don’t forget about eye care, contact lenses and supplies, readers, glasses, and sunglasses, safety googles
Great ideas, thanks! I suggest to test all of your supplies when there is no emergency (a fun, safe camp night without electricity), so you know how to use everything - what methods work & don’t work. Also test-walk your backpacks around the block - is it too heavy? A bag that weighs 20% of your body weight is ideal. 👍🏼
Great point!
That bread does look good ❤! 😂
Try it! Easier than you think. 🩵
Excellent video. I've been prepping since the 70s, before I even knew what it was called.
Being prepared is a good feeling!
Get a sawyer mini water filter it can attach to most water bottles like you currently have(Smartwater Bottles seem to stand up to repeated use better than most) and when you come across water you can fill bottles back up and drink through the filter.
I’ve heard of those. Sounds like a very handy thing to have in the pack. Thanks for the idea!
I didn't see you mention a flashlight and batteries (store batteries separately in case they leak). Be sure to get an LED flashlight, even a cheap LED flashlight will be brighter and last longer than an old incandescent style flashlight. I'd also recommend an emergency crank radio/flashlight (although the flashlight is usually poor). Even a pocket radio (with batteries stored separately) should last at least 72 hours. Also carry $50 or more in small bills (ones and fives) and change in case you need to buy something. Credit machines will probably not be working. In my experience cheap pocket knives are crap. Either get a decent, inexpensive knife (folding or not) or multitool. The cheapest, commonly available Mora knife from Amazon is a thousand times better a dollar store pocket knife.
Yes to all your ideas! My hubby has the radio in his pack. Definitely a good idea.
i don't know why people choose to live in a land where you feel you need to prep incase of missiles attacks and so on. the earth is big just make a plan and move. the reality is this isn't the movies there will be no time to escape or do much. many peppers i think are people who suffer from excessive anxiety and worry about the future events they have no control over. i do believe one should be prepared for certain things but to live like this is to my opinion a waste of money. like a guy who has 100 guns in his home hidden behind walls and he's making bunkers and all that. this is all from watching too much movies. these bunkers won't even save you from a powerful tornado let alone a nuclear weapon.
A missile attack is not the motivation to have a long-term good storage )at least not for me). This is about being prepared for anything; lost job, inflation, a natural disaster, etc. it’s like a savings account only with food.
@@homelifewithlauren makes sense. so in the event you have to leave home what do you do with all this stock?
We are fortunate to live in a land where we are free and able to prepare for emergencies. Supplies are rotated throughout our lives so nothing is "wasted." Most of us are stable and most situations don't require us to leave our resources. The reality is that we have little anxiety and even less worry over future events because we prepare for these events in a mature, intelligent & reasonable manner.
@@sandrataylor8966 no matter how much a person prepares or readies themselves for something there are many things that you just can't prepare for like getting cancer, or covid something rich people with an abundance of resources and best doctors died from. I think this hoarding of food and or money makes a person feel safer mentally but in reality it's excessive. like a man with a 100s of guns in his home despite him having only 2 hands. better to go and feed poor people with this than to stock loads and loads of food in your home for yourself and your family preparing for the unknown. on the other note what will you do if your forced to evacuate your homes can't carry loads of food with you? another thing preppers don't think about. i do agree in saving food and or money incase of emergency but stocking up like a Walmart with a basement or garage full of food is excessive. im entitled to my opinion. you are as well. the reality is your living in a land with nuclear weapons pointed at you right now from various countries and given this current situation that can become a reality for you which I pray doesn't. your land is my land too the difference is I chose to leave. im an American born and raised in America and trust me there's nothing amazing about it besides the lies people are told everyday on the news. everyone tries to brag about being from there really im ashamed we are the only people in the world just about who have the fattest population, who only know one language, and work over 40 hours a week or 2 jobs to survive. so what are you bragging about? everyone's stressed out studies show most Americans don't have any real savings, rent is high mass shootings crime, gang violence open prostitution, racism abundance of rapes child abduction and drugged out zombies are now sleeping on million dollar properties everywhere due to drugs. so save the talk about where your from.
TV shows about “ preppers” magnify strange behaviors for ratings so I agree with you about some of those examples. The truth is, we have medical insurance, home insurance, car insurance and hopefully some savings in the bank..and for what. Things we can’t foresee but know will happen. Exactly how and what will happen we don’t always know but being prepared in these examples is clearly a wise decision. Emergency preparedness is no different, just focused on another category of basic human needs for survival. There will always be the commando type fantasy people in the preparedness world but it is the minority in reality compared to young ladies like this ( don’t know her, video just popped up in my feed) that are just normal people taking responsibility to ensure her families safety and ability to survive the unknown. As far as having to flee your house it could happen, but as an old first responder that worked many real life critical incidents in my career , that isn’t reality in many situations you will likely encounter. Things like wild land fires, earthquakes, contaminated water supply, mud slides on roadways stopping food shipments from grocery stores, drought and subsequent food shortages, train crashes, pandemics, personal tragedy ( job loss, illness, injury) weather events, are just some real life scenarios I’ve worked with and the people that prepared were self sufficient vs those waiting and relying on the gov nipple for there families survival. seeing all the store shelves completely emptied in 2020 should be a wake up call to the fragility of relying on a just in time delivery system for your survival. Had that gone on another week or two we would’ve seen a much bigger problem many can’t imagine. Hope this helps somehow. Best of luck @@BigBroSadiq
Great content!! I work in emergency management and we've been telling people to put most of these same things into what we call a Thunder Bucket for bad weather. We also recommend a weather radio and leather gloves to help with clean up. Keep up the good work!
Thank you! You just never know what unexpected surprises life is going to bring. It’s better to be prepared and have those few comforts when and if the time does come that they’re needed. And great tips for other items to pack in your bag!
You might want to 'road test' your kit to find out what works and what does not..... take a weekend camping trip and use only what is in your kit for a day or so. This could be an eye opening experience !
Smart idea! Thanks for suggesting it.
Just found your channel, great information 👍

I suggest also to use a Freeze Drying Unit. They are Pricy But well worth the investment. I have a Niece and a close friend that use them. And Love them.
Yes! Freeze-dried food tends to taste better than dehydrated. We’ve been wanting one also and may get one eventually…it’s just the $2,000 price tag that’s holding us back.
Very good tips
What good is all this food if Russia invades?.....people need to repent and turn to Jesus Christ while there is time
I just found your channel tonight. These are some good ideas. I dont recall if you mentioned a compass, but id put one of those and a paper map in my bag, as well as a life straw for when the bottled water run out. I have to make 4.5 hr trips every few months so if i got stuck it might be a while before help arrived
I do have a compass in there, but not a map. Good idea! And we probably need to get another life straw. I think only one person in my family of 5 has one in their pack. 👍🏼
i'm not a mom and even i hate it when the counter is full of stuff and you don't have space if you need to or arrive with your arm full and need to drop the grocery or do some cooking
It's not about messy or clean. It's about others not respecting the work you've done, and not cleaning up after themselves. I get it. 😮💨
why do people need their homes to look like no one lives there??? it feels like you're looking for something to be mad at your kids over...
Nope! My kids are amazing and I’m grateful! And our home definitely looks lived in 😉 However, I make most meals from scratch and the kitchen is our hub, so leaving it like this is the one thing that gets me 😁
Why the negatives Nancies??? The food topics are important and everyone has their own priorities/abilities when storing up for any future needs. Please keep on posting! You’re doing a good work!! 👏🏼
Thanks Meg! 🙂 I recognize that some are commenting to be constructive and some not. 😉 Unlike a lot of other people, we actually actively use a lot of our storage, so we may do things differently. Ultimately, part of my goal is to help people start being more self-reliant and something is better than nothing.
Method to light fire/ cooker
Oh yes. Possible I forgot to show that, but I do have it in there. Thanks for bringing it up-supremely important!
