Saskatoon Balcony Aurora (Sep 16-17 2024)
There was a brief but strong substorm this day after a portion of the CME generated by an X-class solar flare slammed into out magnetosphere. It was an almost full moon night with clouds in the area. I let my camera run between ~8:45pm and midnight and stopped after due to an upcoming rainstorm. Here is the resulting timelapse video at 24fps.

A short dashcam timelapse video from one of the chases this summer in Colorado. There were some great moments during sunset on this day, including a brief orange rain core and lightning bolts. Watching in 4K on a big screen always makes a difference.
Border Hugging Supercells (August 24, 2024)
มุมมอง 403หลายเดือนก่อน
I chased 3 separate supercells this day along the Saskatchewan-Montana border. Every storm dissipated once it got to Saskatchewan. I still had a great visual while they were young and strong over Montana. This timelapse shows the entire day's action in 3m41s. Watch the entire thing in 4K to see it all including the great looking sunset supercell.
Regway, Saskatchewan Sunset Supercell (Aug 24, 2024)
มุมมอง 88หลายเดือนก่อน
I short timelapse of a border hugging supercell along the Saskatchewan-Montana border. This was the third supercell of the day that eventually died after coming into Canada. Luckily I had a great visual from the north, even though the storm was in Montana. This timelapse is a bit coarse because I was mainly trying to capture lightning strikes.
Saskatchewan Chase (Aug 21, 2024)
มุมมอง 218หลายเดือนก่อน
This dashcam timelapse was generated from a storm chase over southern Saskatchewan. This storm got into a good environment closer to sunset, and hence I had to use a decent amount of footage with low day light. At the very end, I had to punch through the cell in heavy rain and hail in the dark to go back north again. It was a lot of fun altogether. Watch it on 4K with the background music, you ...

Another strong to very strong geomagnetic storm occurred, this time on the peak Perseid meteor shower night. While I was out taking photos, my older camera sat on the balcony in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada and captured photos all night for a timelapse video. It was facing east-northeast direction and captured 1700 photos between 10pm and 4am local time. Watch how the intensity of the aurora...

A full day of chase in ~4.5 mins time-lapse from the front and rear dash cam combined. Watch the mesocyclone spin by Denver City, and the RFD over the oil pump jacks. A gorgeous sunset LP supercell and a tornado-warned blue hour supercell at the very end. Must watch it in 4K for all the details!

During out 2024 chase season in the US, June 7th was a very long (probably the longest) chase day. I have compiled all the most relevant front and rear dash camera footage to generate this timelapse video. I posted a shorter version of this chase earlier. Here is the entire chase starting from the initiation of the tornadic supercell till the end of the chase day on supercell # 3 by Hafford, Saskatchewan. This video is in 4K and has a BG tune, best watched on a large screen at max resolution.

God I love your videos, just found your channel and just been checking out some vids. Storm chasing and aurora chasing.... Appreciating the beauty of it all and as well you not being thrill seeking when storm chasing and just taking in all the beauty. As well just experiencing the auroras... they're an amazing sight to see and always puts me in awe in ways I cannot describe. This is a gem of a channel and love it. I've been wanting to chase the auroras and do whenever I can and seen them twice; and man it's the most magical thing to witness. Storm chasing I do too. Sometimes I like slight thrill; but the best part is seeing and appreciating the entire storm. Give it respect, and take in the beauty of the entirety of the storm itself. The power, beauty, all of it. The science behind it all is also so amazing and it isn't mesmerized enough. Most storm chasers today are just for the thrills. I don't judge them, but kinda sad that people really don't stop much in life to see the beauty around them. As well the eclipse, saw that too and man it's indescribable. Please keep up the amazing work! I know it was an odd comment haha, but just this is defs one of those rare channels that I respect and felt compelled to say something. I'm so used to everyone frantically trying to impress the world and get their thrills. Which is okay; but it holds people back from seeing the world around them. You're just sitting back tho and living life. Keep living. Looking forward to seeing any new postings!

Thanks so much for this awesome comment. I have been chasing since 2004, and there were not social media craziness back then. I always chased for the beauty while respecting the immense power. I have no interested in creating a "viral" video by being overdramatic like most out there. Watching the entire storm structure from a safe distance is what makes most sense to me to capture it all. Auroras on the other hand are more of a tranquil phenomenon to observe while not having to drive much at all. I enjoy both sides of the spectrum and hope to keep doing this as long as I possibly can. I also hope to catch at least a few more total solar eclipse in future. Unfortunately, storm chasing is becoming more dangerous solely due to too many chasers trying to do reckless things. When I am out there, my main concern is other brain washed newbies rather than a powerful storm barreling down at me. I am afraid one of these days there might be a bad accident that will involve many storm chasers. I have personally seen close calls for that and only getting worse every year. Where did you chase storms or see aurora so far? I am guessing you saw both the annular and total solar eclipse recently? Where did you go for those?

We all know how driver's in Saskatoon are. Highly uneducated to the laws of the road. The city law enforcement is another failure and uneducated. It just goes to show what we all have to deal with on the roads. From all over the world, driver's think they are better than everyone else.
