Tough day. There has been plenty of times that I have experienced catching a fish and then having a bass boat swoop in like a jackal. Very frustrating.

That was a beast of a bass. It gets so intense when they smash it at the side of the boat.

That was a bit of a grind for an afternoon. Sometimes dinkers save the day.

I've had more days like That this year then I care to admit. Counting outings when I get skunked, it often takes me 15 hrs of fishing to make a 10 to 12 minute video. I'm getting pretty proficient at making blooper videos. Only started my channel 1 1/2 yrs ago & my 3rd blooper video due out within next few weeks

I like that launch, some days. I had a meh day there yesterday. Being 100% the back where the creek splits hard, I have never caught one beyond there. Others I know for sure have, but I always fair better on the main lake up to the shoal with the tree in the middle of the open. I now reach that and if I don't plan to fish docks, turn and go back towards the ramp and mid lake. Wish my home lake would have you treated you better.

Still a pretty day to be out. Post spawn can be tough at times.

The misses are just the worst. I think boaters woke up and choose violence yesterday too. We had a guy waking our people full speed (we are talking within 20 feet of kayaks, and then at the boat ramp he untied a kayak from the dock and pushed it out to float off. It was an interesting weigh-in. I feel like the montage needed music. Also, I meant to say hey at the weigh-in. I saw you over there but I think the food had finally arrived and then every last thought was on getting calories.

That squeaking sound used to drive me nuts

Put a towel between the bottom seat and it will reduce that noise

Man....I am right there with you on the jerk bait. I just have to lock it into my hand and force myself to use it. Then I will figure out when it works and when it doesn't. Until then, I just don't have any confidence in it.

Made you a day out of the shad spawn when you did't get there early for it. I got a Q. I had a guy tell me once to extend shad spawn fishing, fish shadows on vertical areas since shad spawn at night. All your damage was sunny side. Does it really matter?

Looks like a blast. Ive had a couple of lews reels to do the same thing. Like previous reply it is an issue btw the metal sleeve and the one way bearing race which is plastic. Sometimes over oiling that race can cause this issue as well

I have a kast king reel that the anti reverse clutch/bearing slips when it's cold and does what yours did. I think it's because it's metal sleeve in a plastic race and the expansion rate is different. It's sits on my desk now and I replaced that cheap reel

Ha! We barely caught any bass yesterday down there. All striper with a 12lb cat on a crank late afternoon. That place beat to death nowadays.

Cold muddy water is THE toughest conditions that you can fish. Don’t be too hard on yourself. It’s only gonna get better…once you get to the right lake, of course. 😂

That bite at the boat was sick. You can see it hit in the video which is awesome.

Love when the bite is close enough to the kayak to give me a jump scare. Also, really happy I am not the one only one with protein buildup on my favorite hats. On the second wacky rig, that was an odd hookset. You must have had the lures on his face or something. Free piercing IMO. Good fishing as always bud.
