Honestly sad that this game is most likely gonna die soon. Was gonna reinstall when Ben 10 came out eventually but that might not happen :(

They removed all the perks, that killed the game for me, & the progression takes to long & sucks.

I tried getting into the game when it relaunched, but the optimization was too poor for it to be reasonable at all. I got a new computer, but it’s as if they REALLY don’t want me playing their game. They added one of my most anticipated characters, Raven, along with a horribly convoluted system to get her. No thank you. May the game come to Switch 2 and actually be reasonable for newcomers by then. If it’s not, hahaha *dead.* Edit (after finishing video): Ben 10 could save this game, but they would have to go against the characters they’ve already hinted at to pull that card, and honestly I get the feeling at this point that maybe that card is not in their deck for some reason, because he’s been SO highly requested.

Tbh I loved playing Steven in the beta and having to grind so many games in order to unlock him is convincing me not to even bother.

Honestly, if this game and Nick All Star Brawl eventually fall off, we could rip out the assets from both games in order to create our own smash bros mod/fangame with them. That way we could improve in their shortcomings and make it a bigger crossover than the official smash bros.

As someone who just started playin for Raven...I saw fighter road and said "nope". I'll keep it installed for my niece and nephews. But they rather just play smash bros.

I LOVED the old beta but nowadays theres waaaaay too much I hate about the game to play it, especially after my original rose-tinted glasses fell off. I hate even just the concept of cooldowns in a fighting game, I hate how slow and floaty it is, I hate how money hungry the devs are, I hate the mobile game-esque progression and grind. I will miss it dearly from when I used to play the beta with my friends, but it genuinely might be unsalvageable for me. most of that is just my preference though.

this game has had mismanagement not seen since early Street Fighter V, and I genuinely hope that like SFV they somehow manage to turn it around

It's always been about how floaty these characters are to me. The game just always looks and plays like it's in slow motion, smash 64 has been out for over 20 years now and its movement still just blows multiversus out of the water. The big update after it was taken down didn't change a thing, it just put a nice new coat of paint on the game.

It shouldn’t have been so hard. You had a case study of a great game (smash bros ultimate), multiple IPs with some big nostalgic names, the initial hype, Player First games had it all. And they still messed up. All because of a shitty progression system.

I'm not saying it was a bad game, but I think it's funny how much Wukong was hyped up only for all the hype to die a month after the game was released, then see people say that "Nobody cared about Astro-bot." when it won GOTY over Wukong. Seriously, I forgot Wukong even existed before the Game Awards reminded me.

I don't really like competitive games, but recently tried out Rivals just for the kick of playing some superheroes I like, and because I COULD play the exact ones I wanted to... I was hooked, and have since happily bought their BP which feels very generous. When will these devs come to understand that a playerbase paying to ENHANCE their experience is much more powerful than forcing players to pay their way around imaginary road blocks? One inspires loyalty, the other will always foment disdain.

Has one of the biggest roosters in Media. -Launch game in beta with success -people love it with some flaws -beta closes for months when people bought skins and more??!! -peoples progress and purchase didnt move to the full game -make gameplay slower than beta -barely update the game -remove QOL(Quality of Life) features -AGAIN SLOW UPDATES OF QOL AND ROOSTER!!!! -Fail??? What went wrong?

I think the failure of this game lies within the core of what it is. A free to play platform fighter. People want to buy a fighting game, and just own it and have all the content within. People will buy DLC down the line if they want to add more content, and people will still buy optional cosmetics for characters they love. Locking characters behind paywalls, and expecting people to stick around long enough to want to unlock it just doesn't add up. It's free, and if people aren't having fun, due to grinding, not being able to access more characters, whatever, they're gonna be more inclined drop it, because, well, they didn't pay for it in the first place.

Yeah I never even heard of this game but saw raven was in it and downloaded it and it’s a lot of fun but…can’t play raven unless I pay or unlock a bunch of characters I don’t care about lol this games lore with monetization and grinding goes so deep

I theorized that shields being added was a way to draw in some of the smash playerbase, my brother who plays in local smash tournaments who couldn't care less about multiversus, started talking about it one day because of the shield system being worked on for the game and showed some genuine interest in playing as it became just a tad closer to smash

I have not played since the beta I will be willing to try it again if the new characters was free it seems like it'll be interesting to play as the Powerpuff girls or Raven but I'm not spending money on something that burn me once.

Ex-Master Rick player here. I dropped MultiVersus roughly 2 months ago after soaking about 200 or so hours into it ever since it relaunched, and haven't looked back, as it really sucks how nearly every update is just killing the game further and further. The overmonetization, the unnecessary buffs/nerfs that characters receive, the cramped roster that you have to actively grind for to get one character who you probably don't even want, etc. This is all just my opinion, but there may be some people who agree with me on the points I make here. - The sheer amount of DC characters. Nearly every season, we've gotten a new DC character now. Am I the only one who thinks there's too many of them in the game? And nearly every single one of them are crazy overpowered in some way? It feels like the Fire Emblem characters in Smash Ultimate. - The game feels hella sluggish now. This is probably the most common point made about how 2.0 is worse than 1.0, as it feels like the whiplash that Smash Bros Melee players had when they played Smash Bros Brawl when it first dropped. I feel like the dodging is actively worse now than it was in 1.0. Sometimes I actively mash the button to get out of moves and it still doesn't work. Call it a skill issue if you'd like, but it's just a little pet peeve of mine. I don't know if other characters had this issue, but I swear, I kept getting phantom hits as Rick with some moves, and it's even costed me some games. (For those who don't know what phantom hits are, it's a term in Smash Bros Melee where you hit someone with a very powerful move, like a smash attack, but the knock back isn't dealt, only the damage.) Also I swear, the automatic tech has gotten me roped into another combo more often than it has saved me. Why can't they just make it manual? - I despise the new "Play lame, win game" playstyle. I imagine everyone hates this, but thanks to the removal of hit decay (the more you spam a move, the worse its knockback and damage becomes), you can just spam cheap asf moves and just win almost every match. I watched a friend of mine play Shaggy while he was drunk, and he won an entire comp match by ONLY using side special (it was low-key hilarious, he was screaming "SIDE B" over and over again). That just shows that you can spam certain special moves and just win. Doesn't help that many characters had (or probably still have) infinite chain combos that guarantee a stock. Like, come on, man. There's definitely more points I missed as to why this game is just dead now, and my opinions probably won't be liked by many, but again, it's all just my opinion. I wish this game could be better, but unfortunately, they got a little greedy with it (WB mainly, PFG meant well).
