Sing to yourself in the mirror. Look into your own eyes, and tell yourself the story. You will know if you're telling it well or if you're over-acting. Sing it to yourself many, many times. With the mirror. And then without it. Bring yourself to tears. Feel every bit of pain and sorrow that the song is offering. Notice for yourself when you start to choke up. Notice if you can breathe through it, or if you've tipped over into total emotion. As the storyteller you want to know the depth of emotion you're conveying having experienced it during your practice sessions. When you perform it, though, you job is to take yourself right to the line of deep emotions and then pull yourself a bit back. By going to the edge, but then backing off it a bit, you're keeping yourself able to sing, and the audience will finish the emotional journey for you if you've done your job right. I hope this helps. @@KateChapman​​⁠Hello Kate. I wanted to check back in and let you know the concert went really well. It was the scariest night of my life, but I was actually able to complete the solo. I did cry a little bit toward the end of the song but it added to the emotion by accident. Today was the last day of my choir class and my teacher offered me the lead in the school play “Phantom of the Opera”. I didn’t plan on auditioning, but I accepted as not to be rude to a teacher who just gave me an A. I’m horrified, I’ll have to sing alone more now. I know I actually do have a really good voice, but I still need help with my confidence and fear. My last solo was only in front of a small group, now I need to perform and sing in front of a full crowd! Just typing this out has me tearing up in fear. What should I do? I’m sorry for over sharing but I’m just so scared and don’t know who else to talk to.

This was done right be for Y2K happened, so R2K was a play on that idea. And I'd have to listen more closely to get the exact lyrics, but it's something about Rosie being a new superhero for the new millennia.

@@KateChapman Thanks for your reply. That's too bad. Probably would have been handy this last year to bring in some money. I certainly would have paid to see/hear this production. I saw the original when it toured to Los Angeles and LOVED it. To hear the talents of this 2005 cast would have been great, too.

@@BTKnowMore I kept wondering all year if the Lincoln Center archives were going to find a way to air some of their holdings - like this show, which they did film and archive - but I'm guessing it's too difficult to figure out with royalty pools, as there weren't contracts signed to cover that at the time of filming. And, yes...some money would have been great! Hopefully someday you'll be able enjoy this production. It was a great cast.
